Overall nice experience. Great places to enjoy the ocean/beach views. Nice fire pits. Beautiful interior. Deducted one star for the noisy TV's they set up for football games and noisy live entertainment on Friday.
The resort is a nice place, but I left something in my room. And it strangely disappeared. hum? The food is very good.
Beautiful historic resort. Friendly staff. We got cute notes from housekeeping. The cabana room is cute and cozy. Nice private beach to walk out to with our ocean front room. The Echo restaurant service was slow, even though there weren't many people there. But the truffle fries were good. K&P is in a convenient location with a lot around it. Close to Jekyll Island. Overall great experience. Wish we spent more time here. LOVE IT!
Rooms are hit or miss. Some are better than average, some are 1981 holiday inns.
Food and drinks are good, though pricey as you'd expect.
We've been coming to SSI for 30 years as have stayed at K&P many many times. The new lobby, bar and restaurant are quite nice, but the rooms aren't keeping pace. And when it's busy, the pool area doesn't have the chairs to keep up with such a large facility at capacity so you can lose your chair if you go inside for lunch, even for 30 minutes. And pool security supports this "towels don't reserve chairs" policy. Housekeeping is spotty at best, too.
In short, despite the nice facelift of the lobby area and the fact we've stayed here many times over the last 30 years, it's just not a place we'll return to.
I was visiting family who came from out of town for my wedding. They had 3 kids and there were two rooms including a pull out need in the den, there was plenty of room. We swam in one of the pools and the hot tub. It was a sweet place.
We enjoyed staying here twice so far. The historic hotel lives up to it's ratings and offers a very nice staff. We stayed in the Villas this time around and everything was fine though somewhat dated. Comfortable overall. Definitely recommend a few nights to enjoy everything around the area.
This historic and has a lot to offer. The lobby is beautiful and the stained glass for the function room quite gorgeous. Enjoyed sitting poolside and drinking Bloody Marys. Service was prompt and courteous. Only complaint would be that the only table available with next to a gate that kept on slamming shut quite noisily. I'm typically not a person to complain about something small like this however it really was quite jarring and was used frequently. For a hotel looking to curate an experience and image I would recommend Management try and figure out a solution. Otherwise very enjoyable and definitely worth stopping in for an afternoon. Did not do the Bloody Mary bar itself but that looks Wild I definitely will next time when I don't have lunch already planned.
We sat outside for lunch and it was great. The food was delicious. We ordered the cheese tray and it was yummy with cheeses, hummus, fruit, nuts, and crackers/bread. The wine and the view are amazing too.
I haven't been a guest in years but it was fine then. Still probably is, I suppose. The public beach access does everything it should.
Not very impressed. Room is tiny and smells musty. I understand it is a historic hotel but old doesn't mean musty. Staff poorly trained especially in area of hospitality. Over priced restaurant. Leaking shower head that had been doing so for a while because there was considerable water damage on ceiling. Housekeeping left much to be desired. Took 40 minutes to make a cheese pizza and deliver it up one floor. WiFi absolutely HORRIBLE. Only reason I gave it two stars was the view
Rooms we're excellent and so was the service; however, the lids to the coffee cups were dirty upon arrival and the drain to our shower was stopped up
Attended the Christmas Day buffet, and it was unbelievable! The carving stations included prime rib, ham and duck. There was an entire station devoted to seafood (raw/smoked/poached). The quality of everything was top notch. We could hardly decide what the best item was.
