I recently moved to Tucson from San Diego, CA and was recommended this place by some coworkers who overheard me say I missed SoCal Mexican food. I'm glad I went!
I first came here with a large group (10) and got to see a lot from their breakfast menu. It all looked amazing and friends said it tasted just as good as it looked. I was also super happy with my order. I'm a stickler about the sides and salsa, but this place delivered!
Only reason I gave 4/5 stars was for seating not being able to accommodate larger groups (had to split friends at the bar and at a table). Other than that, nothing but praise!
So we had a company Christmas party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were friendly and welcoming and Fantastic. The food delicious. We personally have food allergies and they were extremely accommodating.. The food was very good I would absolutely be eating there again!
1st time in tonight! It was almost 6:00, we were served by Gabriel with fast & friendly service. The restaurant was very clean and cute decorated nicely. My Husband ordered the chicken mole and enjoyed it. I ordered the relleno and enchilada combo which was good as well. We will definitely be back.
Really good food!! The service was fast and the good was really good. The shredded beef tacos we smaller than I expected, but the flavor was delicious and it ended up being pretty filling. Just spicy enough for my tastes. The dining area was cute with kinda funky tables. As I was leaving, I saw the flour tortillas being made, and that was neato burrito.
The most amazing food! The breakfasts are wonderful, fresh and filling. The wait staff are super friendly and if you're lucky you can watch them making fresh tortillas. We ate here way too many times while we in Tucson but we couldn't stay away. :)
One of my favorite places to eat! You'll never go wrong with anything on the menu. I had the Chile Relleno Excellent!!!
I must say the food is very good and the restaurant is always busy. Unfortunately, it's pricier than most restaurants in Tucson. The waitresses lack people skills and make you feel as though they are doing you a favor to take your order. I'd recommend a smile at the very least. Additional charges for chips, bread and other irems that should be included with the entrees. Im surprised that there isnt a surcharge for table settings and condiments. JT
Family owned Mexican restaurant. Our family has enjoyed dining here for many years. The quality of their food is consistently high, whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They get busy at times, so sometimes there is a little wait.
Went to the resturant at 11:45 am. They were only serving breakfast. The restaurant would not not let me order off the lunch menu. They told me I had to wait. I had my grandson with me and I was not going to wait. The food is not that great to wait on my Saturday. They lost me as a return customer. Went to Rosa's much better food. They serve breakfast all day of those who want breakfast. However, I am not a breakfast food person.
A Rare Miss?
I visited last night around 6 or 7 largely on the back of the reviews and a hotel recommendation. I think that my waitress was tired; She was friendly enough, but service was generally slow.
When visiting a local restaurant, I always ask for the most representative and best thing that they have. It was a bit of a tip-off when she merely pointed out the most expensive thing on the menu, and I maybe should have quizzed her a little more. Oh well, I guess we were both tired :)
The rundown:
1) The margarita had a frothy, low flavor taste to it and had zero tequila in it.
2) The pork loin was salty and overcooked. In fact, everything was salty and overcooked.
3) Salsa and chips were excellent! It's rare to find good restaurant salsa.
4) $30 for a drink and entree/tip.
The setting is Tucson nice/interesting, featuring a convivial atmosphere and a good view. I bet my experience would have been a lot better with a different dish (and maybe had a drink elsewhere:). I'd probably give these cats another try.
We found this place from DDD. We were at a nearby museum with the grandkids, and decided to try it. Glad the full parking lot did not discourage us, because we got seated and served quickly. Wonderful fresh (not battered and fried) fish tacos!
The best black beans I've ever had and the tortillas are hand made are also very delicious. The eggs were on par with other places and the rest of my dish was lacking salt. Good place to meet up since the atmosphere is very welcoming.
Food is really good! We've eaten here for 15 years now and like the food. This review is reflecting a bad server. His attitude from the minute he walked up to the table was as if we should be so grateful that he even walked over to take our order. He put off this air of being way too good to be taking a food order. It made the visit uncomfortable. We did bring this to the cashiers attention and her response let us believe that we weren't the first to complain. Hope this guy can can go through some training or find work that suits him better.
Have been going here for years. The ground beef tacos had no flavor. The cheese enchiladas had very little cheese inside, the chicken enchiladas had little flavor, rice unappetizing. This was all very surprising, most foods were flat. The hot sauces and the guacamole were very good.
The waitress was wonderful, made suggestions and always ready with refills.
New chefs? Changing flavors for the masses?
Hope they can fix these problems, have always loved Mosaic.
Fresh, amazing, authentic food. Best tortillas I've had in my life - hand made in front of you. I only went for breakfast but I definitely want to try lunch or dinner later. Coffee was not burnt like the kind you get going to an IHOP or Denny's so I really appreciated that.
Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get as well. The corn / flour tortillas are seriously worth it.
