The staff here is always friendly. The food is great. The patrons include locals and tourists from all over. There is no set dress code. The staff dresses in business casual but patrons can be dressed in suits and dresses down to shorts and t-shirts.
We went here for our first wedding anniversary. The steaks were nice and tender and cooked just the way we wanted them and our waitress was super nice. I would suggest getting there about 30 minutes before they open because they fill up fast or making a reservation. They have seating near the creek as well, but I think you have to reserve that specific seating. All in all it was a perfect way to spend our anniversary.
We always enjoy dining at The Peddler. The quality and service is consistently good. It isn’t the cheapest dinner in town but that’s not the experience they offer. It’s a little old school- lots of wood, whiskey, and meat.
If you’re lucky you can catch a glimpse of one of the many bears that stroll by. There’s lots of windows overlooking the mountain stream and side.
Weekend nights are super busy. If you visit during the week you shouldn’t have any problem be seated quickly. They offer call ahead seating for one hour prior to arrival.
Absolutely wonderful food, and wonderful service to match! Make sure you allow plenty of time when you go though. The wait can be up to hours. They do not make reservations, but there is call ahead seating. We called ahead, and the wait was 2 hours, at the time. We found it advantageous to sit in the bar area with a little to no wait. But no matter how long you wait, the meal is absolutely worth it! The entrees come with a salad bar, and the salad bar was amazing! Very well stocked salad bar. Steaks and grilled trout was delicious. My wife and I shared a chocolate cake with ice cream for desert. It was huge! Between the two of us, we couldn't finish it all.
This location serves great food and the staff is great. Arrive early to put your name on the seating list 1 hour before opening. Great salad bar. Excellent desserts.
Great place to eat! Been coming here 20 years and just finally stopped it. Steak was superb and salad bar has many choices!
My tip is to call at 4pm when they open and add for call ahead seating and request window table. If you slide in when they first open the lounge serves same menu and have window seats as well but first come first serve!
We have been going here for years this has to be the best steak around. However the best part to us is the salad bar. I am not a big fan of salad, but I will say that the peddler has one of the best salads I have ever had. The service was fantastic and not to mention the beauty of eating by the stream. If you are anywhere near the smokey mountains this has to be one of your stops.
This location has really gone down in quality. We have come here for years, and were never disappointeduntil this time. The rib eye was not even room temperature, the baked potato was so cold it wouldn't even begin to melt butter. The servers were very good, and I commend them for that. With that being said, I believe it is the server's responsibility to make sure the food he/she brings to the table is at least warm, or better yet, hot, if that is how it should be. This was, obviously, not the case. However, for the price you pay for the 'Peddler' experience, this was a complete disappointment. And, very lacking in quality. After speaking with several other customers while exiting, this was also their experience. Unfortunately, this may be our last dinner at this Peddler.
Make sure you make a reservation for a table with a view. They have a beautiful view of the Forrest and river from large picture window panes.
I had the New York strip and grilled trout combo. It was excellent. The fish had a wonderful taste. Just as it should be, the char on the skin of the trout was flavorful and crispy. The salad bar was nice and fresh with good dressing.
I recommend the chicken almond soup. It was my favorite part of the meal. It was one of the best soups that I ever had. I because of it, I have give the whole experience a 5 out of 5.
Great food. Great salad bar. Friendly staff. Competitive pricing. Good for romantic or family. Reservations suggested. It is one of our must go places when in Gatlinburg.
Been dining here for many years. Service is great. The food is generally very good. I enjoy the trout and steak options the best. Outstanding salad bar. A bit disorganized in their seating and reservations. We will continue to dine here for our special occasions.
Very decent steakhouse with an above average salad bar. This place has an upscale menu and price but with a casual clientele probably due to the tourist crowd.
Great steaks and chicken. I think they tried too hard on the stuffed shrimp. Too much cheese and breading. Will be going back to tweak my order.
We love this place! It's a pretty far drive, but we go for our anniversary every year. You can't beat the salad bar and the steaks are usually wonderful. My wife usually gets there twice baked potato, which she swears by. If you somehow save room for dessert, they are all wonderful as well.
The best stakes in the area. The concept of a steak peddler is unique and enjoyable. The food is always top notch. The salad bar is very good too. The service has been excellent each time I've been here. I recommend highly recommend the Peddler for a great steak or a nice evening out.
