My wife and I went to the Gin Joint while visiting Charleston this past weekend and it was a fantastic experience! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We were here during a Christmas event called "Miracale" where all of the drinks and food available are Christmas themed. I can honestly say that being there with my wife that night in the environment they have created is the most "Christmasy" I have felt in a long time. The drinks were all perfect and I would highly recommend the Gin Joint to anyone visiting the area.

This bar would not seat my friends and I. It didn’t matter how we split it. Between all of us, we are comprised of a physician, architect, mathematician, informatist, and an engineer all on Santa’s good list.. yet they would not seat us. The wait staff told us to go to one of the other “900 bars in Charleston” because we were bummed. Bah freaking hum bug. Go somewhere else for overpriced cocktails!!!!

Great whisky selection, not just gin. Solid scotch menu and one of the best bourbon selections that I have seen. Craft cocktails are well done and seasonal. The Christmas variation of an Old Fashioned, the Snowball, was very good. Some small apps but generally an intimate upscale bar. Fun place, will come back next time I am in Charleston.

I've been on vacation for about a week now and this is the best bar ive been too. The best bartender I have ever had. I was to get one drink and ended up having three along with oysters and a cheese platter. The walk home was a little rough because not only are the drinks delicious they're STRONG.

Weird experience. Came here for an after party after a pre wedding dinner. The good: The menu was very extensive and they have a section for "bartender's choice", which was creative. You pick two words and the bartender will come up with something for you. The bad: The servers were pretty apathetic. We had a second group that joined us a little later and the server refused to accommodate us. If she had a better reason outside of "we can't accommodate a group of 10", it would have been fine, but there was clearly space and she was pretty rude about it. Overall, not great.

Great little spot when it's not busy. The prices are high, but you have to pay for the cool ambiance I guess. Can't believe it took me so long to find this place.

Best place in Charleston for drinks, period. Highly recommended if you're looking for a classy selection. If you're feeling daring, try the Bartender's Choice. It's a great way to find new cocktails you didn't know you liked.

Wow! Quite the selection of drinks here! A little pricey but you will NOT be dissatisfied with whatever you get. We only had one drink because we had a tour to get to. If we are in Charleston again we will definitely visit again.

I don't like bars! HOWEVER, sitting outside and having a drink at a the gin joint was a wonderful experience. Their drink menu is original and creative. Very good service. I tried three mixed drinks there and they were all absolutely amazing!

Just a top notch cocktail experience at this "Joint". My wife and I had 2-3 different cocktails including the one where you choose 2 words from a list and the bartender surprises you with a custom cocktail. I chose "strong and vegetive" and got a tasty cucumber infused moscow mule. Also the carrot based cocktail was incredible. So many fun choices, oh and they have a small snack menuI got a couple of oysters (about $2 each?) and they were fantastic, hit the spot.

Excellent atmosphere! Did not eat, only drinks. The 2 we got weren't great but the menu was huge and its hard to rate off of 2 drinks. My advice, stick to what you know, dont go random.

Food was great. Cool atmosphere. We chose the custom drinks where you get to pick 2 flavors and the bartender goes from there and I don't think it he quite hit the nail on the head. We didn't complain though because my husband and I were able to switch drinks between us and that worked out! We chose the "sweet" and "savory" and the "bold" and spicy" options and I don't think the result quite fit what we were looking for. We would return to try it again to see if we got a better result though.

The cocktails I had in my three visits were outstanding. Don't have a single complaint. Sat at the bar and had 3 different bartenders make me their choice and they all did well. Would drink here again.
