Ahh Super 8, this hotel has been here for years. Before the trailer park was demolished it was a bit nicer. But, with that change has came some change in attendants. They also have some very, very shady practices with how they employ their maintenance/cleaning staff, enough so that it probably warrants legal investigation..
Besides all the negatives, the rooms aren't the worlds worst, but I personally would prefer to sleep in my car..
Older but Clean, comfortable. This is one of those old style places that you just stop in for a nights rest and good shower then get back on the road to where you are going. It is close to Michigan State University It does not have a microwave, refrigerator or coffee maker in the room. Your door leads directly to the outside. The room was clean, neat, comfortable and had all the basic necessities. They offer free coffee in the lobby.
Easy on Wallet, Older but Clean
Close to MSU - but room was clean and quiet. Breakfast consisted of toast, bagels, cereal and juice or hot and one of the better tasting hotel coffees. easy on wallet. The staff was friendly and helpful.I Will back next game day.
Stayed here last Saturday (9/9/17) after a Spartan football game. We wouldn't have stayed had we been safe to drive. The hotel is just a dump. From the outside it looks like it's been closed a long time. The carpet is filthy with lots of holes. The shower surround and tub have black spots all over. The sheets were clean as far as I could tell. Staying was a last minute idea but wouldn't have used the shower even if I had brought stuff. The staff was pleasant. Wouldn't stay again though.
Spent 8 days at the Super 8 while on business and enjoyed a great stay. It was a short drive to the Lansing Center from the motel and there is a variety of restaurants near the motel for meals. One thing I really like about park next to the room entrance, when on the 1st floor for easy transport of luggage to and from the room. The room rate was also reasonable.
When I first pulled in, I thought it was closed or abandoned. There were no other vehicles that I could see anywhere. I drove around the building because I couldn't find the main office. I eventually figured out where it was. The woman working the desk was very nice and pleasant. My room however was not great. I got fresh towels every morning, but there were some weird insects in my room. I suspect being a college town, the place has just been thrashed over time.
I'm not sure what people are complaining about. My fiance and I stayed here in room 220. It was so comfortable. King sized bed. Clean. Did not smell bad. You get what you pay for which is a really great price. I highly recommend I only give 4 star because it did not come with a shampoo or conditioner but that's my only complaint. But the bed was so comfortable oh my gosh.
Is peace of garbage. I won't ever recommend to anyone to stay at that hotel. There's nothing that anyone want from that peace of garbage.
Old and very basic, but very clean. Best deal in the area. After reading previous comments, they must have really cleaned up recently, or I got really lucky.
Great experience, clean, upscale and very nice staff! I would stay here again for meetings. Nice restaurant attached and great conference center for large groups. Will definitely come back! Thank you!
This place does not even deserve 1 star. We had to sleep on top of the blankets because the sheets were so gross, could not take a shower because the paint was peeling off in the tub and there were paint chips all over in it not to mention it was filthy. And the heater did not work right so we had to mess with the heater all night.
Avoid unless you enjoy paying for exposure to bedbugs. I returned home from a nearby conference with some unexpected baggage. My arms and legs are itching and scarred from the feasting these little beasts enjoyed at my expense. I wish I HAD slept in my car!
The staff was friendly and nice, but.need I say more. Let the buyer beware! My only satisfaction is having report this to their Health Department, which only promised to send a letter. No citations. No mandatory correction. I do plan to request a refund, and we will see what comes of that!
