Good value, nice location, nice amenities. Only complaint related to the thin walls - we could hear a fair bit of noise above us. Didn't prevent us from sleeping but noticeable. Oh, and the front door was a pain, requiring several swipes each time to enter. Minor issue, though. Overall, I liked the hotel and would return.

This is one of the nicest Best Westerns at which I have stayed. Check-in clerk was friendly, room was clean, amenities were well stocked. When I need to return to Santa Barbara, I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel was is very good condition overall and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff was great. There is a restaurant (not owned by the hotel if I understood correctly) right across from the lobby that had an excellent breakfast (tasty and very filling). The price, as compared to others in the immediate area, was good.

We love staying here! Great location! Helen and her staff are fabulous! Warm, caring, friendly staff--from the office staff to the housekeepers to the maintenance crew! Clean, comfortable, lovely rooms and grounds. Close to everything. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate any special needs we have. Safe neighborhood. I enjoy going for long walks and feel comfortable and safe--even at night! The little colorful birds in the aviary are a special part of our visit. Great price! Terrific value! This is the only place we will stay at in Santa Barbara!

This is a great place to stay in Santa Barbara, at least for us, because we can have an apartment with a kitchen, complete with housekeeping. Too bad it isn't near the beach! We love having the pool, especially when our grandchildren come to visit. My only complaints are that the coffee maker makes weak coffee, and the exercise room, pool and laundry do not open until 9 a.m. Especially if you have come from the east coast, but also just if you like to get going early in the morning, this is inconvenient.
The staff is terrific, and for us Encina Inn and Suites is a very convenient place to stay in Santa Barbara. I would love to see a senior rate, or a discount for relatively frequent visitors.response / report this review -

The location is good. Parking in SB is pretty easy (as long as it's not a holiday) so I don't mind having to drive to the beach/State St. The rooms are dated. We had a two room suite that looked straight out of the 70s. But it was clean. And comfy. Good pool and spa. Plenty of free coffee and wifi

Quaint lobby and decor. Clean and helpful staff. Nice looking property and keeping in the local style of Santa Barbara. I very much enjoyed my stay here.

Very nice hotel. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Room was very clean and looked as though it had recently been remodeled. Bed very firm, which we liked, but not good if you like a softer bed. Food and service in the restaurant very good. Would come back for another stay. The aviary with the Finches was a bonus and enjoyed by all, young and old.

Got a deal on Hotel Tonight for a room here while passing thru town. My room was clean and comfortable. There was a little issue with the air conditioning and the ice machine for our building, but nothing major. Restaurant on site seemed nice, but I did not dine there. Very friendly staff.

Very comfortable, quiet and relaxing stay. Cafe on premise offers great food. We ate there 5 times while staying here and it was a delicious meal every time. A bit of a walk from downtown area. Pool is on the small side, but nice to sun bathe. Great customer service. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, polite, professional and did their best to ensure satisfaction. I would stay here again. The service was worthy of a luxury hotel.

Excellent place to stay in SB. Close and easily accessible. Very helpful and kind staff. I have stayed there many times over the past 4 years. I've have tried one or two others and have always been disappointed by comparison. This is a very clean hotel, the room is always in perfect condition, very comfortable beds. I am one to be honest and would definitely share any downsides, but I can't think of any. Bedding and towels are nice and new looking. If I dig for a negative: the refrigerator is usually too cold and the wall paper is usually an amusing pattern (floral!), but the rest of the room is always tasteful. The on-site restruant is fabulous.

What a quaint place in the middle of town! Very friendly staff. Special kudos to Ramon, who handled all my needs via phone when I called a week earlier to confirm my reservation! The grounds are very well kept and all the rooms are strategically grouped in separate buildings. A pool is on site, unfortunately there is no jacuzzi but there is so much more available for your enjoyment!
