Came to the area to visit my father and his wife. Choose this restaurant because of the location, right on the river. Food was delicious but the water or ice had an odd flavor. Even the diet coke had an odd flavor. No reason to take away a star. It was wet and washed the food right down. Sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful meal with my wife, my two children, my father and his wife.

Excellent service, food was excellent, I had the catfish, I would eat there again, the wait time for food to arrive was great. You won't be disappointed!!!

I would have rated that I hated it; but that's not entirely accurate. We've been to this location many times in the past; but I always felt sick after eating there unless I get steamed veggies or soup. I completely forgot since it's been so many years. My father wanted to meet us there for his birthday; but he mostly drinks there and we won't make that mistake again. Both my husband and I had messed up stomachs and intestinal/digestive issues for at least 3 days after eating here!!! It was really rough and my husband never gets sick! I called my father to ask if he felt all right and he said to me, "Oh-Yeah, I forgot to mention that I don't think they change their oil when they make fried items, like the gator bites." We spoke to someone else and they said the same thing about this particular restaurant. I don't know how anyone would be able to stomach this food. I can't do it again and I won't ever be back. If you have to eat there, I recommend steering clear of anything fried like we've been told now.

My family and I just went to stumpknockers for lunch The husband and I ordered a pitcher of beer the last time we were there which was last Sunday a pitcher of Yuengling was $9 and today when we went it was $14. Talk about price gouging. We as customers need to speak up since this is not right. They need to be reported to the better business bureau. Our entire meal last week with 5 of us was $60 with tip and this week it was $88 with tip. And this week we ordered less so you tell me how the bill increased.

I love this place. I was here about 5 years ago with some car club members and once again this past weekend when I took my girlfriend there as we spent the night in Ocala.

The food is good. The staff was friendly. I would have given them five stars but I do not like instant tea. I realize that half of Florida doesn't have REAL SWEET TEA but that is their problem. It doesn't take a lot to brew up some real, fresh tea.

Outside of my tea complaint, the food is good. I had steak and my lady had crab legs. She said they were very good.

Overall this is a great little place. Get some sweet tea and we can add that fifth star.

Three of us had lunch at Stumpknockers after our great river cruise on The Withlacoochee with Captain Mike.
I asked for waterit tasted a wee bit 'funky' so I ordered a gin & tonic which was $8.50that seemed a bit high for that type of drink.
Our server Lauryn was pleasant and accommodating.
We all had burgers with grilled onions that were tasty and done 'just right'

Make sure u bring your own water! The food was good but service and water was seriously lacking. We waited over 1.5 hours to get our food. After one sip of water here we immediately realized something was wrong with it and looking around noticed other patrons with their own bottles of water brought from home. OK, we thot we will get tea: even worse as it's brewed with the water, soda: ice cubes were brown being made form the same water, wine and beer it is then! For my 4 year old, I had to go out to the car to grab a half empty bottle of water for her to drink with her meal once it finally came.
The waitress apologized and said they have well water in the restaurant. It was literally brown. Seriously? Get some filtered water please!
I am not a water snob by any stretch but it has been hours since eating there and I cannot get the metallic taste outta my mouth. Gross. Makes u wonder if they plugged right into the murky river it's situated on.

Absolutely the best bartender / server Miss Linda. I will say some of the servers aren't very friendly which is why we always go sit at the bar instead and the table closest to it for our kids. We take a very long drive to be able to see her as she is the reason for out happy visits every time we go and she takes wonderful care of our kids. Even though the one short hair blonde waitress was extremely rude because our kids were sitting at a table and we were waiting for Miss Linda due to the wait, the woman had no wait at all and 3 EMPTY tables but actually came up to us and complained that we were taking her table on Miss Linda's check and had the audacity to continue to complain about it the whole time we were sitting at the bar when she was complaining to other workers there and didn't realize we could hear her. She needs to go back to training because you do NOT talk bad about employees or customers in front of other customers. Since then we have taken note everytime we go there and she is always complaining about something else in front of customers.

I won't let that affect the score I am giving them but they definitely need to put her in her place as we don't come there to see her we come there to see Miss Linda as well as all the other regulars come there to see her. Other than that it is a really good affordable place to eat and some of the best catfish I have ever had.

Don't forget to try the gator nuggets they are my personal favorite. The recent improvements they have done make it much better for the experience.

Food is delicious. The fried vegetables and fried mushrooms were really good. Ribeye was cooked perfectly. Portion sizes are VERY large for the price. Great value. Lots of local sports, racing, and other memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Service was great. Fast and friendly.

We sat outside because they were just too busy inside to accommodate 6 persons. I had the stuffed flounder. Oh Em Gee!! Was that good! Brother had the Louisiana Gater Which was a huge portion and he said it was very good. Others had steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Plan to return in the in near future. Service was very good as well.

The food was very good and fresh. I loved the fact that although they had a lot of fried foods, they had a lot of healthier options as well. Prices were excellent for what you got. Service was also very good with friendly and attentive waiters. The only negative was the old hole in the wall environment. Small building with not much aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. But if you can get past that, everything else is great.
