This review is for the new Blakeney location. We were so excited to go because we have heard such great things about the Liberty. When our food was served, one meal was cold. No check back at all, ever. My drink was dry through the entire meal. It’s so sad when a new business makes such a bad impression upon weeks of opening. We were seated on the bar side which is half the restaurant. The bartender took our order, a runner ran it and nobody ever came back. If they’re going to make the bar side a full half of the restaurant, surely someone outside of the busy bartender should be in charge of checking on someone. After waiting another 15 minutes after we were done eating, I had to go to the bar to ask for our check. The bartender/waitress seemed to avoid me for about 5 minutes. She then asked if I wanted a drink to go after leaving my drink dry for the entire meal, never checking back and making us hunt for our check. I left a tip in case it was shared with the runner who was chipper. Extremely disappointed.
Fun drinks. Good food. Different menu options. Awesome burgers. Fun atmosphere. Definitely will go back!
I always hear mixed things about the Liberty but this last visit was fantastic. We had great service, the beer selection was extensive and reasonably priced, and there was also a smattering of cocktails and Wine. I went with their burger topped with a fried egg which was perfectly cooked. The pecorino dusted fries were a great portion. I personally finished my whole meal but if I'd drank more than half a beer it would have been a struggle. Glad we pivoted from Tupelo Honey
This review is reflective of the service not the food. I went to The Libert to celebrate two friends birthday and it was a large group. The front end of my experience was good, the problem came in when it was time to pay the bill. I gave the server my debit card to close out my $23 bill and when I went to sign the receipt I saw that my card had been charged for $359!! Just as I noticed, the sever came running back and said “don’t worry it did not go through” and took the billing envelope back (I assumed to correct my bill but she did not say nor did she apologize for the error). Naturally, I pulled up my bank account and sure enough it showed the $359 as “processing” which meant that my balance was immediately reduced and I did not have access to the funds. I tried to wait patiently but it had been several minutes and I had not seen the server. I went to look for her and could not find her so I asked for a manger. I was assured by PM supervisor Alicia that the bill was not closed out (whatever that means) and this type of thing happens all the time (what???!) and whenever it does as long as it is not closed out the transaction falls off in the morning. I work in banking and that did not feel right to me. Typically it takes a couple of days for these types of things to fall off and $350 is not chump change. Everyone seemed so cool and calm, I guess because it wasn’t their $350!! I asked about the procedure if it doesn’t fall off as she said and she gave me the owner Matt’s #. Sure enough, I pulled up my account the following day and the $350 charge is still there. I call the # provided for Matt and am told he is not in and that there was no one there that could help me. The best they could do was take down my # and they would be sure he got the message. No one could seem to tell when he would be in because he was “busy opening another location.” Nice. The pub burger and fries I had was great but the sloppiness and lax attitude of the staff ruined an otherwise joyous occasion. We will see if Matt returns my call and does anything to make this right.
Great burgers, parmesan fries, crab cakes and it's a plus that the veggie burger was also delicious. A great place for drinks and a good meal. We will definitely return.
This is a fantastic place to get burgers. We got the Colorado Lamb Burger and the French Dip Burger and both were fantastic. I also tried the Crunch Burger that my friend got and it was very good. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think I liked the French Dip Burger the best. We got the chips and mac and cheese as sides. Both were good, but the fries were better. They were Parmesan fries which the menu didn’t specify. They changed the menu from the previous time I was there and I think the burgers were even better than they were when I was there last. They may just be my favorite burgers in Charlotte. I’d highly recommend checking it out! Plus as an added perk you get 7% cash back with Yelp cash back.
Fantastic food, great service. You'll be in and out quickly with a full belly. Relaxing atmosphere.
The brunch steak and eggs with tomatillo salsa verde was a fantastic pair with a rare steak. Had to grab an extra side of it, it was so good! Atmosphere is very casual, a mix of tees and collared shirts here. Could be as fancy as you want it to be. Will be coming here for brunch from now on.
First time at The Liberty! I'm visiting Charlotte for work and had the chance to make it out here for a quick snack and drink.
The beer selection was a group of great tasting beers and had better selection than most Denver pubs.
The burger was the perfect combination of savory and light. Yes an American Burger that feels light and is hand made from the patty out. Perfect burger to topping and bun ratio.
This was not my first visit and it's a long drive from home. I am always looking forward to the many flavours, freshness, and unique combinations in everything served at The Liberty! Go there!
Highly overrated and overpriced. The burgers were overcooked (asked for medium, served well) and had no seasoning (no salt, pepper, spice, etc). The meat seemed of average quality/flavor. The buns were good. Side salads were served with no dressing and none was offered. Kids burgers were basically the same as a regular portion. Ordered two different beers but we were served the exact same beer. All for a mere $75
Really great food, great location and great atmosphere. Our server DeShawn was very nice and seemed to be very helpful with anything we needed, which made the restaurant feel very welcoming. The portions are great and the prices were a little high up, but it wasn't too bad considering where we were in town because everything around here has higher prices.
Overall a very great restaurant and experience.
Fun place to visit. This restaurant participates in Queens Week (Restaurant Week). Food is above average for pub food. Interior is unique and conversation worthy. I recommend any seafood dish. The trout is delicious. It is located conveniently beside one of the Rail stops
Staff was very accommodating, though I was there during a very slow time. Good selection of Beer and wine as well as cocktails. Food is above average bar food with above average prices to go with it. Delicious burgers and sandwiches with some amazing pub fries and several great appetizer options. Can't speak to the late night scene but otherwise a great spot overall.
