Great room at great location and great service will most definitely be staying with them again next time I'm in south beach.

Despite the hotel's excellent location, I would not recommend staying here. We ended up having a room on top of a night club, which made it impossible to sleep. In addition, the rooms have a peculiar smell. I know most hotels in the area also have this, but the Clay Hotel has a resort fee on top of the agreed price, which I personally think is trickery and unprofessional.

I got very negative experience with their staff and client service. I stayed a weekend in The Clay Hotel and after reaching back to home I found that I was left some of my belongings into hotel room – 3 pairs of cuff buttons and one bartender set. All were brand new and in package. I called immediately to hotel and ask about my forgotten items. They took my number and promised to call back within 15 min, but nobody called. Same evening I sent written message to them with all my contacts. Still no response. Two days after I sent them e-mail about my worry and asked the feedback once again. Still no reply (one week later). At least the answer that they didn't found my stuff would have been response. But this kind of client service isn’t acceptable, so for your pleasant stay I recommend to avoid The Clay Hotel and look another one, there are many of nice hotels nearby.

I loved my room it had a balcony over the court yard, each evening there was music and great food, it was almost is if we were in a different country. And only a 4 min walk to the Beach. Which was PERFECT.
Valet was a must have since there is no parking, but they were always prompt.response / report this review -

We had made a reservation to stay for one night/early morning for one room, paid for the room over the phone.When we arrived to the hotel around 2:30am, the person at the front desk said there were no reservations made under our name. So we made a new reservation since it was 2:30am and had no where else to go. We were charged an extra $45 than what we were quoted when we try to pay the first time. When we got to the rooms, they were still dirty.. Blood on the pillow case, gross stains in the towels and the whole room/hotel smells moldy. The manager in the morning time was very nice. Did take some money off due to our experience though. This hotel needs help.

Newly renovated room was nice, but other rooms next door were still under construction so there was noise during the day. Room itself was sparse but acceptable, advertised as King but bed was a queen.

Room was clean. Good location. Close to the beach. Discount available if you eat at restaurants on Espanola way. I've stayed here twice.

The rooms were nice and clean but there was a wet smell in the hallways. It was great to be able to get towels, chairs and umbrellas as part of the resort fees. Although we were supposed to get 2 complimentary waters a day we did not. I had to go to the front desk on multiple occasions to complain about not getting the water. The front desk person, Luis, was very helpful and have us solutions to problems that may have come up. However, even with the complaints I would definitely stay here again. Close to the beach and plenty of things to do.

Great location in a historical 3 story building. Three block walk to the beach where they have chairs and umbrellas at no charge, which is what sold us. Updated room but no shelves or even a soap dish in the shower and bath area. No ice or vending machines or elevators. Small TV and little area for storing clothes in the room either. Small refrigerator, microwave , and coffee maker in room. Over all clean and friendly staff.

The Clay is perfectly fine - they have good area discounts (like 15% at A La Folie), have a beach chair service, and are in a great location, everything is within a ten minute walk. The only difficulty is the blaring music from the restaurant wars taking place beneath your feet - the bass is impossible to ignore, even with earplugs and goes until around 1:45 am on weekends. If you're a night owl, not a problem, but perhaps not the place for families!

Considered a boutique hotel,nice rooms ,still updating. Restaurants,shops just outside your door .only downfall is you can hear the music in your room.staff courteous. I didn't like that they charged my room for my reservation when I got there.

The best of this hotel is its position. But my room is next to the resturants street. The loud pub music can make you fail to fall asleep. Now it is past 12 am, but still very noisy outside.

The worst place I ever seen there was roaches and bed bugs in the rooms the rooms were so very small I had to move the furniture to move around. I also had to go to a store to buy cleaning supplies so It can be cleaned the right way. But they charged me for house keeping. And I had to buy my own toilet paper and the free breakfast was steal bread watered orange juice and warm milk for your cereal
