Great experience for the whole family! Lots of exciting shows and musicians to keep both adults and kids entertained. Some fun rides as well (for an extra cost). Good selection of fair type food and sweets. The turkey legs are a musttender, not chewy, and great flavor. Decent beer selection as well, though lines are frequently very long. Several bathrooms (porta-potties)are fairly easily accessible from anywhere on the fairgrounds. Lots of artisans and unique, hand crafted items for sale. The joust is well done but seats fill very quickly so head over about 30 minutes prior.

This is a great place to go with your family, on a date, or a group trip. It makes you feel as though you're in medieval times. There are vendors selling great things everywhere you turn, from insence to swords to giant turkey legs and bread bowls. The staff is very friendly and seem to have a close bond. I would offer one piece of advice, make sure you have a lot of money you're willing to spend. Everything there is pretty heavily priced. Other than that, is a great place for people of all ages.

Lots of fun. The performers are experienced, entertaining, and charismatic. The food is also great. Only flaw is the prices: $25 per person, food is a bit overpriced, merchandise is obviously a bit expensive. However, there is a lot of free entertainment once you enter, like scheduled jousting tournaments, theatre actors, many musicians, and lots of high-quality costumes. Overall a nice experience.

One of our favorites and we go every year! The actors are fantastic and truly make you feel part of another world. You'll taste great foods, good drinks, fun things to see and do as well as engage in your own treasure hunt in the various shops along the way. Make sure to take in the joust! Go and spend the day ~ you will not regret it! We've been going as a family for over 13 years and wouldn't miss it!

Absolutely amazing experience! A magical place my family and I go every year. An interest that started when i was younger while visiting fairs in PA and MD is continued for my daughter at this amazing permanent location. Check out the great shows and attractions! Amazing staff and vendors :)

I LOVE this place. It's so wonderful, I go every year. The many free shows are worth the price of admission for sure, and the Artisan shops, costumes, and food are well worth the trip. There's truly something for everyone here, children and adults can enjoy lots of different activities. There are also opportunities to learn about the medieval lifestyle and watch the making of artisan crafts. There is also Jeff thing which is amazing. This place is great and it's a wonderful fall outing for the whole family!

We love the experience of visiting the Carolina Renaissance Festival! Everyone is so friendly and it's like taking a trip back in time. Get into character and dress up for the most fun. Wear your favorite costume. You'll see lots of pirates, princesses, and knights. You might even see some fairies if you know where to look. There are lots of shows to watch, musical acts, comedy acts, hypnosis, and puppets acts, just to name a few. You will have a great time. Bring home some fun souvenirs.

I had the time of my life this weekend. It was brewfest so obviously drinks were had. The prices for food and drink are surprisingly pretty reasonable. Most beer/hard cider/wine was about 5-6 bucks each. Bread bowls $6, pizza may have been $5. Games were fairly cheap. The performances were AMAZING. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful as well. Show up 9:30-10:00am and you're set pretty nicely for parking and walking.

I was slightly disappointed, but my family loved it. Not really a good value since you still have to pay additionally for almost all of the activities. Coupon was a little misleading. The food was great and the prices were about average for theme park/festival concessions. I'm glad I can say that I've been, but I probably wouldn't go again. I bought some earrings from The Twisted Spider, and I love them! Also, "Gypsy Jeff" puts on a great show, and so does "London Broil"

Festival is great every year and we have decided to make it a yearly event to attend. The only serious problem here is the food. It's barely passable and the line too 40 minutes. You also have to wait in two lines if you want food and drinks. I suggest you easy before you attend.

Lots of fun for people of all ages. Great place to go in costume, but just as fun if you'd rather observe than participate. Nice food selection, though seating is hard to come by. Awesome array of artists and artisans. I go every year.

This festival is amazing!! It was my first time and I loved it! Had a delicious turkey leg, cider beer and more beer!!! Saw several shows, and my daughter had her face painted It was very crowded though, but I would come back again.

I also wish they had magnets The ones they had were from 2013 or so. We also got funny hats!

I love this festivalso much. We first went to it when we moved to the area and wasn't sure what to expect, but it was great! There's a ton of food and entertainment, and it's fun to sometimes just sit and watch the people walking by. You'll fit in whether you dress in period costume or just wear normal clothes - there's a mix of each. You can even rent or buy a costume while you're there, if you're interested. We even took a special trip up to go back to it even after we moved away from the area! It's great being able to watch a joust, or listen to ye old comedians, or see a juggling act - or just shop around! It's quite large, as well, and the land is dedicated to the festival so there's never really other events going on in the space. That way, the buildings and stalls look much more authentic and permanent than a travelling or temporary festival.

Awesome! Going here is so much fun. This same company does Renaissance fairs all over the country. I've been to their events in Arizona and here and it's always a good time. Definitely check out Barely Balanced (the comedy acrobats) and the Falconry show (we had hawks flying right over our heads, touching us with their wings). Remember to bring comfortable shoes you don't mind getting dirty, cause there's no pavement and a lot of dust.
