Tipped my hat to this Old Chicago experience. The rich Fish and chippy chips were quick to please, accompanied by a quaint Irish coffee with thick cream rubbing my lips the right way. The real star was our native Chicagoan bar-tress who not only who suggested some bubbly water with bitters which made me wonder why La Croix was still in business, but had the personality and presence to create an unforgettable lunch. The other connoisseurs of fresh finger food amplified the mood with great conversation and interjections. Cool spot with history.

I had the best food of my life at this restaurant! The Thai Coconut Curry was delicious and their New York Strip was perfect. Best steak I've ever tasted! We ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert and it was amazing as well. Wonderful service, atmosphere, and food. Would highly recommend to any and all friends!

Primo location off Michigan Ave, close to Millennium Park and the Art Institute. The food is reliably wonderful, with a concise but capable menu with interesting daily options. Attractive interior with a beautiful bar as well.

Great drink menu and location, good customer service. I had a soup and the lobster roll. The soup was good, the sandwich was not because the spice overpowered the lobster flavor. I would try something else on the menu if I were to go again. The server did take the sandwich off the bill since we were not satisfied.

Nothing wrong with the restaurant but the only problem I have is with the Google reviews. They have it marked in the $$ price range and the appetizers were 20$ and some entrees were in the 50$ range. It should be more appropriately labeled. Even the cheaper entrees were between 20 and 30$.

Great food and drinks. The ambience is elegant but yet casual. The bar area is good size for casual get togethers.

Great service & vibe. Food was tasty, brought out as asked with all modifications made properly & was hot! Fish and chips were nicely battered with thick chips! Elk rack was smaller in portion than anticipated but, still glad we tried it. Mussels, great twist with the vindaloo sauce! Venison burger, cooked to the right temp, not dry and very flavorful. Would definitely go back!

In the best and biggest away all I can say is Wow! We came here for our daughter's 21st birthday brunch--the restaurant decor and cleanliness was phenomenal, the food was fantastic in its Irish flare and Doody our waiter was over the top in the best of ways with his humor, professionalism and service! We asked if he would take a picture of our group and he took us to do different areas of the restaurant to Stage the photos for us! They have a fantastic party room downstairs and it's second bar that we have to find a way to use someday and would recommend to everyone!

I've been going to the Gage for almost as long as they've been open. Every single time, the service has been impeccable. The food is always good. The drinks are always good. When there's a hiccup, the staff is always accommodating or fixes it immediately. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to enjoy great food in a unique atmosphere. Party up front, elegance in back, a place to sit for every mood. The food was fantastic. Plenty of selection and variation. Nice wine list. All in all a spectacular venue.

This place was great! Superb service, yummy trendy foods. We went two times during our stay in Chicago. The brunch was wonderful! Had the hash with hollandaise sauce and the bagel with smoked salmon and they were both excellent! Great location also right across from millennium park!

Visited 5/6/17 for drinks around 10 PM. Nice enviroment, clean and well organized. My only issue is customer service. Simple question: what are your gin options? No response, just tossed me the menu. Guess he saw how disappointed I looked and he was able to name a few. Made no the difference as my drink was made with mostly tonic. The place was busy, so I guess they are doing something right. "No drink for you, come back in 6 weeks"

I ate at The Gage twice in the span of three days because it was so good. For dinner before a show, the server was aware of our time and made sure our food arrived quickly. A highlight was the bison tartare, which the server mixed at the table -- it was creamy, flavourful, and very shareable. Lunch was very busy but I found a spot at the bar. The bartender was helpful, service was prompt, and the soup of the day (sweet potato with pear and shrimp) was deliciously satisfying.

This was our second visit. Another great dinner experience. Both our server and the manager were super professional and accommodating. It's a very well run place: Water glasses were filled and dishes bussed quickly and efficiently. We loved the poutine especially. The desserts were fantastic. It's a great place to take a break from your day in Chicago with great food and drinks: They have a great selection of draft beer. For its prime location (right across from the Millennium Park on Michigan), the Gage is of great value. Will visit again.

Another excellent fine dining experience. Our server, Jeremy, was helpful & the ultimate professional. The Mediterranean Sea Bass was fresh and flavorful. The Veal dish was good, but a bit underwhelming, though I was probably spoiled on the great appetizers. Thanks again for helping make our anniversary memorable.
