Good hotel, right by the beach. No breakfast or it would be 5*
Absolutely loved this hotel! Everything from the boho beach vibes of the decor and ambience of the hotel, to waking up and seeing the ocean out of my window each morning.
Conveniently located to everything on the pier and walking distance to everything including the beach and shopping on 3rd Street promenade.
The room was comfortable and the sheets were so soft on the bed.
Well-maintained facility, good service and affordable.
I love this place! Our suite was comfortable, the price is fantastic for the area, and you couldn't get a better location. We will definitely stay here again.
1 block from the Beach . Unlike a block-and-a-half from the pier entrance. The bedroom very clean and the beds for soft. I would describe some of the rooms like standing a little cottage. Had meat little Courtyard going between the different rooms and a stairway that went straight down to the beach.
What a gem after being delayed and arriving over two hour late we had a wonderful welcome from Carter who immediately grabbed our bags and settled us into this great little hotel. Great nights sleep. best ever. I want one of those mattresses but it wouldn't fit into my carry-on bag. Nothing was too much trouble for Carter or James, a couple of the other staff could learn from them as they was ignored when I spoke on our last morning. Not a big issue but not as affable as Carter and James. coffee and bananas available on reception which compensates for lack of coffee making facilities in the room. Would stay again, for longer, in Santa Monica as opposed to LA.
It's the Hotel California! Fun decor. Great location. Comfortable bed. Nice staff. The AC doesn't get cold enough for my tastes in the heat of summer. But otherwise it's the place you expect it to be.
Just went here to buy a shirt, the most attractive person happened to be working not sure of his name but he was so attractive and nice we decided to buy another shirt! would recommend going here and buying a shirt. (By the way this was around 9:30 on a Tuesday)
Love the location, decor, TV, bed comfort, cleanliness and bathroom. I stayed two nights. The first night was great. Slept great. Really fast (and free) wifi. But some time during the night, the heat cut out. It got down to about 50 degrees outside and probably low 60's in my room. Not acceptable. The next day they fixed my heat but when I got back to the room, both windows were wide open and the heater was running full blast inside. It was close to 90 degrees in there. I got that settled down by turning it off but also on night 2 there was no wifi. Not slow wifi - no wifi. Really the only problem with that was the front desk just didn't care. Kind of "Fine, I'll reset it again." Just an attitude. No one offered to do anything about the uncomfortable first night so I figured, I'd right a review and just not stay again. Too bad. I wanted it to be great.
Beds were nice and comfy. The room was pleasant and roomy. Bathroom a bit small. The room service was alright. We asked for a air dryer since the room didn't have one. We had to ask twice before one came. And the first one they brought didn't work.
I enjoyed my stay. The room had great views of the Mississippi river! The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was quiet and no external noise
I enjoyed this place. Staff were super friendly. It's right by the beach (walk down some stairs), and close to the pier. Beds were very comfy. Free tea and coffee with fresh milk are in the foyer all the time, and staff keep it all filled up. Fruit too - bananas only when I was there. I saw hummingbirds in the trees in the hotel grounds, which was a big deal for me. Wifi had hiccups but did work, and they actively maintain it.
