Although we didn't end up staying here, Larry was great when we were in to check on a room today. Room we were shown was large and very clean. Nice place, very nice host! Extremely impressed.

Cute place. Nothing fancy and dated, but very clean and Larry is great. Friendly, full of information and suggestions for the area. Called for a reservation for the same night and he was booked. Five minutes later he called back saying someone had just cancelled and would we like the room - hadn’t even asked for an update if someone cancelled or specifically left my number. Great customer service, clean, and affordable. Would stay again.

Very nice, rustic rooms. Very simple, a little dated, but perfectly fine. The staff was very helpful and polite. Only negative is the cleaner they used had a very strong pine sol smell to it and I'm not personally a fan.

My family reserved a suite 1 year early. The owner ended up overbooking us and gave the room to another guest. We ended up in a small, low service room. Not good!

We stayed in the house on site and had a good time. Like others have stated the motel is a little dated but it is functional. Larry is a very personable owner along with most of his guests. I say this has a more camp ground feel than a traditional motel. Small play set on site, fire pit, pool table and sauna. If you don't need/want a pool or free breakfast, this is the place for you.

Friendly staffwilling to make amends for our shower not working immediately. Nice that a full kitchen is available. Rooms are spacious and had a futon pull out for our 5 person. It smelled like cats, but a fan was provided and we aired the room out. Quiet and clean sheets.

To preface my comments: my husband and I are in our mid-to-late-20s. We love hiking (not just country strolls) and do not require luxury accommodations; cleanliness is the top requirement for us along with value for our money. That being said, this was a near perfect visit for us. Late April still falls under winter rates, so we only paid $45 for a one bed room. I was a bit apprehensive just because we had never stayed here before but everything was fine. We checked in after a 10 mile bike through Chapel Loop and all we wanted was a hot shower. As we had been getting alerts that the northern lights had been quite​ active, we asked about good viewing places and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a map suggesting two areas depending on how far we wanted to drive. The next morning as we checked out he remembered to ask us if we were able​ to catch the lights (we hadn't but heavy clouds had rolled in just as the lights were supposed to be most active). No coffeemaker in the room but fresh brewed at the front desk. Everything I checked in the room was clean,no surprises. The only complaint I have is that I am under 5 foot and the bath towel barely dried me off; I can't imagine how all the snowmobilers coming through fare with those towels. Also my towel had a big ratty corner. Hopefully they can spring for some new towels for the summer guests. Overall I have no complaints and would strongly consider staying here again next time we are in the area; you can't beat the value for the price!
