I have been to the location in Scottsdale before and love it. When I found out this is where we were eating for UofA family weekend I was excited. We made a reservation and I'm glad we did because the place was packed. We were seated right away.
We were told about happy hour by our server and placed our orders. We ordered some trio of dips. We wish we had just done the guacamole because basically for the guacamole in the trio of dips they just give you the tiniest bit of it. We asked for more chips and we saw our server Jason take our chips to another table by accident and leave them there. It took over 5 minutes to get more chips after we had waited awhile and over 10 to get a refill if water. He then brought us a cereal sized bowl of salsa as extra salsa. However we still had a full cup of salsa from when it was originally brought out. We have no idea what the bowl of salsa was for.
I ordered the chicken al pastor tacos. I thought chicken pastor tacos were odd because typically al pastor tacos are made with pork. When they arrived they did not have pineapple on them like stated on the menu, they did not even taste like al pastor tacos and they were so spicy for me I could only take 2 bites. I LOVE spicy food so when I told my family they were too spicy they looked baffled. I NEVER send back food because I feel bad and uncomfortable doing so, but I had to otherwise my stomach would get revenge on me later.
Jason came to our table to check on us and I said that I was so sorry but the tacos were just too spicy for me. I handed him the plate and he said "well maybe some jalapeño touched the taco, do you want to try eating the second one?" What???? I was so confused and just asked him for regular carnitas but he asked again about me finishing the al pastor tacos. Look I know it's a pain for him to have to go back to the chef and say that I thought it was too spicy. I was already feeling bad about sending it back and very uncomfortable. I just wanted regular carnitas to replace. He brought out the carnitas after. They were just ok. I just remember Blanco in Scottsdale being so much better so I was a little let down.
The actual restaurant itself is super cool. The restaurant is opened up to the outside with plenty of patio seating and great views. I would totally go back and give it another chance in May at graduation!response / report this review -

Used to love this place however today we went & they changed the menu (it's much smaller) & really not impressed. It was my husband's birthday & he wanted their queso fundito really bad well NOT on the menu. We ended up just getting some generic nachos because there was nothing we really wanted. And I take issue with paying $10 for a Margarita in a small glass full of ice. We won't be going back

Good restaurant! Food was good especially the tacos (order a combo of your favorites). Chips were too salty for us, which is saying something coming from my wife. Overall good experience and cool venue.

Tonight my family had dinner at Blanco. The server spilled an entire class of ice water all over me and the inside of my purse. I actually had to pick the ice cubes out of my handbag. Although the manger came over and offered me extra napkins and checked to make sure my cell phone was functional nothing was taken off my bill, not even the $3 queso. I was polite and felt bad for the server, however I was surprised when the bill came and nothing was taken off. It's not so much about the money as it is about the princle of good service. The waitress said goodbye as we left however an apology would have been nice as my clothing was soaked. Disappointing and not ever planning on going back.

Location: In the La Encantda Shopping Center
The Skinny: Great food, margaritas were tasty and chips and salsa were on point.
Overall: I would not count this place as truly a "Mexican" restaurant but more of an urban Mexican-style restaurant. They have their own twist on classics like Guacamole and Tacos but nothing out of the ordinary. Their food was fresh, inspired and delicious. The Guacamole was tasty and fresh and I highly recommend! Service the night I went was very good with as busy as it was. Refills were plentiful and quick.
Tips:
- Sit on the patio: there is a great view of the mountains from the patio and the atmosphere is great
- Order the Guac. It was fresh and delicious

I enjoyed the service at Blanco ☺. Our server was Ashley, who was bubbly and full of personality! The food was ok. I will go back, just for the atmosphere and maybe a lite bite!🐾🐾

Never a bad experience, we travel to Blanco's all the way from Vail just to enjoy the great food and relaxing atmosphere. The seafood is always fresh and the Tequila is smooth. The staff and management is awesome and attentive.

Drinks were unbalanced and over sweet. For a place that prides itself on tequila, 5 of 7 margaritas sported Jose Cuervo: no bueno. Food was just shy of okay and not very Mexican at all. Customer service was fantastic.

Very disappointed. Was recommended by my cousin who lives in Tucson, but this place is nothing but a glorified Chipotle. $14 for stake burrito?? It was like the cutest little thing. They should call it baby burrito for babies. My wife got the 3 tacos for $14 as well, and although i can probably eat 14 of those little things, she doesn't eat much, so she was fine with it. The only reason i gave 2 stars and not one is because the waitresses are hot.
