I am going to attempt to only give facts and no opinion so you can draw your own conclusion based off of my story.
-I was sent here by another dentist office for emergency wisdom tooth extraction.
- I was informed by Dr. Strauss that I needed to have teeth removed via oral surgery.
- I asked if they could just be pulled since I had a wisdom tooth extracted in the past and it had just been pulled since most of it was still above the gum and this tooth seemed to be in the same scenario.
- I was then informed that it was too far gone and had to be removed via surgery and could not be pulled.
-We then discussed pricing
-I had been informed ahead of time that I would only need a $75 co pay
-We then discussed a $400+ procedure I could not afford and I was informed that I had to pay it upfront or I could apply for a credit card through their office
-Upon informing them I only had less than $200 on me since I had only been told to bring $75 the diagnoses of what needed to be done to my mouth changed
-The tooth I was told prior could not be pulled was now being pulled
Now my opinion: The nursing staff was very nice and helpful. Dr. Strauss came off nice at first but by the end just struck me as a liar and a con artist. He acted like he wanted what was best for me and even used the phrase "this is what I would recommend if you were my brother" but then his story and demeanor changed when the amount of money I had was lacking. He seemed very rough with the procedure using my bottom lip and jaw as a pivot point and was very cold after I didn't have the appropriate funds.
I came back after two weeks still in pain. Once again the nursing staff was very nice and helpful. When Dr. Strauss finally looked me over again he made me feel like a junkie looking for pills when I was just concerned about the amount of pain I was still in after two weeks.
I will never step foot in this place again and I will inform everyone I know to steer clear.response / report this review -

I had Dr Oliphant for an implant surgery and Tracey as the assistant taking care of me. I was nervous and they made it easy. Tracey took excellent care of me calling me down, getting my IV in easily, briefing my husband on post op care and helping me get to the car after. I'd definitely recommend this office and team.

Unbeknownst to me, was quickly referred (within the hour) to these folks for emergency tooth extraction to stop infection. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally. I will definitely go here for my next unplanned emergency extraction!

Excellent customer service, My son had a emergency situation and I was having a hard time finding a Oral Surgeon who would see him for same day service. I called Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery and talked to Hannah and stated my sons situation and immediately she did everything she could to get him on the schedule. My son said everyone was so nice and took very good care of him. Again a big THANK YOU from the both of us!!!!!

He's a super nice guy, but honestly, he's a liar and a con artist. I know those are very heavy words but I honestly don't know any other way to describe it.
It's really simple to conclude this about him, as he has 2 different prices. One for regular extraction and one for surgical extraction.
A surgical extraction is more difficult and you need to make an incision into the gums and take the tooth out, sometimes in pieces. A regular extraction is just that, you pull it like any other dentist.
The reason you go to someone like him is because he can give you anesthesia and put you under so you don't have to go through ANY pain, that's what it's all about and that's why you pay him the big money!
I don't mind paying him extra for that service. But he should have a charge for the anesthesia and then he should be HONEST and charge you for a regular extraction.
He charges everyone, and I mean absolutely EVERYONE the price for a surgical extraction but yet? He's not doing a surgical extraction. He's not cutting the gums, digging out the tooth and then giving you stitches back!!!
He's just extracting the tooth like any other dentist, and that my friends is what you call a liar!
He gave me a price to pull many teeth so I could get dentures and he priced it all out for surgical extractions. Even though I knew all of my teeth were very wiggly and could probably be pulled very simply, I didn't question it because I'm not an expert. I figured maybe he could see something by the x-rays that told him the tooth would probably break and he would have to cut me open and dig them out.
I emerged pain-free no doubt, but all of my teeth, 15+, came out perfectly and not ONE time did he have to cut open my gums and and dig in the teeth out.
In short, he didn't do one surgical extraction even though he STILL charged me for surgical extractions
So be warned, whether it takes him one second to pull that tooth out or 10 minutes to cut you dig it out and put stitches you're going to be charged for a surgical extraction trust me!!!response / report this review -

I got all 4 wisdom teeth out with these guys and I was so scared, they were kind, polite and gave me clear instructions and advice which helped my nerves. They didn't waste anytime once they called my name which I loved! The dental assistant communicated really well with me and made me feel comfortable, they were done with my teeth in 40 mins! I didn't feel a thing, I was in and out. My healing process has been amazing, following the after care helped! I had to double check that they actually did take my wisdom teeth out because they did such a good job! And they do Care Credit- easy way of paying the bill. Highly recommend!

I received the best care from the time I arrived to my departure. The staff and dentist were both kind, caring and considerate of my fear for dentist visits.
Only part I did not care for was completing my patient info on the tablet. It was a little cumbersome and seemed to take more time than it would have to hand write the documents. Other than this my experience was GREAT!!!!response / report this review -

Great staff! Very nice! They treated me very well! The doctor was fantastic and explained what he was doing as he was working on my tooth. I chose to be awake during the work so it was really great to have someone who really cared about his patients.. I would recommend to anyone!

I enjoyed the experience with Chas Oral and Facial surgery. Dr. Sarathy really took his time with me and had such a great bedside demeanor. I am very pleased with the final effect that he performed for me. The entire office staff were very warm, cordial and like family. I would go back again and trust in his expertise. Thanks again.

Top Notch!! All staff members were extremely nice and courteous, as well as professional. I went in to get a wisdom tooth pulled and by the time I had been given my analgesic, to the time I left the office, was less than 20 minutes. Very quick and painless but done professionally. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you to all the staff that helped. You are top of the line!
