This ski resort is an excellent opportunity for a break for kids and family to enjoy some ski and surfing experience or just a tube slide
If you have to then go. Disorganized office. $30 for tubing for 1.5 hours (went down 4times) so it is really $7.50 per ride down for less than one minute. Saying that the tendon was really nice pushing avoid people down the slope on the tube.
Beautiful canyon. LOTS of areas to camp, great hiking trails, and very easily accessible. Only about 40 miles north from Downtown Las Vegas. Make sure during the ski season you have tires or chains as the roads can be a little rough. Ski Lodge at the bottom of the canyon however it is still about another 12 miles up the mountain till you get to the ski area.
Love it here, just wish there were more hiking trails.
Went in summer and took the lift to the top. Very nice and peaceful. The restaurant at the bottom of the lift offers sandwiches and salads and drinks. Extremely friendly staff. Lots of picnic areas right before the entrance if you want to include picnic plans with a trip on the lift. $12 for adult ticket. Very for the ride and view.
So much more then expected. Close and easy drive from the strip. It is just a couple of turns and about 50 minutes from downtown.
Nice staff, plenty of different terrain for beginners and advanced. Terrain parks are excellent. Moguls and tree skiing. This is a hidden gem and makes for an easy day trip.
Had a great day at Lee Canyon! The complimentary intro class are good, the staff is nice. The beginners' slope gets a little boring after a while but the other slopes are too advanced if you are only starting. If you know what you're doing the rest of the slopes are great for a fun day.
This is a small ski area that packs a punch! It is affordable, and such a fun way to get out of Las Vegas and into an alpine environment.
The slopes are filled with beginners, but there is great tree runs, and a decent park. There is hardly even any lift lines despite the lack of a high speed quad.
Their bar and food is so awesome, and they have a big outdoor seating area which is great for enjoying a beer and some tunes.
Snow coverage is decent, but not guaranteed. Be careful!
Three stars for price, three stars for location, five stars for accessibility, five stars for the awesome staff!
I am not a monster skier or snowboarder, but I do enjoy hitting the snow when it's available. For her skiing to be available in the desert of Nevada, it is very exciting! With that being said, this place definitely does not compare to, say, what's available in California and Colorado. With that background, I think paying $100 for gear rental plus one day lift pass is kind of steep because you can get it cheaper at those other places. It is balanced out by the fact that you get a complimentary instructor if you are new! The bunny slopes are friendly, and they have at least two other lives to help you go to more advanced routes. Definitely a fun time!
Pro tip: there is a open gorgeous Park area that is free and ideal if you just want to bring your kids out for a snow day!
I had an amazing time here! The resort is having their best year ever and is planning to expand with a third lift. As a beginner boarder this was the perfect place for me. I was comfortable on almost all of the blue lines. For advanced boarder there are black lines as well!
