Great place, but parking place is not clear for any one coming for the first time. Great music. Good drinks.

We used to visit the old location a lot. First time at this one an hour ago.
Waitstaff was stellar. Food was horrendous. Had the beef tenderloin sandwich. Bread was stale not to mention microwaved. Beef was cold. Bacon inedible. Cheese was hard and cold.
Appetizers were also not what I remembered from old location. Frozen. With so many great places now in the heart of Libertyville I cannot see this place survive. Sadly.response / report this review -

I love a good Irish pubthis one was not really? I have nothing terrible to say about these guys, I just felt like everything was average. Food was, in my opinion quite a bit below average.
Loaded tots were so sadso sad that they made me sad. Fake cheese, not crispy, hard, "bacon".
Nachos were a hodgepodge of ingredients, and unbalanced in my opinion.
All the other stuff (cover band, beer selection, service) I wasn't super into, but that's just a matter of my preference; peeps seemed to like the vibe.
It's just thatthe food was not even a little good.

We had recently held a private event at Mickey Finn's, and couldn't have been happier with the experience and treatment we received. Kristen, the event coordinator was friendly, knowledgeable and offered some good recommendations for our budget. The Amber Room looked great and was prepped & ready to go; the staff was on top of everything and went out of their way to accommodate our needs (both in regards to providing some additional display materials we requested last minute, and utilizing a variety of A/V solutions for our presentations). The food was excellent, and our buffet was restocked promptly. Overall, VERY happy with the experience, and can't recommend Mickey Finn's enough for private events.

I'm sure this is a nice place to grab a beer, because they have an extensive beer list. However, I wouldn't recommend the food. My husband and I both ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. They were very thin, not well seasoned, and very dry. Came with lettuce and a tomato and that's itvery dry, flavorless sandwiches. Even the mac and cheese that we ordered our kids didn't taste like anything. Also took quite a while to get our check. Won't be back.

OMGwell, lets just say I'm glad that there were other breweries on the way to and from this horrid place. For one, the waiter took forever to get to the table and had the personality of a brick wall, I honestly don't think he even looked at us ONCE the whole time we were there, he just looked at his little computer ordering machine, complaining about it the entire time. On that note, 75% of our order was messed up. The waiter told us that the communication with the bar was bad, and it was, our beer order was messed up. Then one of our burgers was missing the bacon and was VERY well done, when we ordered medium. The manager, who never came to the table, apparently approved taking off 1/2 our bill because of this. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Solid place. Great beer selection. I had the orange infused bourbon barrel aged stout. For was good too, typical Irish fare, live music rounded it out into a nice evening.

Atmosphere is good. Server was friendly. Veggie burger was not good. Very heavy on the rice and not tasty. I still have a bad taste in my mouth. Pretty sure it was purchased from somewhere and not made fresh here. I was surprised that it was served dry and had to ask for mayo, waiting quite awhile while our server chatted up the next table.

I went last week and Amanda served me. She was very polite and nice. The place looks nice to. When I got the food everything changed.
I ordered the wasabi burger. The patty is like a whopper thin but very dry. The pretzel bun was hard and chewy. Like it was toasted but left out for a while. The bacon in the burger was hard and brittle. The fries were chewy and cold.
The food seemed like they wanted me to leave. My server brought me new bacon and new fries. The fries were still chewy and gross.
My friends and I were sitting and eating and buying drinks. The band began to set up on the stage behind us. Some guy in glasses came to our table and said were closing your table in 5 minutes. Didn't introduce himself just basically said we have to leave.
If you want good burgers do not eat here. If you want to sit with friends and have drinks don't go here. I'm sure a lot of people will still eat at this place to meet other singles but the burgers are horrible.I do not recommend this place.response / report this review -

I'd give 0 stars if I could. If you want to serve yourself from beginning to end, then this place is definitely for you! However, if you're expecting to be greeted, seated, and actually have your order brought to you, then sadly you've come to the wrong place. We walked in and after realizing that a host wasn't going to greet us, we found the only open table near the front. After sitting for at least 20 minutes unattended, I decided to approach one of the staff members and asked for a menu. He said that I could take one, but we would not be serviced where we were sitting, and that we would have to walk up to the bar to order. This information would've been very useful when we first walked in, but hey, better late than never they say! I went to the bar to place an order for drinks and pizza. Mind you, the place was packed that night and a live band was playing, so yelling across a crowded bar while attempting to place an order was an interesting experience. The bartender looked like he had better things to do and made me feel like a nuisance from the get go. He prepared the drinks and gave me a receipt with the pizza on there. Apparently it's their policy to have the customer pay for the food BEFORE it's even prepared. Oh and it didn't occur to the bartender that a customer might want to know how the food was going to make itself over to their table. Imagine yourself in the middle of a busy bar area of a packed restaurant, nowhere near your table. Naturally, at some point you'd start wondering, "Gee, I wonder how they're going to bring me my food since I'm not sitting at the bar? Am I supposed to stand in the middle of this packed bar and wait for my food, and then attempt to carry an entire pizza while plowing through the crowd???" I got the bartender's attention to ask him that very question. His agitation still hasn't worn off by then because he was just as "pleasant" to deal with as before. He just gave me a blank stare (like I'm some sort of a nut job) and didn't provide any instructions, so I told him where we were sitting and pointed to the exact location. He nodded and we left it at that, so I assumed someone would bring it to us. Well, we waited patiently for about an hour, but the pizza failed to find us (didn't see that comingenter eye rolling emoji). My friend went up to the bar and asked about our pizza (because at that point I would have rather chewed off my own arm than dealt with that bartender). Apparently the pizza was sitting at the bar this whole time because they didn't know where to bring it (surprise surprise). Then again, why would they care since (as mentioned before) it was already paid for?!! They brought the pizza to us finally, but of course it was stone cold by then. I just looked at the guy and said, "We are not taking this cold pizza because that's not how a pizza should be served." He asked if I wanted it taken off the bill, to which my response was, "Noooo, we want a freshly baked WARM pizza!" Then, after speaking to one of the bartenders, the manager came by and I was hoping for an acceptable resolution of some sort, but what was I thinking? He told us that they couldn't make another pizza because something was wrong with their oven and it wouldn't heat to a desired temperature. Are you kidding me??? We must've really looked like we were born yesterday. Had that been true, he could've offered to prepare us something different, perhaps something that didn't require baking. However, it was nearly midnight by then and the restaurants in the area stop serving food around that time. It would've been highly inconvenient for them to prepare any food since I'm sure they had already started cleaning up. He took the pizza off the bill, but the least he could have done was treat us to drinks to make up for the inconvenience. After all, we were left without food and it was too late to eat anywhere else. Thanks for the unforgettable experience! Should I ever desire crappy service, this place is definitely at the top of my list!!!

I'm new to the area and often drive past this place. On Friday nights I always see people heading in and there seemed to be live music. As I drove past one Friday night, I randomly decided to stop in. I am so happy that I did. The place was packed, but people were very nice and made way for me to walk through. I was offered a seat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly, efficient, and attentive. I ordered a Long Island and watched the Blackhawks win. I even received some chips and salsa on the house. I really enjoyed myself and decided to go back a few weeks later with co workers. Definitely going to be a regular spot for me. Glad to have a place like this close to home.
