Rooms are nicely decorated, and of an average size for an NYC hotel. There's an amazing restaurant and bar on the first floor, and some very nice outdoor spaces in the middle of Soho. My complaints are a lack of attention to detail. There aren't enough it conveniently placed outlets. The bathroom doesn't have a vent fan. It doesn't seem to get too steamy, but because the bathroom is a glass box, there's no sound isolation. Being in the room is basically like being in the bathroom acoustically. A vent fan would at least help mitigate that.
Very nice accommodations, good sized rooms, friendly staff. Rooftop has a really nice view
Terrible experience! They didn't have the room we were promised and gave us another, much smaller room with a tiny bed. Room was awful, like a prison cell with a view of a back alley. No dimmers and terrible lighting was beyond awful. No radio or Bluetooth speaker for music. When I turned on the TV to see if there were any music channels (yes I was desperate) they wanted $10 just to listen! What a joke. Front desk staff was rude, untrained, and disrespectful, with attitude. Decor is old and tired, walls are marked up and need a paint job. This is place is clearly run by people who not only don't care at all about hospitality, they don't know what the word means. All this, for only $500/night. What a joke. Oh, and the restaurant is awful and overpricedbut that's to be expected when everything else is too. Stay away!
A bit sketchy way to enter up to the roof but once there you are greated with amazing views, great bar and a pool! I was at a private party and they roped off a section with a waitress who was so nice. Will be back!
Chic but small rooms. The shower was nice. But the bath towels were threadbare!
Rooftop bar was amazing. It felt like a private oasis away from the city. The manager was also really friendly and checked in with us to see how we were doing.
We really enjoyed our stay at The James Soho. Everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful. We used the entire facility (rooftop lounge/bar, rooftop pool, workout room, concierge services, restaurant downstairs, lobby happy hour) and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
Great hotel! The Jimmy Rooftop Bar has amazing views and it's a must if you're in New York City. We ate dinner on the terrace below and had an amazing evening, with great food. Our waitress, Bethany, was friendly, fun, and probably one of the best waitress I've had in years. Next time I'm in New York, I'm going to stay at The James because my experience was so good!
Cool roof top lounge with a great view of the city and a cool love sign. Very expensive drinks.
Had a nice stay in a corner queen room. The room was a good size and I liked the bathroom, comfy bed, soft robe and the views. I didn’t take advantage of breakfast or any other amenities, really just used it as a place to sleep. One issue I had was that they could not figure out a way to extend the buy 3 nights, stay the 4th free January promotion. My office had made the original reservation for 2 nights. I decided to stay in town longer and switch to 5 total, so called the reservations hotline. The person on the phone could not figure it out and told me just to handle it at the front desk. Then the front desk told me that the deal was only available at time of booking. I extended one night and then stayed elsewhere for a few nights. The hotel was completely empty: it was the middle of January. Rather than figuring out how to extend the deal, they lost the rest of my business and the room (presumably) stayed empty. I would still stay again, but just do a better job on my end when booking to look at the deals.
I've stayed at different hotels in Soho and this is the best hotel by far. I've been there several times and the staff was always great and the rooms were large and functional. Great location too.
I stayed in this hotel for a weekend and I had a great experience. Very comfortably, nice and helpful staff . The only problem was that fact it took forever to we get a taxi or a uber to get out of there. I recommend this place.
My husband and I stayed at The James for a long weekend, to celebrate our anniversary. It was wonderful. We were surprised to have chilled champagne and strawberries waiting in our room, and a lovely note congratulating us. Such a caring detail.
