Love the country ambiance of the place. The menu and food are just what you would expect, comfort food done well! Service is a little slow but acceptable. Waitresses have been personable. I have been here 2x and expect to be back again.

My family and I have eaten here twice when we were thru this part of PA. Both of our meals here were really excellent. The french onion soup was maybe the best I have ever had. The ribs were excellent as was the pot roast. They have both a tavern side and a more formal dining room, both are very nice. Our server and all of the staff were very friendly.

The Historic Stone House catered both our wedding and rehearsal last month and I can't say enough about how amazing they were to work with and how much our guests raved about the food!

We worked with Christine and from our first contact she was amazing. She helped us coordinate a menu, including customizing starting from one of the buffet packages add and removing until we loved everything. She coordinated a tasting for us where we made another change and she smoothly kept everything organized. She helped us coordinate linens and even took the time to drive to our site to see how the set up needed to work in advance. The weekend of the wedding Christine treated us all like family. She got to know our families and the wedding party, took the initiative to arrange flowers at the reception to cover some AV equipment and looked out for us to make sure we got enough to eat and even brought us drink refills! She is truly above and beyond going a million miles and hour to make sure every detail is perfect!

Now to the food. For our rehearsal dinner we had barbecue and for our reception we did a variation on one of the standard buffets adding prime rib and chicken oscar. The Stone House traveled to our site and did all the set up for both meals and after the meals were served they did all the clean up and packed away leftovers. Both meals were fantastic. I thought the barbecue was going to be unbeatable until dinner the next night! :) My dad is a bit of a prime rib fanatic and he liked it so much he took was still talking about it the next week! The food was so good that the guests who were staying on site were eating leftover dinner for breakfast both mornings. The groom and I seriously had leftover ribs and mac and cheese for breakfast the morning of the wedding and it was AMAZING! At the end of the weekend we both agreed that if we were starting all over we would have gone with The Stone House again and planned the same exact menu!! (And we'll be visiting for many dinners I expect over the years!)

If you are planning a wedding (or any event really) I can't recommend Christine and The Historic Stone House enough. The food was amazing and the service was so far beyond my expectations. I really felt like every detail was taken care of and I didn't need to worry about anything all weekend. (Well, except managing to get my hands on leftovers since there was kind of a run on the refrigerators every meal!)

One of the nicest places I've eaten at. Decor was beautiful. Food was great. And so many delicious and beautiful kinds of desert. Definitely a must visit. And we will probably be back. Oh yes and the staff was wonderful.

Great Food! This restaurant caters to our work a lot and the food always arrives, hot, and is amazing and consistent. If your hungry for what taste like home cooked food, maybe a little better than momma, then this is the place to go!

Great food and service at the tavern. Bridgette was super accommodating and creative with my drink order. Our room had a beautiful hot tub but that was the only positive about the room. It was not properly cleaned; half empty water bottles, hairs in the bed sheets, and a ring around the bowl of the toilet. There was no one there to check us out in the morning. Just a pile of keys with hanwritten notes from other guests. This would not be a problem but there is a $25 charge for not returning the key to the desk. The room was a great deal, but I got what I paid for.

Went for lunch. The appetizers were decent. We got the fried Mac and cheese. It came out hot on the outside and freezing on the inside. We had to send it back twice. They were pleasant had replacing it. It was good when it was finally warm throughout. I got the French dip which was decent. The fries were not very good. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals.

We went on the spur of the moment due to a gift certificate that was due to expire soon. Over an hour away and a nice little drive. The staff were incredibly friendly and our waitress, Bridget (sp?) was fantastic. She was super polite and attentive. She recommended menu items that they were well known for and we enjoyed the food but the service is what I would go back for. Worth the trip but be aware that the prices are a bit high. My BBQ sampler meal was around $28 but was easily enough food for two. Most meals were around the $17-$30 range. They do have themed nights for certain days of the week for a very reasonable price. Also, the architecture of the old building was very interesting. Definitely worth a try.

Found the place by accident when visiting Fallingwater. We liked the food so much that we are planning a trip back so we can hit the restaurant again. Staff was friendly and the food service was quick (though we ate at an off hour). Place was nice and clean. Lots of different areas to eat, including the outdoor BBQ. Prices are reasonable for the proportions you get.

Hands down favorite restaurant. When i lived here, I was at this place every weekend.

Great food - Brisket is a must. Risotto is great. Mac n cheese is another must. Also a huge selection of beer.

Every Thursday in the summer is Bike Night, so if you have a bike, you gotta ride down here.

I'm getting them to cater my wedding, that's how much I love this place. Their event coordinator is super friendly, so I suggested using them for catering too. Cannot say enough about this place.

Went for steak night this past Thursday, the waitress let us know appetizers were half price for Pens games so we grabbed one of those and ordered two steaks which were delivered cooked to perfection and amazingly tender. Service was fast and the atmosphere was great. Definitely a five star experience.

The food was on point, and nicely portioned. The service was excellent, and selection of craft beers was outstanding. The bread pudding we had for desert was probably the best I've ever had! I'll definitely be back.

The friend zucchini is wonderful but the customer service is terrible. I ordered a mojito to drink and it tasted extremely bland and weak. Not minty at all and it had the flavor equivalent of watered down club soda. When I asked politely if I could exchange it they not only refused to remake it but they wouldn't allow me to exchange it for another drink. Very rudely I might add - and then she informed me that I would still have to pay for the drink. I've never had this happen to me at a restaurant before. What disappointing customer service.
