Honestly my wife and I stopped in to grab a quick coffee at Starbucks. It was about 8 minutes before they closed and the valet was more than gracious and park our car right out front. We ran in chatted with the barista and then made our way out. The valet staff is professional and courteous and who doesn't love a good cup of joe.

You can always trust the accommodations and service at a Westin. The Westin Tampa Bay is no exception. Easy check in. a beautiful room with a lovely view and the famous soft and luxurious Westin bed. Room service was fast and efficient. Plus a quick complimentary ride to the Tampa airport in the morning.

Great hospitality and service. Staff very quick to correct anything that's wrong. Attended a conference here and stayed overnight. The food in the conference was great. The food in the bar downstairs not so much. The rooms are very nice and clean. I probably wouldn't stay for a family vacation, but I wouldn't mind returning for another conference.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

The location is perfect! Hotel staff was pretty pleasant and accommodating. I think the only thing this place is missing is a spa. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing vacation.

I have had much better Westin stays. The biggest issue is the AC. I don't know what's going on but the hallways and elevators are saunas. The rooms are cooler but don't cool lower than 80. They brought us an industrial fan that helped some, but was extremely loud. Weak AC is a big problem in sunny Florida. It was an impossible situation no matter how much we wanted it to work because of the dogs. In fact, we would have checked out like many others if we didn't have limited choices because of the dogs.

In addition, we tried room service it took more than an hour and then they brought a nearly raw hamburger. It was almost 10 pm before we finally ate. Not good!

On the plus side, the hotel has beautiful water views, friendly staff and is extremely dog friendly!

The room was exceptional as were our views from the room. Staff incredibly friendly. Very clean. It was lacking a certain panache. Also no gift shop so we got soaked as couldn't buy a Pancho before our outdoor event, nor the much needed mosquito repellent or the healthy snacks for our long car ride back home. I would give it 3.5 stars. Would have received full 5 stars if above needs had been met.

I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT WHEN VALET DAMAGED MY VEHICLE ON DEPARTURE NO ONE KNEW HOW IT HAD HAPPENED. MY CARD THAT WAS WITH MY KEYS STATING OF ANY DAMAGES WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND AS WELL. BUT FUNNY AS SOON I LEAVE THEY FIND IT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY CLAIM THAT MY MIRROR ON MY TRUCK WAS BROKEN WHEN BROUGHT IN!!!! AT FIRST I DID THINK THEY DID HIT MY MIRROR ON A CONCRETE PILLAR BUT IT TURNS OUT THAT EVERY TIME THEY PARK YOUR VEHICLE THEY FOLD THE MIRRORS IN AND WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO MINE WAS THAT THEY FAILED TO REALIZE THAT ITS AUTOMATIC AND PUSH THE MIRROR OUT CAUSING THE GLASS TO COME OF PARTIALLY FROM THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR. I HAVE ASKED NOT ONLY THE VALET MANAGER BUT ALSO THE HOTEL AND CORPORATE TO CHECK THE CAMERAS TO PROVE THAT MY VEHICLE MIRROR WAS NOT BROKEN UNTIL I RECEIVED MY TRUCK BACK ON MY DEPARTURE ON MY LAST DAY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE NO MATTER WHAT IF THEY ARE THIEF'S AND DENY A MIRROR DAMAGE THAT THEY DID THEN WHAT ELSE MAJOR COULD HAPPENED TO YOUR VEHICLE AND/OR STAY AND THEN CLAIM THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH EVERYTHING. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN I HAVE TOLD MY JOB AND THE CITY I WORK FOR TO NOT EVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN.

Welcoming staff. Reasonable parking. Comfy bed (far exceeding other hotels). Indoor pool is nice so you do not bake in the heat/sun. Tiny hot tub (bathing load 4 people) was odd (too crowded for us to use). Room service burger was blah - not so good.

The hotel was lovely but the customer service was very poor. The valets were rude when trying to understand how they handled getting cars since you pay $5 just for using the lot. The desk help was rude when trying to get help. I didn't have a room service menu and the front desk guy grilled me about why I didn't have one. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and drove to the Cheesecake Factory instead of giving them any additional monies. They also have a green service where housekeeping doesn't come in. I hung the green notice on my door as directed. Several times housekeeping tried to enter my room, waking me up then the front desk called to find out why I wasn't allowing housekeeping in. When I explained, he cut me off like I was bothering him and ended the call. It would have been a better rating if the human experience were better.

Absolutely the worst customer service possible from the front desk!

I checked in early dropping off some personalized gift bags to be given to 5 special out of town guests arriving for my son’s wedding. The front desk assured me that they would be presented when the guests checked in (each gift bag was clearly marked with the guest’s name).

First guest arrived and were not given their gift. I went to the front desk and inquired, apologies were made and assurances given that the other guests would receive their gifts. Second guest arrived and the front desk tried to give him someone else gift bag. He told the desk that the name was not his. You would think they would realize the difference from a Kurt or Marsha (male vs female) but apparently this was too difficult.

I went back to the front desk to inquire about my friend’s gift bag. Same lame apologies were provided. I told them Marsha would be arriving later that evening and to try and not screw it up for three in a row. I guess my displeasure worked because the other three guests received their personalized gifts.

The next morning (Friday), we noticed on our credit card, the hotel had double charged us for our entire stay again. When I went to the front desk to inquire, I was told it was a computer billing error and I would need to take it up with my credit card, there was nothing they could do. So let me get this straight, you screw up but I have to make all the calls fixing the problem? Not even an apology.

Saturday morning arrives and we notice another billing on our credit card for the entire stay again! Again the visit the front desk where I am told I would need to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. When I told them it was their error and they should fix the problem, their response was I would have to wait until the manager came in later in the day to look at the issue. Again I spend 15 minutes on the phone with my credit card company regarding the Westin Hotel's mistake.

Later in the morning, I hear from other wedding guests that they have also been double billed by the hotel. It seems the hotel switched to a new billing program that does not yet have all the bugs out of it. At least that was the excuse the hotel was giving guests. I then spoke with some other guests of the hotel who said they were experiencing the same issue and the response of the front desk was little to no assistance.

Sunday morning arrives and guess what? Another billing for my entire stay again! Another wasted trip to the front desk to speak with the lady behind the calendar. She was getting use to me coming down, and again she did nothing to remedy the problem insisting I take it up with my credit card company. Another 20 minutes on the phone.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The deck overlooking the water is relaxing, but you do hear the road traffic pass by. The staff is below poor. Bar service was mediocre at best, paying $14.00 for a rum on the rocks is ridiculous. Food quality is small portions and long waits. Breakfast buffet was OK, but you had to wait for the food to be restocked many times and time your visit to the counter to ensure there was food there. If there were a couple people in front of you, forget it.

Additionally, one of our guests staying at the Hampton Inn inquired to the front desk (on Thursday evening) about staying with them Friday & Saturday night if they could get the wedding party rate. Management basically told him that they would rather see the room empty then offer this rate on short notice. That makes no sense whatsoever as this guest would have dined/drank here during their stay.

This was my first and last time visiting the Westin at Rocky Point, Tampa, Florida. Other wedding guests stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and had a fantastic experience for half the price. Weddings are stressful enough and the last issue I thought I would have would have been with the hotel, but just the opposite, the wedding went off without a problem and the Westin Hotel was the issue.
