I did read the previous reviews regarding the service and it is evident that the staff and owners have too. We came in late morning on a Thursday - they weren't particularly busy - and we were greeted immediately. Kassie served us and was attentive, asked if the food was all right a couple of minutes after we were served, and asked if we wanted drinks refilled several times. A good effort!

Delicious! Suggest you spend time looking at the menu before you go. It’s hard to decide what to order. Love that they have dark roast coffee.

Ate here on a Saturday morning, close to lunch time. Food was good, waited an extremely long time for our breakfast. Three parties that I saw come in after us got their food before us, one finished before our food came out. Our wait staff was somewhat apologetic, but no real explanation. In honesty, it could have been a lack of a certain ingredient, we saw a staff member arrive with grocery bags. Our wait staff also had to be flagged down whenever we needed something, more coffee, a non-salad fork for my food, etc. Her avoidance of eye-contact would have made a box-store employee proud. It appears that when the wait staff have friends in for breakfast, service suffers a bit for the other diners. I also echo the comments about lack of acknowledgement when we walked through the door. If the casual disregard is part of their schtick, it doesn't work for me.

Food is good. Use local vendor and farmers, which I like supporting. However, service misses the mark. They aren't the type to ask you how your food is or refill your coffee. Ask for eggs over easy, and get one over easy and one over hard. Egg shells on my plate. Quantity small for price; ask for 3 scrambled and get 1-2 scrambled. It's unfortunate.

Awesome breakfast. A bit of a wait but not bad for such a busy place. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you're close by.

Very fast service! I love that they use local food and options are natural & organic but they don't charge and arm and a leg.They have both unique and classic breakfast food both which are AMAZING. Its a bit small and you'll be jam packed in the restaurant but its worth it. You WILL HAVE to wait if you get there at a popular time ( 10:00 am on a Saturday/Sunday ) use your common sense when it comes to that. Its worth the wait though! I highly recommend this place.

The riverhouse cafe has both unique and classic breakfast food. It has some amazing vegetarian treats. When I have guests I take them to River house and they are always amazed. This is a classic small town breakfast gem.

We have been looking for a nice spot for my family to meet me for lunch during the week. After trolling reviews in Milford my wife decided on the Riverhouse Cafe.
I arrived prior to my family and asked to reserve some seats. Three servers were working and not one greeted me with any kind of smile. The energy in the dining room was not inviting, so much that I even asked if I had the right place.
When my wife and family finally arrived I parked the car for them while they went inside. I could tell immediately by my wife's expression that she was put off by something. We're easy going and not very needy - after both working in the restaurant industry my wife and I always tip 30-50% knowing how hard the job can be. But in this instance, the place wasn't very busy and there's really no excuse for not making people feel welcome.
We ordered our food and it came out fairly quick, and for the most part was good (which is why this isn't a 1 star, good job kitchen). When the check came, I left the waitress 40% hoping it would make her happy, I would have left 50% for a small lunch, but wasn't really feeling the love!
My wife told me after we left that when they came in the door no one said anything to them, and didn't seem like they wanted our business.
She apologized to me for suggesting this restaurant as she knew this may be the last lunch I had with my 85 year old grandmother from CA.
Thankfully, we were able to lift everyone 's spirits with a walk in the park across the street.
Next time I think we'll give the Red Arrow a shot.response / report this review -

Nice place to hang out for brunch. Watching the traffic and the bandstand on the commons while you eat already fresco is very nice and the view of the river out the back window is very nice. Eating at the counter is also fun. It's busy, can be a bit crowded & noisy inside during a rush. The food is delicious & locally sourced from surrounding farms. Service is prompt and friendly. The grill occomodated a special request, Two sandwiches, with a pickle, fries and coleslaw, a Mimosa, and two sodas came to $30.00 with tip. Very reasonable! Very pleased! It's our new go to dinner in the Milford NH area.

Prices are a tad high. Food is pretty good not great. Ordered eggs over medium and they came back barely over easy. Sent them back and they came back looking the same. Did receive a slight discount on the eggs. Always a wait here. Good view and cozy setting.

The food here is fantastic and all local and organic. The service, however is slow. Since this is the only organic-centric restaurant in the area I suppose they can afford to be slow. For those two reasons you should be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend.

Amazing breakfast! Huge menu, the best breakfast potatoes I have ever eaten. Freshly ground coffee and the dark roast is delicious! Highly recommend eating here every Sunday!!😀

Came in today for breakfast didn't want to wait at another place to get breakfast. Very glad we came here to try them out. Food was very flavorful and fast service and price was very reasonable and on par with what you would expect to pay.
