Very nice except they turned off music in pool area at 9 even though it's open till 10. And fire pit was never lit even though it was perfect weather for it!
Beautiful hotel very nice and clean rooms, pool and lounge area was awesome. Beach front access was wonderful. Perfect stay for the world's largest cocktail party
Busy on the weekend. Decided to come to Jekyll Island as our vacation destinations are often chosen spontaneously. Hardly anything was available, and I couldn't get trivago or Expedia or the Hampton Inn Suites website to book a room, so I ended up calling and the lady was super nice and very helpful. She booked a room for us, literally the last available room they had. Prices were a little high, but it was last minute, on the weekend, and fully booked, so I was surprised it didn't cost more. Rooms are nice, clean. Hotel is roomy and off the main road. There is a parking lot here, with (I think) access to the beach. Also a pool. Driving distance to Driftwood Beach and close to city center for shopping.
It was a great stay overall. A few maintenance issues with the the room. But it was a very nice room with a great view. The website doesn't show near enough photos of the boardwalk or beach access which to me was the best part of the exterior. It's beautiful here and perfect for the weekend getaway we were looking for.
Some of my belongings were removed from my room during my stay. The housekeeping manager, Michael Taylor, did not accept responsibility nor offer an apology. He defended his staff and all but insinuated that I was lying about the situation. Taylor said they would investigate and contact me within a few days of the end of my stay. It has been more than two weeks since the end of my stay, and I have not heard from anyone. I feel violated by this experience, and it diminished what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing time for me and my family. Jekyll Island is beautiful, and I will return, but not to this Hampton Inn & Suites.
We have stayed here several times. Great experience every time. Clean rooms, well maintained property.
Love the pool and beach access.
The kids had a blast.
The staff are super helpful.
We will be back again soon!
The room was comfortable, and the staff members at the front desk were really helpful! The "hotel details" state "oceanfront hotel overlooking a beach." A few rooms (maybe fewer than 5) may be able to see the beach/ocean; however, a more accurate description would refer to "beach access." It is possible to walk to the beach via a "boardwalk" and climbing up and then down many steps (approximately 10 up and 10 down). We were disappointed that our room did not overlook the ocean, and my husband was unable to walk to the beach from the hotel (because of the steps and the distance). The breakfast was varied and adequate (but not excellent or delicious). Housekeeping gathered our trash but didn't remove all of it, and the room wasn't vacuumed even though we stayed 2 nights. The hotel was relatively quiet.
Service was great all around. The shuttle driver was so nice and never made us feel like a problem. Breakfast is free and there are loads of choices. Food is great. Noisy hallway one night (wedding) and the rest of the time has been quiet. Outdoors patio pool area is beautiful and clean and they play reggae music to get you in the mood. Short boardwalk to the beach through beautiful mangrove trees. Room clean and equipped. Microwave, fridge, coffee pot. There is sulphur smelling water but you only smell it in the bathroom so it's not bad. Ample breakfast seating area and medium sized bar area. Order food at the bar or through a window at the pool. They have appetizers, sandwiches like grilled cheese, chicken fingers, salads and more. Nice to order and sit in the ample outdoor table areas inside pool area and outside. We came in may and beaches had people but lots of room left to explore and many secluded spots. Great place and great Sandy beaches.
We love the Hampton Inn on Jekyll. The location is perfect! My only complaint is now they allow pets. Even as a dog owner, I noticed smells associated with allowing animals.
Great location on the less crowded Southbridge side of the island. None of the rooms have ocean views as the hotel is situated behind the dunes, but there are two very nice boardwalks that take you to the beach. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and seemed to enjoy being here. We were switched from a single king room to what we were told was a double queen room which actually turned out to be a double full room. Not sure why there weren't larger beds in the room as it was big enough to hold two kings comfortably. Speaking of the beds, this was the only really negative thing about this hotel. The beds were not up to the normal hampton inn standards. Excessively hard making for two poor nights sleep.
On arrival, there was plenty of parking available and the hotel itself was easy to find. The attendant at the desk was very helpful and check in was quick. The room was very clean. We had not issues with the bed or bathroom. There wall outlets easily accessible at the bedside. Internet was free and a decent speed. Although we did not use any during our stay, there were plenty of amenities available like a pool, gym, and boardwalk directly to the beach. Overall good experience for the price.
Outstanding facility with a very friendly, helpful staff. Especially Julia. She was a joy and always smiling! The breakfast was very good, well prepared and very fresh. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location is very peaceful and quiet. It is our go to place on Jekyll Island for comfort and value.
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff and lit boardwalk to the ocean. Beds were very comfy. We had a problem with the TV in the room, but someone came and fixed it for us. Very clean and a nice continental breakfast. Would stay again!
