Great brewery. Excellent food. Excellent service.. Good beers.. Very cozy, lively atmosphere.. The elk burger and fried mushrooms were a solid 4 stars. The peach wheat beer was also a solid 4 stars.
Service here was great! the burgers are exceptional! however don't order the nachos they were horrible there was no flavor and tasted like a white man was trying to transition to a Mexican women that doesn't know how to cook.
Horrible experience. I will definitely not be headed back even if it was free. The food was cold and the beer was overpriced and not that good. Upon complaining was treated like a second class citizen..one can only assume it was because they believe they are top notch and nothing needs changing. Don't waste your money or time going here. Beer was way better at Westbound & Down anyway and they treated my girlfriend and I like they wanted our business back. F$@# Tommyknocker and their rude staff.
Giving the star for the beer, both the beers my husband and I had were good. The food and service left something to be desired. My husband got the "loaded" nachos, the chips were stale, and there was no queso on them, pretty much the only thing on there was beans. I ordered the southwestern burger, it was the driest burger I've ever had, the bun was also dry and the cheese looked like it had been sitting there for a while. The topper on the cake was that we were sitting pretty close to the computer where they put in the orders and our waitress and two others were standing there talking in detail about their sex lives. Not really what I want to hear while I'm eating my lunch.
Food is great. Jalapeño Popper burger has fresh jalapenos. Large portions. The chocolate malt was awesome! Lots of options. Casual atmosphere. Not crowded when we got there most customers in the bar, but food order took a long time.Staff is very good. Sign outside looking for cooks, staff, so that is probably the slow kitchen issue. Definitely a place to stop.
Good food, great beer. Fun environment and friendly, responsive staff. I had three people come ask if I'd received my beer, just to make sure I'd been cared for. After a long day involving a blown tire, it was the perfect place to stop and unwind.
There have been a few times now that I have purposely not taken a lunch break while skiing, just so I can plan to leave a little bit early, just so I can visit Tommyknocker on my way back down from the mountains.
Been in a handful of times, and have never been anything but happy with my visit.
The beer is really good: cold, refreshing, tasty, unique, and it seriously hits the spot after a long day getting the noodle legs in Summit County.
I've only eaten here once: a gigantic, practically ostentatious plate of nachos. Heaping with cheese, meat, more cheese, more meat, guacamole, more cheese, nice crispy chips, and just perfectly sizedfor 3. Which we had, so that works out great.
Great staff, great beer, good food, and a fun and relaxing time to unwind a bit before the last mad-rush back down to Denver.
Loved the root beer buffalo burger! Waitress was great and attentive! Excellent smothered fries! I really enjoyed the Palisade Peach Cream Ale and wanted to take some home to Kansas City friends but they were all out of six-packs. Great atmosphere!
Great food and beers in this surprising joint. We stopped here for lunch because our zip line tour offered 1 Free beer per person. It did not disappoint! We had onion rings (very typical but good), I had a French dip--amazing! And hubby had fish tacos which he loved. I had the brown beer which was light, full flavor and a great brown beer! Service was good, all and all great stop for a good meal!
Well played. Every time we visit for beer/food it is a great experience. You can tell they are continuously improving.
This place is good if you are starving, and don't feel like going too far. My husband got the chicken and waffles, which I will admit was really good. My burger was okay, and the fries were okay. But I found it extremely annoying that you were up charged to sub out fries for a side salad. You were up charged for everything on the menu. I ended up paying $15 for a mediocre Burger. The worst part, was that their water was disgusting. And when you've been hiking and are dying of thirst, that is the last thing that you want. I wouldn't rule it out, but you might want to hold out for better options than what is available and Idaho Springs. Either eat at Keystone, or wait till you get closer to Denver.
Had an excellent dinner here with a party of 6. The wait staff was very attentive and handled our customizations very well. I had the fish and chips which were amazing!
The service was great! Chris overheard me mention a beer and appeared with a taster out of nowhere. The Mineshaft Spinach Artichoke dip was delish with a bit of spice. No complaints here!!
Great lunch here! I had the seasonal summer berry ale and a veggie burger with buffalo fries. Everything was delicious. I don't usually drink beer but I loved the berry ale. Highly recommend this place!
