My mother and I went here for lunch on Sunday. There were very few people there. I had a lot of trouble with the menu. All the categories and food names were in Italian.
I thought I was ordering a pasta dish. It was just shrimp and vegetables. When we talked to the manager she said it was a second course. So I guess I was supposed to order another dish to make it a meal? It was very tasty but I left feeling hungry.

Francesca's North is our go-to for any meal that deserves a little extra attention or celebration. I've taken business clients there for lunch, my husband and I have enjoyed birthdays and anniversaries there. It's where we take visitors from out-of-town. I love the quality of the food; the menu changes with what's fresh and in-season.
I've never written a review of Francesca's before, despite the fact that we've been long-time patrons. Recently, though, they went over and above, and I have to gush.
It was my sister's birthday. She had come from out of town with my stepmother, and eight family members were able to be there. It was a special celebration, and I shared the reason with Stash. He made sure we had a perfect dinner. The waiter took his time between each course; everything came out together and we never felt rushed. The food was perfect (as always) and we had plenty of time to enjoy it and each other. At the end of the meal Stash brought my sister and step-mom special deserts, which were divine, and turned out to be on the house.
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, reasonably priced, great service, and they really care about their customers.

Last Saturday we celebrated our anniversary at Francesca's and brought the whole family. It was more crowded than usual, our server was nice but a little on the slow side. The food was good as it has been in the past but the crowd, noise and slow serve was not the norm. We seem to have better luck on week nights.

We were in Northbrook on business and slid into the restaurant at 8:45, knowing they closed at 9. We were prepared for an attitude and received none. They were happy to have us. The Alfredo and gnocchi came out piping hot and tasty. The wine was fantastic as well. We also enjoyed the soup of the day. By the end, we were too stuffed for dessert, although the chef was willing to stay late and make some for us. We were back at our hotel, full and satisfied, within an hour of leaving it.

Franscescas has been out go-to restaurant for the last 20 years!
From the beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, and great food, it is a true gem in Northbrook.

The menu changes to reflect fresh fare, from seafood to steak to pizza, and of course their pasta. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal there ever.

The price point is right on, lovely wine selections, kid friendly. it just has it all.

Excellent Italian restaurant in downtown Northbrook. Rotating menu and daily specials range from multiple pasta, fish and meat dishes. Pizza always available. Great place for a special occasion or a family night out. The staff is outstanding. Last time we were there for a birthday and graduation and they bought the whole table dessert. Class act!
