Lovely Light Filled Inn. Best place in dells to stay !

With several significant architectural treasures, I don't believe there's anything else in the Dells like what they have here, rates are reasonable and it is right on the river - in the case of the Sherman House, directly overlooking the Wisconsin River. The Prairie Style Sherman House (built turn of 20th century, actually before "Prairie Style" was a thing) and the big, blue, beautiful White Rose Victorian are the mansions of the era. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Dell View room in the Sherman House and felt like extending another week. Enjoy your time here

We stayed at The White Rose about five years ago and loved it. The suites were great, the bathrooms phenomenal, the showers were the best I've ever been in. Fast-forward to 5 minutes ago
I called to make a reservation, at first the man who answered (who later offered up the information that he was the manager) started out ok. When we talked about the rooms I asked about the room we stayed in years ago. When he told me the price ($155, which judging from other recent reviews they shouldn't be able to charge much more than $75 a night) mentioned that a lady I spoke to earlier quoted a different price.
That's when things got crazy!!!
He countered with an offer of $125 for the room, which I was considering until he opened his mouth again. When I began to question him he started laying out the benefits of the room rapidly, and then told me I needed to make up my mind. He interrupted me three or four times to say the clock is ticking, I had to hurry up, that he had been on the phone wasting his time for 10 minutes with me now (I checked the time on my phone at that point and it said 4:44).
I began to ask him a question (in transparency it was how a manager could talk to a returning guest like that) and he hung up on me.
I called back and got the lady I spoke to earlier. She was apologetic, and gave me a better price ($110). But there are other places in the Dells or a short drive away. Since it is the off-season, and there's less traffic, I'll have no problem finding a place, while The White Rose will struggle to find someone to fill that room.
I will never stay there again. I will ensure everyone I knows will not stay here again. I will repost this in every place I can, and I will continue to repost how bad my experience was to ensure that everyone knows how bad this experience was.
Maybe you will learn to talk to me and other guests like the people that keep your doors open.response / report this review -

The rooms are nice. There is a deck that you can sit on up by the white house. They owners are very nice. When I asked for extra things. The room was very clean. The bathroom is very big. They have a conference room in the back by the big houses. They have wipes to take off makeup.

The place is very old but the people who run it Are very thoughtful and working hard. It's nice and clean. Reminds me of the family owned properties of the 50s.Actually a very nice quiet spot.

If you have a trailer I would go here. They will make you park down the road and down a big hill. They are very rude to customers. I told him if you are going to talk to me like that just give me my money back. He would not do it. They don't clean out the bottom of the garbage cans and it makes the outside and inside stink. The place is run down and falling apart.

The shower's head doesnt work very well. Somehow, i locked my dad and I out. The TV is too old, EAR R.I.P.
