Our family has been having Christmas Tea at the Townsend for over 20 years! Laura Klein, the Afternoon Tea Director, has made every year a special experience! All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming!

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The service from the entire staff was quick and courteous, most learned your name within a day. The rooms are large and nicely furnished with a good sized bathroom. My 17 year old son summed it up best "It's like being in a movie " Walking distance to great shops and restaurants is a huge plus.

My wife and I stayed here on a Tuesday night for a romantic getaway. The room and service were top-tier. Will definitely return for future one night getaways.

The Townsend is in a great location in Birmingham where it is easy to walk to a number of great restaurants. I was there to attend an event so I cannot speak to the rooms but the hotel staff are very professional and friendly. For the event I can tell you that the staff had everything well in hand for prep of the breaks and meals. The coffee was always ready and the meals were quite good.

Nice hotel, a bit dated. Arrived at 3:30pm and suite was not yet available. Aside from this, excellent service, great people.

This is a 5 STAR+ HOTEL. And extremely worth it. Careful with the Beds though I had a very hard time getting out of them. I wanted to stay in those beds forever. You could find yourself forgetting about business, life, stresses, everything but amazing comfort. Oh - the rooms are amazing, the entire Hotel is great. Someone knows how to "Hospitality" there for sure. LOVE THIS PLACE.

The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham Michigan is an exceptional hotel. The service is always on point. The lobby and dining rooms are beautifully kept and the atmosphere is warm. The attention to detail assures a relaxing visit.

We hosted our wedding shower in March 2017 in the Clancy Dining Room. The staff and food/drinks were incredible. The attentiveness and quick service of the staff made everything go very smooth. Would highly recommended to others and would book again for our other events.

The staff was very welcoming at the desk, although the valet staff seemed to be more interested in their own conversations as opposed to assisting us. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Check out was a breeze. It was a quick trip but certainly a nice place to put your feet up.

Absolutely amazing hotel! Who doesn't love a hotel where the turn down your beds for you, complete with music playing in your room and chocolates left on your pillow. The staff is amazingly friendly and the food at all of the events was delicious!

Fantastic hotel with excellent service. I've stayed there many, many times over the years and it never disappoints. I would highly recommend the Townsend when visiting Birmingham and/or the Detroit metro area.
