Very clean rooms Nurses were extremely helpful. Dr. Explains information very clearly and friendly.

Sunny view is an amazing rehab facility. Initially I was very apprehensive leaving my mom at a rehab alone but once I was able to meet all the staff and see how well they took care of her my mind was more at ease. I developed a great rapport with all the staff, especially nurses Deb, Tish and Kathy. I had the best social worker in the whole wide world..EVER, named Callie. She went above and beyond what's in her job description and continues to help us even after mommy has left the facility. Mommy is at a sub acute rehab facility now to complete her second step of rehab but boy do I wish she could of completed it at Sunny view. I had a lot of laughs and shed a lot of tears with the staff at Sunny view and I'm very appreciative for everything they did with my mom. Oh how could I forget Kim and Dylan in PT, absolutely amazing. I can't say enough positive things about Sunny view. I could keep going. Thank you all for what you do and helping to get my mom stronger.Hugs

Calling there was a complete disaster!! The people that answer the phone seem to hate their jobs! After the 3rd time I gave up because if it is that hard just to get a few simple questions answered, I was terrified at how hard it would be once my client is in there for therapy. Good customer service is a lost art!!!!

Haven't been here long. It's horrible horrible and horrible. They have done so much damage to my loved one. He has a spinal cord injury and is on a ventilator. They are not equipped to deal with both issues. Hell they aren't equipped to deal with just one issue. They are so short staffed that they almost never come in to check on him. I have to continuously get people to help with his basic needs. I am here 24/7 withhim and if I wasn't odds are he would be dead. I have had to come behind them and correct the damage done. They have left random objects under his body simply because they forgot them, leaving his paralyzed body to rest on them and create pain. They failed to do a proper check on him before they gave him his tube feed and pumped him so full that he started to vomit and it was back tracking into his already compromised lungs. His tube feed was left empty in another day and air was being pumped into his body creating nothing but pain. One horrible nurse who is completely disrespectful and unprofessional was Cierra, she works on the 3rd floor. She has no idea what she is doing and tends to disappear for extremely long periods of time leaving your disabled loved one alone with no way of help. She doesn't take family members concerns into consideration and ignores a patients wishes. She is not properly trained on how to handle someone with a spinal cord injury and really should lose her license to practice nursing for her actions. If I had not forceablly stopped her (after multiple attempts at telling her not to do something and her being rude, putting her hand in my face and telling me to let her do her job) she would have really hurt my loved one. She attempted to irrigate a catheter but had no idea what she was doing and was going to fill the balloon that hold it in place with the large amount of sterile water. This balloon only holds 5CC's of water and that would have burst the balloon if she was not stopped. She also left my loved one on a hard plastic bed pan for far too long what's was no where to be found when he needed to be cleaned. I could go on for a long time about the events that took place with her but I'm pretty sure the point is clear SHE IS HORRIBLE at her job and shouldn't be allowed to treat a headache let alone a spinal cord injury. I went to her supervisor as well as the nursing manager. She's no longer allowed near my loved one and if you are ever here it would probably be in your best interest to not let her near yours either. Today is his tenth day and all progress made before coming here has been destroyed and we are looking for a new rehabilitation center to go to. After speaking with 3 nursinf supervisors, a nurse manager and several Dr.'s nothing has been done and no help is given. I have been given answers such as "were short staffed" or "were not familiar with this" and those answers are not acceptable. This place has been a nightmare I have watched several other people wish they had chose another place for their loved one. My advise is STAY AWAY from this place.

First of all beware of "Doctor" Nicholson - she's a psychologist, not a medical doctor but no one will tell you that! She goes around giving orders that are followed because she is part owner!!!
My mom went there for rehab after surgery in Ellis. She developed 1) bronchitis, 2) UTI, and the surgical site became infected. She is an RN. The medical staff would not listen to her or me. She was discharged.
She was admitted back into Ellis acute care within 36 hours after discharge.response / report this review -

Awesome care and Therapy for my grandson who had his leg amputated below his knee. Excellent ,professional and personal care love them all. The doctors and therapist he had were awesome. Thanks is never enough !!

As an inpatient, the nursing staff was great, pt and speech therapists were very supportive. Occupational therapist was very condescending and unprofessional. Did not like the outpatient treatment at all pt and st where fine but the occupational therapy was horrible, did not benefit at all.I asked my doctor to write an order for another therapy location which was much more beneficial.For TBI survivors, I would NOT recommend this facility for therapy,I have recently found a place called Living Resources- these people will help with job assistance and training if needed. I have found Living Resources to be a place of hope and not despair which is how I felt at Sunnyview during my outpatient therapy as a TBI survivor. The fact that I was alone and without an advocate was taken advantage of by the Occupational therapist who was a verbal bully,. By the time I got home I was sickened by the treatment I received. My son was placed in this facility on September 2nd 2016 with a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. The place was highly recommended. We were told by a representative that they usually do 5-6 weeks and then get reevaluated for longer stay if needed. After 5 weeks we get told he can't stay there any longer and pretty much needs to go into nursing home care. He is progressing well with his therapy and is still in his coma. We were told this is just the beginning but they are a short term facility and can't stay any longer. Trying to find a facility to take him now is almost impossible. If we had went to some other facilities instead he could have stayed long term and gotten the therapy he needs. As far as there therapy goes it is wonderful. The therapists work well with my son and we see improvements everyday. As far as his medical and nursing care goes he is treated no different than an animal in a shelter. So beware. If you choose this place you may kick yourself later for it. You need to stay 24/7 to make sure they are getting cared for properly. Choose wisely. We wished we did now.

Not sure how I feel about the place yet. They treat my brother like he's retarded. Also they say children under the age of 12 aren't allowed in the building during flu season but every time I go there I see kids from ages 1,2,3,4 all obviously younger than 12 years old This place needs to be more professional.
