I have been there twice. Once was a Friday afternoon, the other was a Saturday night. It became quickly obvious trying to get a beer that the young wait staff is getting paid to entertain their age group. Twice I had to wave my arm and say something out loud because having drunk boys hit on them while getting paid was more important than the business at hand. Not a place for adults!!!!
Tried to call in a order for my lunch and got servers playing on the phone numerous times saying it's the wrong number! Horrible time to play when you are unaware of if the customer has time for the childish games. WON'T WASTE ANYMORE OF MY LUNCH BREAKS HERE!!!
The food was awesome and I like the view of the water. My waitress was great. I wish there was a sign that says Dogs are welcome. I’m not a fan of large animals at the restaurant
There was a large dog that shake and his hair flew all over the place and I saw the hair in the sunray landing on customers table.
Jordan was an amazing waitress she suggested shrimp and grits wow delicious and she suggested the shrimp and scallops basket along with the grouper sandwich finger licking delicious. The best scallops I’ve had ever. I travel all over the US truly the freshest scallops ever
Recommended by a friend who said this was a local hangout. The drinks were pretty standard. The view was really good if you got a table by the water. The bartenders seemed too busy to care about your order. If you're outside, it seemed like you were free to smoke (not used to that at all), which dampened the ambiance. Overall, ok bar.
I came to Charleston for a week long vacation. We came back to Reds 4 of the 7 nights we were here. Everything was great. I loved the bacon wrapped shrimp, the coconut shrimp, killer shrimp (hot!), shrimp tacos and the shrimp and grits. Service is good and you can't beat the views. Perfect stop. I'll miss it when I go home.
Great views and friendly staff. I had the lobster mac and cheese and felt it should have come with a side for the price and size of the entree. We ordered crab legs, and they weren't the best quality legs. My husband's burger was amazing and my daughter loved her meal, as well. Drinks were strong and well made.
My boys and hubby love it here but I consider more options. The outer deck is great for the waterways view of fun actions going on. The Kayakers, the boaters, the birds flying bythese are some good catch for great view while dining in a day, or two or three or more times. The Nacho Chips Platter is good and the Margarita of any kind. On Monday's they got All-You Can Eat Crab Legs /Seafood Platter. Easy going or laid-back type, it is casual here, you'll last! :)
This is my favorite restaurant in Mount Pleasant. It is a must go to place. It has great food, great drinks, and a great view of Shim Creek. They offer live bands at night. It has a dock in front so you can come by car or boat. They only down side is that they don't run their AC. It is an open bar/restaurant lots of open windows and doors. But it is still high recommended.
Monday night destination for all you can eat crab legs 6 to 9 p.m., but be advised if you aren't there way early, you will have a long wait. Worth it anyway. Service and atmosphere was terrific.
Great place to just hang out and have a bite to eat or just have a cold drink right on the creek. The rooftop bar gives a great view. Their grouper sandwich is one of the best I've had.
My wife and I have always had a good experience here, despite all the negative reviews. We ordered the wrapped, skewered & barbecued shrimp to start with our last visit, and it was such an amazing dish, we wanted more! The lobster roll was delicious, and my wife's burger was excellent! Service was excellent as always, and we will definitely be back!
Let's analyze with the 5 senses:
1-Smell: Stomach churning stank from their dumpster. The one you have to walk by to get from parking lot to entrance. Could smell it all the way to water. Lots of broken glass in parking lot.
2-Sight: Nothing to write home about. Imagine a small canal with restaurants and boats.
3-Touch: Everything was sticky and appeared to be dirty.
4- TASTE: 4 of us ordered 4 different things; all bad. Meatless crab legs, grouper, kids meal, and pimento cheese served with a handful of wrapped Captain's Wafers would have all been better from a grocery store. Worst of all, WARM beer.
5- Sound: The only thing good was the music. Also, was happy to hear my wife say they forgot 2 of the things we ordered.
The hostess was nice but WAY off on the available table time. Told us 15 mins and took almost 40 to put us at a bar table. The wait staff and bar tenders all seemed really unhappy.
The food is always good here. It's one of our go-to places when we're in the Charleston area. Yesterday I had the fish and chips with scallops - really good. Today I'm going to have the grouper sandwich. Oh, the view is great here on Shem Creek. Service is good too.
