  We took a tour there once. It was a little scary there. With multiple checkpoints inside the prison.

  If it wasn't for the low emotional intelligence being passed down from family to family and through the lawmakers places like this would not need to exist anymore. It's sad to see people who were brought up in the emotional Dark Age spend their last days and even any of their days in places like this but of course the corporations are buying them up and making a ton of money out of them which of course gives the state plenty of extra income. If they tried putting people through trauma therapy that didn't involve drugs like EMDR or tapping we wouldn't have to worry about people ending up back in places like this very sad

  I feel that Stateville, like assumingly, any maximum facility and all penal systems, doesn't rehabilitate any of the prisoners. It is a corporate model, systemic racially oppressive tool designed to: mentally anguish and spiritually kill the inmates, their family members and support system; financially rape tax payers; and fatten the pockets of the politically tied "investors." Unfortunately, many men of color live in these systems due to being wrongfully accused, prematurely convicted and egregiously sentenced to basically death. They are forced to be in the hole, which is a dark, damp, cold, hard cement miniature, individual cell for many, many months. They are forced to eat soy based, non to low nutritional foods, but cook unhealthy, yet hearty meals, like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables and cake for the prison staff!! We have so many systems that are broken due to a corrupt government driven by greed, racism, misogynism, cronyism, nepotism and too many other freaking -isms, and it's time that, We the People, take back our lives, by eradicating our current inept leaders in various branches of government! I have it 1 star because I feel that it's awesome that inmates have now decorated the visitation room with their own, beautifully designed art pieces. There are too many talented and innocent, as well as, over and ill-charged inmates.

  Comment about the "Ville being the hardest in the country. Nope. Parchman Mississippi and #2 Is Angola in Louisiana. Stateville USED to work the inmates on the farm and other areas around the prison. Due to inmate violence they are on 23/1 Lockdown.Stateville USED TO BE self sufficient. Dairy,Corn, Beef,Eggs Wheat,Soybean farmed by the inmates.But as is typical in Illinois,some corrupt politician got "food service" contracts for buddies and you have what you have now. Bear in mind Stateville ALSO used to be (before the now closed Tamms) the Execution place in Illinois. I believe they SHOULD return Stateville back to the farm it once was but if you go there down Division Street you can see that once was farms is now condo's. So for the most part Stateville is a dumping ground for criminals. But it is hardly the worst in the Nation. Until it closed in 2012 Missouri State Prison held that honor.

  My father has been locked up for 34 years straight, still going. He was transferred in and out penitentiary. This penitentiary as in most state pens are filled with complete idiots. They have been fooled into what make's you happy and think they can get it. This is where they end. I happy life is a simple life. This is 23/1 23 locked up 1 hour out. I can recall when I was a child wanting to beat up one of the grands for locking up my father. I was about 6. I told him You took my father I want your life. I had a lot of hate. I know longer have that hate. I feel bad and pray for these lost souls. This state does not treat Humans as humans and this Pirsion is a great example of what happens. They turn them into animals. There. Is no difference then taking a dog locking him up in a cage for 23 hours putting him in a caged yard outside for a hour and locking him back DOWN. That is what this is. This turns human minds back to there primal state. Who is the blame for this? Well the person that commented the violent act out of greed or power. Child rapist should be shot there is no needed from them to breed. Anyways there in teers. A one grad tower visits are behind glass so I don't know how this Bro slipped through there are no holes unless unlocked for letters. You talk on a phone to the person and look at them through thick crap glass. This is no Dixon Or The Farm. This is hard time one of the hardest in the country and it's no joke. I have a non for profit for children that have been in my sistucation. I just started it and I want to teach kids and adults all loved ones that everyone suffers. I also don't want kids to be branwashed that this cool or teach there kids to hate there mothers. Putting hate in a child needs to stop from inmates. I understand this state is BS. This rotation needs to stop and it's not only the person locked DOWN it's the child there brain washing. Talking like a idiot is not cool and get's you know where in life. The state is cutting funding on our schools and then they have some yuppie trying to relate to me. This type of "recorctional system as in SV, Marien, Pinkyville, Mandard, is not helping anyone or anything. It's making this country "land of the free worse. We all know your are not free is this country you can't even collect rain water.. Wake up Human race, orange black white green blue brown. You have a brain use it. Stand up for what is right and let's call it as it is. Please realize our children our the next generation that will deal with these rick currupot Emmanuel's.
