Well worth the trip! Food, service and atmosphere as good as it gets in NH. A must visit!

Love what they have done with rebuilding the Woodshed, the wait staff works very hard to ensure a great visit, the food is good not great, prices are very high. my issue is the manager, check in desk, and the bar restricted entry.. for all the good they are doing these couple areas continue to make the visit less than pleasurable. On my last 3 visits I was not allowed to check out the bar area I was grabbed, stoped, and told I could not view this area. You need to send these people to hospitality training. you need to be better than this. a loyal 30 year woodshed patron

My family and I recently went to The New Woodshed during our vacation. We have been going to The Woodshed for over two decades and tried the New Woodshed last year. Last year we went with a party of 12 and were all able to sit at the same table and the food was delicious. Well this year things have changed! Sadly, we don't plan on ever returning to the New Woodshed. First off, they now have a policy where large parties cannot sit together. We went with a party of 8 adults and 2 kids. They sat us at two different tables and when we asked to push them together the staff refused. One table was also in front of the fire exit (seemed like a violation to me). We had a difficult time talking to one another and our food came out a different times as if we were two separate parties. We had called two weeks in advance so this should have not been a problem. The food- We did not get a kid's menu or drink menu. They also took our table orders at different times. My husband ordered a beer and it was not available despite being on the menu. They also messed up our drink order. Our family always goes for the escargot and it was extremely bland this year. Almost no flavor!! Our meals were fine, however we were never given our leftovers to take home even though we asked for them to be packaged. :( Overall we were extremely disappointed and saddened that our yearly family dinner will have to take place somewhere else.

Called @2:30 to make a reservation for 3 on 8/17. I was informed that they hadn't finished their schematic and assured me they would call back in 20 minutes to let us know if they could accommodate us. As of this post at 4:21. There has been no response. Needless to say we made reservations elsewhere. I found this to be inconsiderate and unprofessional and will not be making another attempt to visit. There are way too many fine restaurants in the area.

GREAT service from Amy. They accommodated our last minute reservation and made our party of 6 (including 2-year-old) feel completely at home. Steaks were amazing and perfectly done. Service was timely and oh-so-friendly. So happy they're back!!

A hidden gem with great food in a beautiful location. The New Hampshire lakes region is great in any season so the ride to this spot is worth the time and effort. Cap this off with great meat and seafood dishes and you have a winning combination.

We ate in the bar, which was nice and comfortable. Two waitresses came past our table, both said they would be back soon. A gentleman in a suit finally came over and gave offered to get us something
To drink. We ordered onion soup as an app followed by prime rib and a black and blue steak (black seared on the outside and very rare but warm on the inside) Two minutes after getting our soup our meal came. Told chef pushed our meal thru because of a ten person order coming though. Now we had to either enjoy our soup or start our meal. When I cut into the steak the center was as cold as being taken out of the refrigerator. The waitress kept coming back knowing the restaurant needed to correct the meal. She took off 1 soup off the bill and gave me a new steak, which I ate as my wife sat there, as she had already eaten her meal. Nothing like the original Woodshed the grounds had been famous for, or maybe just an off night.

The rebuilt the restaurant but they kept the burnt duck saucehere's a little insight on the "new" wood shed. For starters I went with the escargot, which always included spinach. The escargot itself was flavorless. The only flavor that came from the escargot was frozen spinach and olive oil. Then we went to the main course. 2 people at my table ordered prime rib. One ordered a 10 oz and one ordered a 20ozthey both came out the same exact sizeenough said. I ordered the duck which came with a lovely burnt sugar vinegar sauce. Tasted and had the texture as if someone scraped burnt vinegar off the Pan onto the duck. Another note, the duck came out with just TWO legs. After a 500 dollar bill, I highly suggest you take your money somewhere else.

Beautiful and similar to the old Woodshed but newer and up to date. Great building. Service was prompt and friendly, Julie was our waitress and was excellent and great sense of humor. The meals were fantastic, I had the lamb chops and my wife had haddock. Couldn't be happier to see this grreat local restaurant back in business and even better.
