Swain ski resort has a great hill for learning and having a good run. All of the cool people ski/board here, and you should too. Every trip here is a riot. I love coming here. The food is awesome too!

My girlfriend and I went there on a camping trip. The area is beautiful and the people at the local restaurant were so helpful and nice. I would recommend that if you're in the area you should make a stop at Swain resort.

Awful service last time we were there. Understaffed. Owner was rude. I won't go back.
Updated 4/20/17; I reluctantly went back, and it was a very good experience. The new owner has created a very friendly atmosphere. Edited to reflect change in Stars

Okay, full disclosure, I'm one of the owners, but I love this place and my Swain family! We endeavor to have the best, friendliest place for families to learn and to ski.

My kids loved learning to ski and snowboard on the beginner slopes at this resort. All the staff was kind and helpful. I especially appreciated being able to exchange the ski rentals for board rentals.

Wonderful learning opportunity for my Girl Scout troop. Instructors were amazing. Ski patrol was there when we needed them and the cost was great. We stayed the night in the main cafeteria dinning hall and the espresso cafe. We are excited to be a part of the first Girl Scout Jamboree and can't wait to see the patch they make. We hope to come to the event again next year. 👍👍

Great place for beginners. My wife, having tried Bristol, wasn't doing so well getting up and running with skiing until we went to Swain. The transition from the bunny hill to the greens is much gentler for beginners at Swain. It's been a great, casual, place to go for the day to get in some skiing/snowboarding for the both of us. Not only that, I broke my toe binding while snowboarding and Emily in the pro shop was extremely nice and helpful to rig up a solution to keep me going for the day. Saved me a lost hour and a half drive to go skiing. I highly recommend it.

I always enjoy going to Swain to ski. It is smaller than Bristol and very family friendly. The culture of trust and watching out for each other is wonderful. People will stop and ask if you're OK if you are struggling to get up after a fall. Swain also offers a lot of different deal options to make skiing accessable to all.
