Excellent staff! Absolutely wonderful place to go with the family. Easy drive, usually no traffic, quiet place with easy parking and great views. Highly recommended!

I have been to the restaurant at Mt. Charleston resort many times, and will continue to go there as it's the most convenient place to eat while up at the mountain. The food here is pretty good, in my opinion! I like the tomato soup bowl for lunch, and they have a lot of pasta dishes for dinner. Unfortunately, the reason I rate 3 stars, is because the management here is lacking. Every single time I have been here, there has been a severe lack of employees, and food wait times are upwards of 20+ minutes. It's a struggle to even get your water filled up. Another reason for the low rating is because last time I was here, another table offered to buy wine for my husband and I. When asked what wine we wanted, we said we would like the cheapest bottle. The manager of the restaurant kept asking questions and suggesting certain wines, even after we asked for the cheapest. After we had gotten our bottle, we overheard from the other table that it was $50. I struggle to believe that this was their cheapest bottle. I found it quite disrespectful that they would take advantage of the other table's generosity to upsell a bottle of wine. I hope there are more options up at Mt. Charleston soon, and I sincerely hope the owners of the lodge will reconsider the management at the restaurant inside the lodge.

The resort looks amazing from the outside, and the common area is nice as well. That being said, every other interior is dilapidated and dated. The rooms are cozy feeling at first, until you realize that everything, from the beds to the outlets, are extremely aged and don’t work properly.

The next issue was soundproofing. You can hear people sneezing and talking from many floors removed. The walls are paper thin and offer little privacy or silence. This compounds with the fact it’s a pet friendly resort, so dogs bark all day and night at the slightest provocation.

The resort is also listed as being a half hour away from Las Vegas, which is true in the sense that you’re a half hour from Vegas city limits. Doesn’t do you any good if you want to go to the strip. You’re in it for at least an hour each direction at that point.

Overall, an uncomfortable but scenic stay with no plans to ever return.

Beautiful little lodge, had a great time staying here, but the staff all had the tiniest bit of attitude until you showed them they were kind. Also, the lights went out between midnight and about 6am and no mention of it was ever made by the staff or front desk. While not a huge deal, I was surprised by the lack of acknowledgment. Despite that, we had a great time and I would be more than willing to come again.

A fun place to visit so close to Vegas. Great old style amenities and games. Beautiful views and a friendly staff. Kids can get a little rambunctious if left alone.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The surrounding area is beautiful, calm, and serene. Loved the food too. It gives off a very cabin and cozy feeling. However, there isn't an elevator. The rooms are outdated and weren't very clean. Our mattress didnt have a cover under the sheets - the pillows were literally laid on the mattress - which was concerning.

We stayed over with a coupon with a room stay and a free dinner and breakfast. The room was great with the exception of our DVD player not working. The dinner we had was ok the waitress was awesome didn't catch her name but she was hustling. Now let's get to the breakfast. While the food was amazing the waitress was not the best it appeared she was by herself and didn't let us forget it we stood at the door for almost 10 minutes to be seated along with others. Someone from the front desk had to come and help her. With that one little irritation the stay was great

Not the best food, but great service. My husband and I came on our honeymoon and left for a day to visit the grand canyon. They were very accomodating when returning. We plan to visit again one day for an anniversary!

First, this was our first stay at the resort. The setting is beautiful and the lobby area lovely. It has a very lodge feel. There were several things that need work though. I was very happy I was upgraded to a balcony room, however, those rooms are all on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. Lucky I just had a couple of small bags, but my husband did have trouble with the stairs. The addition of a stair lift chair would be a very welcome addition, in lieu of an elevator. I believe the write up on trip advisor mentioned a mini fridge in the room, there was none. I could be mistaken on this point though. The views from our balcony more than made up for it.

There is no smoking anywhere inside the property, however I was able to use the balcony, and of course outside. They keep the property clean as a whistle in and out. And the huge duck pond hosts a variety of cute little duck families, so outside you do have to watch your step, even though they hosed the patio area down several times a day.

They are seriously understaffed for breakfast. I have no complaints about the quality of the food though. Dinner was a whole different story, in a good way. Even though the resort was hosting a 110 person wedding reception, we were seated promptly (make a reservation!) and the service was prompt and attentive. Thanks to the recommendation of our bartender, Albert, we both enjoyed the bison meatloaf. Delish.

I had no delays at check in or check out, even though we were a late arrival. I would suggest the addition of a person to run the bistro, as the desk clerk had to run back and forth, so I can see where this might cause delays. The gift shop is privately owned and was closed the entire weekend, which struck me as strange. Anything I needed to know, all I had to do is ask. If you're looking to get away and just relax, this is the place. Hiking and horseback riding is minutes away, skiing a little farther.

And, to the jerk who was so very rude to the restaurant hostess, grow up! Sweetie, I didn't catch your name, but he had no right or any class to speak to you that way. You were nothing but sweet and gracious.

I plan to return and see the improvements that Lauren explained are in progress. You can't beat it for the price.

While I get that others dislike this place b/c it's old, it's also cozy and charming. It's the ONLY hotel on the mountain, AND my meal was good, and the people were all friendly. I felt bad that one waitress was there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. THAT was a long shift, lol.
My room was clean, beds firm, cold a/c, good shower, good TV, and the fake fireplace was a delight. I paid the Friday rate (not weekend), so it was cheap, too, about $60. Simply gorgeous views, and top of mountain was 15 minutes away.

Beautiful views. About 30 minutes from Las Vegas and 20 degrees cooler. The resort is nice, our only disappointment was that there were no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms.

Had a very pleasant 2 night stay. Had it not been for the pet friendly environment I would of spent the long hot weekend in Vegas. Thank you for being a pet friendly hotel!!! I had an upper room with a balcony, although small it was very nice siting out there in the cool mountain air. The room is a bit dated, but thats ok too much outdoor activity. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker in the room - But they have a nice little snack/coffee bar down off the lobby. Very friendly staff!! The restaurant takes "to go" orders which was very convenient. Again, thanks for being pet friendly

This was the perfect escape from the big city. So stress free and nostalgic of home. This is mountain life, nothing like those annoyingly huge overly extravagant hotels of vegas. It's beautiful out here, and you get to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains in luxury. The king suites with the balcony are worth it. Very cosy, romantic little getaway. It felt so comforting and relaxing because it was so homey. I found this place to be quite charming. I ate at the restaurant two nights and every meal was delicious. I even got to eat breakfast, steak and eggs next to the fireplace.

Hotel exterior is well kept and beautiful with great views and location. Inside needs a remodel, mostly room and restaurant. The lobby has some arcade games that make the place feel very cheesy and ruins the rustic feel. The rooms have a cute fake fireplace heater and beds are nice. But there are no fridge, coffee maker, or microwave inside. The TV remote and box are old and confusing. The restaurant has so much potential but needs a paint job and window cleaning, what I can say the food was Amazing. I got the Bison Meatloaf.

Nice location but no food; not even milk for purchase. Bring you own food/ drink as there is no store or gas station for 20 miles. Please watch for wildlife on roads.

Friends took us here to hang out because it was cold out Beautifully kept, old classy. We were only in the lobby, didn't actually stay at the resort. Rates were reasonable for off season though.

horrid staff. these guys double book regularly. do not use them as a venue for a wedding!!!!!!!!!!! not unless you plan to shell out tons of extra cash because they double booked an entire floor! worst customer service i have ever seen. doesnt deserve to stay in business. one of the most crooked and shady hotels in Nevada.

I took my kids up for a day trip & we had such a great time! We stopped in at the resort to hang out after our hike. We fed the ducks in the pond, played some old fashioned pinball & arcade style video games, giant Jenga & checked out a cool little crystal shop. We're planning another visit this weekend!
