We only came for lunch at the restaurant. It was a perfect place to eat a relaxed meal that was beautifully prepared and well presented. Not to mention delicious! A nice surprise close to the hotel where we did stay.

My wife and I stayed for one night and loved it! Location is great, an easy walk to State Street. The room was clean and comfortable. The Continental breakfast has lots to choose from, and the complimentary wine & cheese each afternoon and Oreos & milk each evening really made the stay feel hospitable. Overall, 10/10 would stay again.

The rooms are extremely quant and are in a very unique setting. Louis the restaurant located inside of the Upham was the best meal I've had in a year(I order the parmesan crusted chicken) with outstanding service and lackadaisical feel.

Love the Upham. Close to Public Market, which had great food! Breakfast and Wine each day at Upham make for great day. Plenty of amazing restaurants close by. Amazing customer service! This place is my home away from home.

Very quaint. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. If you are looking for a full hotel, this is not the place for you, no fitness center or fridge in the room. But if you are looking for something a little more private than a bed and breakfast, this is perfect. All the charm, but more privacy than sharing a house with others.

The Upham is a really delightful hotel just north of downtown Santa Barbara. The decor is extremely tasteful and considered, the ambience genteel - we really enjoyed just puttering around and sitting & reading our books out by the garden. We were in the Lincoln building, looking out onto the main road, so there was a bit of noise in the early hours with bin lorries (garbage trucks) etc. But thee evening wine more than made up for this! Would definitely recommend - 5 stars.

Room was musty. Spyders on the ceiling. Terrible wine and appetizers in the evening. Breakfast was cheap oat meal and dry cereal. Late night snack was stale oreo cookies and milk. No firering in the common area. Parking was limited and tight fitting.

Room is tiny, old, needs renovation. TV screen is a size of a laptop. No coffee or tea inside the room. Hotel needs paint job. Not very close to a city center. One has to take a taxi or a bus.

When your AirBNB reservation goes bad, you gotta find the best replacement! My wife and I got screwed around on an AirBNB, so we were left to find a last minute place to stay for our long weekend in Santa Barbara. We ran across this place and we couldn't have been more pleased. The grounds and the rooms are very well kept, especially considering the place was built in the 1800's. Absolutely beautiful! Every staff member that we encountered was a complete professional and always helped us with our needs, whether its recommendations in the area, amenities, or general concerns. We will definitely be returning to The Upham Hotel for our future SB trips and recommending it to friends and family. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also fantastic food and service!

There is nothing we would change about this experience. Thank you for the personal touch and thoughtful birthday wishes. For anyone looking for a comfortable stay with all the charm that comes with an old Victorian housethe Darcy room is simply perfect!

The Country House has all the B&B feel you want and friendly innkeepers. Maureen was wonderful.

If you're looking for perfect paint, straight corners, and sound proof walls, then this isn't your spot. If your looking for clean, charming imperfection, with no detail left out, then stay in the Country House Darcy room, drink free wine on your balcony, and relax with someone you love.
