Wonderful service and the tomato apple soup. Sounds strange I know, but it’s good. Ask for feta to go with it and it becomes amazing. Good beer list with lots of interesting craft choices. Also neat ambiance inside a 19th century former cotton warehouse with exposed brick and beams. Definitely a repeat visit called for.

Hands down the worst experience ever!!!! We walked in as people were walking out and the hostess told us we need to leave the computers are down. We even asked if we could pay cash his reply we are not seating anyone. We then asked if we could get dessert from the little shop he told us no. We left watched people come and go after we left. We called the hostess told us they are seating people. We went back in he told us "oh you're back" we said yes we want a table. He seated us and started laughing with the rest of the staff and manager. Waiter comes over what do you want to drink and eat? It was very obvious the hostess told him not to be nice to us. Comes back with our dessert and slams the check down at the same time. We ate our food watched everyone around us have a pleasant experience but yet we couldn't even get a refill of our drinks. After we ate we talked to the manager and tried to explain how poorly the situation was handled by the male hostess. He didn't care and accused us of cussing at the hostess which we never did. We kept calm in a horrible situation. The manager told us to leave and the owner won't care about how we were treated. His words "you can call our owner he won't care." The manager made the scene in the end with how he handled the situation and the fact that other customers had to see how he treated us should be enough for you step in and correct your businesses customer service issues. I know several businesses that use your establishment and they will definitely be hearing about our wonder experience. To the owner if you have cameras I strongly recommend watching them. They will show you how exactly we were treated by your staff this experience has not been exaggerated at all. I really hope your general manager is not correct that you won't care and will give them all better training instead of just kicking people out. I've been coming there for years and I've never been treated so poorly. I've even had the waiter that I had tonight before and he was always pleasant in the past which is why I still chose to tip him despite how he treated us.

Really happy with my lunch the other day. Portions are huge, plan on splitting a dish and am appetizer with someone else and you might have room for cakewhich, you definitely should have. I had a slice of lemon cake the size of my head and it was perfect. Best fried green tomatoes I've had in awhile - zesty and still kinda firm, not soggy and floppy and bland like a lot if other places. Nicely breaded also. Next time, I would ask for the balsamic on the side, it was delicious, but a little too strong for the tomatoes. Too fresh to cover with balsamic, I my opinion. If I lived in Augusta, is eat here once a week. The good was great. The cake was fantastic. The servers behind the bar were so adorable, I wanted to take them with me for the drive back to Atlanta so we could talk about Dan Harmon for 2 solid hoursnerd on, boys.

I would like to give this place all five stars but I just can't. There are some things that could be improved big time. One would be the menus, they are so dirty when you get them. It's like they want you to taste the food before it comes. Gross! Next would be nice if they allowed you to sample the cake or cheesecakes before you get it. Since they are huge. Maybe a sample platter would be good. But other than that the food was decent.

I'm sort of wondering if this place is over-hyped but it's hard not to get excited about a restaurant that serves cake slices that are this tall. We ordered soup so we could fully enjoy our cake but for some reason it took over half an hour to bring us our soups. Then we asked for our cakes to go and he said they're plated and he'd bring them out Five minutes later. Once again, it takes us 45 minutes to get our simple orders. Downtown restaurants need to start hiring more chefs, maybe. Anyway, the soup was so good I wished I had ordered a larger bowl. I got turkey and rice, my friend got the tomato bisque (it tasted strange to me) and my other friend got the clam chowder. He said it wasn't spicy enough but I thought it was plenty spicy!! In order of best to last, we ordered carrot cake, lemon cake, turtle cheesecake (too rich), and red velvet cake. I liked our waiter. The restaurant itself looks like it's trying to renovate one thing at a time, and the latest was aquamarine accent walls. It looked great, but was incongruous with the rest of the place. If I come here again, I'll get soup and consider skipping the cake.

Holy cow the cakes are HUGE! Get your sugar high on!
We came here on a Sunday afternoon to get our sweets on and it was probably a bad idea. We got a booth by the back windows and our server was really nice. There was a huge dessert menu with 10 different kind of cakes, 6 different cheesecakes and other types of pastries. $6-8 each, definitely not cheap. We got 3 different kinds and we thought we got 1 slice. Well, the slices were huge. Perfect chocolate was probably the best one out of the 3 we got. It was the least sweet and the chocolate flavors were good. The coffee toffee and red velvet cake with cheesecake were both overly sugary and so sweet that I chocked on the icing. Probably 10,000 calories per piece if I were to guess. I went into heart palpitations after only eating a few bites.
The service was nice but absent at times. Parking was easy in the lot. Bathrooms not very clean.response / report this review -

Visited here for the first time and was very impressed. Our waitress Coco was very friendly and visited our table just the right amount. The food was fabulous. We ordered the spinach dip as appetizer. Each of our entrees we chose soup and shared. We ordered the corn chowder and the lobster bisque, both with absolutely the perfect amount of seasoning and full of flavor. I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the chicken. The salmon was excellent! The chicken flavor was great, although the chicken overall was slightly dry. Of course we couldn't leave there without taking a piece of their famous cake to go at least. We took home a slice of the tropical dream cake, rightfully named! The prices were appropriate for the food and fitting for those on a budget. I would recommend this place to anyone and will revisit.

The NY cheesecake and Canary lemon cake was amazing. The service was good as well. Definitely will try this place again. Wish they had paid more attention to detail to the yellow room as they had with the main entrance (cool basket lights had partly scrubbed red industrial stickers on the poles.) Also the bathrooms weren't messythey were downright dirty and needed a good scrub.

Always so good! We usually get sandwiches, and they are great, but today we tried the sirloin, and it was excellent as well. The desserts are to die for! We tried the Apple Blossom today and it was phenomenal. My husband and I usually share when we come here to save room for dessert. Good food and great service. Can't go wrong!

Outstanding in every way. The service was excellent, all our interactions were exactly what we hoped for. The food was perfect, each course was delicious on its own, while building toward an overall experience that made sure we will return. I look forward to future visits.

Boll Weevil Cafe is a great place to go for dessert. They do serve meals and have a bar with beer and wine. We came in well after supper and sat at the bar and shared a gigantic slice of hummingbird cake. We each had a craft beer with our dessert and it was all delicious. The bartender took good care of us. A cup of coffee would have been a great choice if we were heading out to hear some music later.

The food was excellent. I tried the apple tomato soup. WOW! The server 'didn't see' for about 10 minutes after we were seated. We had to ask the hostess if we were going to be served. Once the waitress 'saw' us, service was fine. Dessert was amazing. We will be there again but probably for lunch.

Right across from the Augusta Marriott and Convention Center this little hide away will cure you're sweet tooth! Great selection of homemade cakes and ice cream! I don't mean a little slice of cake either! Plate sized slices! Menu is original and unique also. When ur done u can take a walk to the fountain and river walk as they are located very close by! Very nice!
