One of my favorite places in the world, the nature provide a spectacular experience every time here. the resort have a number of cabins on the beach, and then further cabins back in-land, you definitely want the front line cabins if at all possible the experience of the ocean and wind on the window is hard to beat. Only reason the resort dont get 5 stars is that for some reason the super friendly staff always manage to make one or another major hospitality blunder, the will is there, but somehow the training is a good bit short of a FourSeasons experience.. but then again, this is not the four seasons, and to be perfectly fair, at about $300 per night, its a fair bit less expensive than the four seasons for a magnificent stay on the edge of well groomed nature only downside with reviewing this place.. it may be booked next time i want to go. so please don't book, I want that room for myself.
You won't find such amazing staff and service anywhere else. They truly go above and beyond. They're just simply friendly and caring. Obviously great location, clean and fun rooms, very open. The back patio is on the beach.
The service was great. The rooms were beautiful, cozy and we'll stocked. My favorite was the big comfy bed and the robs were soft and warm. It was like home away from home. Definitely 5 stars.
A wonderful, semi-secluded ocean front resort. Set only 20 minutes away from Monterey, and all the activities there. Each suite is perfectly positioned to give the best view of the Pacific. Great restaurant sits on site and shuttle will be waiting to take you with a short call. The service is fantastic.
This place was warm and inviting! We had very attentive folks help us to our room. And made sure our stay was perfect. They upgraded my room because it was my birthday and it certainly was appreciated. The was very clean and calming. The grounds were lovelywe enjoyed a walk on the beach and time by the fire pit. I wish we could have stayed longer!!
The location is beautiful (private beach!) and rooms are mostly good, but we encountered a couple issues:
1) Our first room had a loud humming noise from the water heater. They couldn't move us that night, so we had to use earplugs to sleep. They moved us the second night when it was much better but still noticeable.
2) Customer service never answered their phone, and wasn't able to immediately give new keys for the room after requesting the change (person was new).
3) The window was loose in the second room, so the wind made it bang a bit in the middle of the night.
Still may return after checking for a quiet room, but they need better soundproofing.
We have been here several times over the years, the service is always excellent and the rooms are very clean. The only downside from previous years was they stopped the individual golf carts for the rooms and now you have to wait for a shuttle every time you want to go to or from your room. Most of the time the shuttle was pretty quick but close to dinner time we had to wait about 15 minutes.
What a great experience! My wife and I headed here for some R&R and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Beautiful, isolated location. Excellent accommodations, and proximity to beach. Weather wasn't very beachy, but still was able to enjoy the bonfires they set up and watch the sunset over the Pacific.
We also enjoyed a massage and we were both quite pleased (and further relaxed.)
We only wish the on-site restaurant renovations were completed, but alas, they were not. That being said, they had a respectable room service menu with soup and sandwich that were both excellentas well as a charcuterie and cheese platter.
Finally, the staff was courteous, prompt, and warm.
We look forward to being able to stay again in the future!
My family stays at this hotel every time we go to Monterey Bar. We will be frequenting the hotel more now that we have the college to come to. All rooms are well maintained and the property is really nice. The staff is great and the happy hour is fun and relaxing. Enjoy this gem on the water. Apparently, the resort was purchased just after we left the last time. We will be traveling there in June - I will do another review then.
The room was literally feet from the beach. One of the best places to stay, location wise, in the Monterey Bay area. The room was clean and nice, but not overly luxurious. Room had a nice kitchen with a stove and full size refrigerator, which made meal prep easy. Would stay here again if I had the opportunity.
Oh my goodness. This place was AMAZING! Free wine & cheese every night. They have their own private beach so its very quiet and wonderful. We saw whales from our porch. The fire pits were amazing on the beach and the rooms had fireplaces that was wonderful too. They also have bikes you can borrow and ride all over the town! Its so great and close to other awesome places. I wish I could go here all the time.
