I attended a wedding at The Belhurst and, WOW, how picturesque for such a joyous occasion! As expected, the facility was absolutely gorgeousonce I found the entrance. I felt that the sign, large as it is, was difficult to read. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the service provided was great. The food, however, left something to be desired. It was okay but not as great as I was expecting. In addition, there was a problem with the amount of food. Several people had little or nothing to eat; I don't know the particulars so I cannot say if it was an error committed by the facility or an issue with the guests that attended. The Belhurst tried to make up for it by exrending the time for open bar. Overall, I was pleased. I will not hesitate to attend another event there regardless of my experience.

Beautiful venue. Attended a wedding our table was one of the last to be called up to the buffet. They ran out of some of the main dishes. Apologies were made and they ordered pizza. By that time the reception stared and I no longer wanted to eat. They did try to rectify this but I thought it was a little too late. Everything else was perfect.

I was attending a wedding. As soon as u turn into the grounds it is so nice. As you enter the building it is elegant, also so friendly are staff members. Decorations to food was very NICE

Our wedding went off without a hitch at the Belhurst Castle. The grounds are beautiful and made for the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony - no arch necessary!

The four best words to describe Carmen and Dana's service cool, calm, polite, and professional. They did an excellent job shepherding guests, bridal party and family.

Similar qualities were demonstrated from the Belhurst staff. We could not be happier with the service, values, and memories made on our wedding day at the Belhurst Castle.

My daughter got married there in July, 2017. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire staff. They were flexible, kind, extremely accommodating and professional. Carmen, the coordinator, made sure that every detail was attended to. The food was very good as well. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, and we are thrilled that we chose to have the wedding at this amazing and unique place. We are extremely grateful and everyone had a great time.

It was my first time at Belhurst Castle. I went with my daughter which has been several times. What a beautiful site with the lake view. It's definitely a place you would want to visit and experience for yourself!

“Disappointing Mother's Day Brunch”

I booked a reservation for brunch on Mother's Day this year b/c I have been dining at Belhurst for probably 50 years. The first time was as a young adult and I had frog's legs for the first time!
It has been a favorite of our family for years and we have celebrated many milestone occasions there.
So, I was so terribly disheartened at our experience this year. I was not told that it would be in a huge reception room rather than the castle.
The food was passable. Nothing exceptional. And, not nearly as much as the brunches of old.
The service was horrendous. I had to keep flagging down different waiters b/c ours was no where to be seen except when he wanted to be paid.
The bill was $126 for three people plus tip. My son, who is a kind person, tipped generously. Once the bill was paid, the server vanished with the check. We sat there with piled up dirty dishes and cold coffee. We had to ask other servers to please help us.

Then, to add insult to injuryI complained to the wife of the owner. She seemed to show concern and said that I would be contacted in a day or two. NO PHONE CALL!!!!

I have told all of my friends in Canandaigua not to go there and they are on board.
Really, how sad to have this beautiful place go downhill so far!!!

Mother's Day brunch was an extreme disappointment. We had been to the Mother's Day brunch several years ago and the food selection was vast. This year my husband made reservations two weeks in advance to be given the choice of ten am or three pm. The food selection was about one-third of other times we've been there. There was a very limited selection for breakfast items: omelette station, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. No pancakes, french toast, muffins, danish or hash browns. At ten in the morning I was not in the mood for garlic mashed potatoes, rubbery eggplant parmesan or the spicy chicken dish. I expected better for $36 per person.

Great time with great people! Staff was accommodating and guests were a lot of fun. Stayed in Billiards room and was very comfortable. Friends in Butler room were constantly bothered by loud kitchen directly below and deliveries early in the am. Dinner was great. Breakfast was only low point for us. Not included buffet left a lot to be desired, especially at such a higher level location. Didn't mind having to pay for breakfast, however we did expect made to order with a much better selection.

Stayed over for our 29th wedding anniversary and had dinner at Edgar's Steakhouse on 2/6. We have stayed here before years ago and when the husband asked where I wanted to go for the occasion I chose Belhurst without question because it is always good. This time was no exception, the staff was helpful and nice to deal with. Our room was awesome and dinner at Edgar's was excellent. The host at Edgar's was welcoming and our server Heather truly helped make the night a special one for us. My compliments to the chef because everything was delicious, best steak we have ever had. Ever. I am very grateful for this winter get away, it definitely helped recharge our batteries. Thanks Belhurst, we will definitely be back again.
