If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around
We loved this hotel and everything about it. The hotel grounds were amazing, with lush tropical foliage and 2 separate pool areas that had nice loungers and plenty of shade options in the form of cabanas and umbrellas. The location was awesome, sitting right on Mission Bay and next to a marina, it was hard to tell where the hotel grounds ended and the park began, it was all beautiful! The beds were soft and very comfortable, and our room had a big TV, with plenty of room to kick back and unwind. If you want to rent a boat, kayak, or a bicycle you can do it right there at the hotel. Great place for family's and couples!
My girlfriend and I stayed the weekend, we are about to check out. Some people might think we are posting this to soon but, with how friendly the staff is no matter who you talk to, I can only assume checkout will be fine. The rooms are nice, the view is great, the staff is super friendly. They have bike and net ski rentals right behind the hotel. They have two heated pools and spas. Dive in movies you can watch by the pool. For food my suggestion would be to take advantage of the breakfast buffet. Don't expect to be impressed with the doughnuts and for dinner go to The Red House Steakhouse that's right down the road. Lunch we did not eat here so we can not comment.

Lovely spot, rooms are close to street or parking so there is noise (also the pool shows movies in the evening - nice but noise during them). The rooms are narrow so the beds fill them entirely. Also the desk and side chair are dining style chairs rather than a true office or lounge chair. The patio seating is great. Beds and bedding excellent, plenty of hot water and towels given. Pool area is really beautiful, as is the marina. Restaurant is good - edamame were delicious, rice bowl only ordinary, wine list excellent. Service throughout the resort is excellent. Staff goes out of their way to be helpful.
Great location in Mission Bay. We brought our Paddle boards and were able to access the water right from the hotel. Restaurant was excellent. We had a wonderful breakfast with made to order eggs. The room was perfect for the 3 of us with 2 queen size beds
A great Hotel, Love the Dana
The Dana on mission bay has a nice location, convenient to the city centre and airport, as well as within walking distance to Sea World (free shuttle available). Good rooms and pools also. Only major critisism is the Firefly bar and restaurant which didn't provide the best meal (was cold on arrival) or menu options for dinner and the pictures can be very deceiving in terms of the fire pits etc. Overall however an enjoyable stay.
Pros: Beautiful grounds. Friendly front desk & housekeeping staff, room was clean except for a couple random bottle caps. Nice amenities having a microwave and fridge Cons: Paying $35 resort fee is ridiculous at a Best Western. Included parking and nothing else we used. Mattress was good, not great or super comfortable.
This was our first visit to the Dana Resort. It was a very pleasant experience for our entire group including children. We particularly enjoyed the movies that were shown at the pool area! What a great and relaxing idea that I haven't seen before. The children were quiet and absorbed in the movie and the adults were relaxing on the lounge chairs. Food was great and the beds were comfortable! Two thumbs up for the Dana!

We loved our stay at the Dana and recommend it. The two nights we were here were pleasant and comfortable. The only negative I can say is the new, extra tall pillows. They made it difficult to get sleeping comfortably. Stomach sleeping was impossible with he pillow unless you are comfortable arching your back. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and fun. All the other guests were nice as well. It was a great, relaxing atmosphere. The shuttle to and back from Sea World was a great touch.
We stayed here during my friend's wedding and we had an exceptional experience here! It is a little different than a "beach" stay, so if you're looking for that, I'd stay somewhere else, but the views are breathtaking. Our room was clean, cool, and comfortable and there isn't much else that matters. :) The atmosphere of the resort is very family friendly and there are many dogs around, which I definitely enjoyed! If we return, we would love to stay here again.
We have a dog, and The Dana is dog friendly. We had a wonderful room with a little lanai and grass for our four legged buddy. he loves it there and we did too. Make sure you get Kelly, for your breakfast server. She goes above and beyond!! Heidi & Fitz
This is a delightful place to stay in San Diego, but I believe the upgrade to the bay view rooms is a must. The view, the sunsets are amazing. Enjoying a glass of wine from your private balcony is special. The Firefly restaurant has stepped up the menu, the quality has improved, and the wait staff are extremely pleasant. The rooms are maintained by a very high quality staff, they see to your needs in a very professional way. We stay here at least twice a year, it's central to all tourist locations, but when you need to relax the hot tub and pool are there for you. Some of the finest southern California beaches are just a short drive away. Enjoy your stay----Cheers!!
Grounds are absolutely beautiful. The pools are awesome and great place to get your California Sun. The rooms aren't bad, they have a mini fridge for any items you want cold. Just be careful since they can get cold enough to freeze food. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms needed a bit more work, our light switch barely worked but was a large room. Overall nice experience that is close to a lot to do in San Diego.
Our family of five adults enjoyed our stay at The Dana On Mission Bay! There is a resort like feeling with all the beautiful vegetation everywhere on the property. There is a nice path we were able to take every day for our morning walks. It was central with all the activities we did during our one week stay in San Diego. We enjoyed the 'dive in movies' at the pool. We had at least one meal per day at the Firefly which we loved. We would definitely stay at The Dana again!
I absolutely loved my stay at The Dana! We traveled with a 6,5 and 2 yr old and it was the best trip thus far. The kids loved the pools, movie night at the pool and us mommies enjoyed the bar at the pool. We were able to rent beach umbrellas to board games at the front lobby free of charge. The kids loved it. Us moms got to enjoy a beautiful relaxing view by the pool while the kids splashed around and swam in the pool. Everything about our stay was just perfect, everything we needed was all here at The Dana. Water rentals,Beach rentals, bike rentals, board games, ect.
