It was one of the most beautiful locations we've ever started! It was especially gorgeous at Christmas! I would recommend this to visitors of Winston-Salem.

Large rooms, the construction of the building keeps it pretty quiet, the little touches like wine and cheese, milk and cookies each night are nice. Friendly helpful staff all around. We didn't have to check out until noon. For some reason the wifi had trouble the second day.

Unique boutique hotel made from a converted factory. Rooms are spacious, with high ceilings, but not all that modern. You feel like you're in a bed and breakfast more than a hotel. A quaint feature is the cookies and milk offered in the lobby at night. There is also a free glass of wine in the lobby around dinner time. Nice fireplace and comfy chairs, free daily paper, etc. in the lobby. It's walking distance to a few unique, boutique-y restaurants. Each time I went to one, they were crowded and I had to wait.
All things considered, I liked staying there once, but would probably choose another place in the area next time.response / report this review -

Very nice accomodations and very good amenities—free glass of wine with cheese, cookies and milk, buffet breakfast. Perfect for a week day stay or slow weekend. We stayed a second time during a busy weekend and the place along with every other hotel was packed. This is a popular venue for weddings. The stage was right below our room. Luckily there was another room available and they moved us no problem. Great restaurants within walks my distance. We got the Italian restaurant and it was great.

This hotel is pretty cool. The architecture is amazing and all of the rooms are unique. The wine and cheese reception and milk and cookies are nice amenities. The breakfast was the same as any hotel but the coffee was decent. Definitely plan on staying here again!

Awesome cotton mill turned into a hotel. Near great restaurants and waking distance to downtown. Loved free breakfast and wine and cheese happy hour!

My husband and I recently stayed at this beautiful inn and were completely delighted with our stay! We checked in on a Tuesday and realized when we settled into our room that we'd been upgraded to a suite! The bed was super comfortable and the sitting area (room 160) was so cozy for watching tv or sipping tea. The only drawback is that the huge and beautiful windows that let in so much natural light during the day, also let in the street lights at night, but bring a sleep shade and you'll be fine! We hate we missed the cookies and milk before bedtime, but I'm sure they're delicious too! Breakfast was anything but continental--eggs, bacon, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice, muffins--delicious! Thank you for exceeding expectations Brookstown Inn!

The particular room for our wedding rehearsal dinner was just right. We had about 35 people and were very comfortable yet cozy. The food was tasty especially the crab cakes and the pork loin. This particular venue is better suited for events without the need for technology (slide show, dj, etc). One very nice aspect was the on-site parking. It was very accessible for elderly grand parents and less than 50 feet from car to door.

The total package.. From the bartender,, Mike, to the room and location, it was perfect!
I have to say, in all our travels, even staying in 5-star hotels, we have never run across anyone like the bartender at Brookstown Inn.
Mike was immediately engaging, fun, interesting and got folks "paired up" for a great time during the complimentary wine and cheese reception in the evenings.

I'm quite saddened at how suddenly the prices rose here. When my boyfriend and I began dating just over 4 years ago, our first major romantic getaway was a weekend at the Brookstown Inn. It was roughly $70/night for the King Suite and instantly became a favorite place with a very personal meaning. We went again the following year around the same time. However - over the last few years - the we noticed the same room is priced INSANELY at almost $300/night - offering absolutely NOTHING different than when it was $70/night. The charm of the historical atmosphere is sweet, but the rooms themselves and the area offer absolutely nothing worth the $300 price tag. You can stay somewhere right down the road for 1/8th of the cost and still be within walking distance of all the same stuff. For far less than $300/night, we started opting for a getaway in a private cabin in the mountains. Silly how even that is more cost efficient.

Great service, atmosphere, and you cannot beat the location to all the charming attractions of Winston-Salem. This was a gift for my mom who was raised down here and this place truly rekindled that Southern warmth. Thank you and God bless.

Stayed overnight for a business trip and couldn't be happier. Excellent rooms with rather unconventional designs due to their historical origins. Amenities like wine and cheese hour, nightly cookies and milk, and free hot breakfast in the morning were just icing on the cake. Would stay again!

Bed was great, very, very soft with big comfortable pillows. Few electrical outlets for phone, computer or other appliances. Very nice bathroom with great towels. Only one ice machine for 3 floors and it had no ice. Front counter girl suggested that we go back to the room and get the bucket and she might could find some. I don't have any big complaints it just wasn't quite what I expected. I would stay there again.
