We went to one of the Eagle Trolley tour. It was $25 and included lunch. The lunch was from their restaurant and included at least 6 very good options. The tour was informative. We would definitely do another Trolley tour.

Two friends and I rented a cabin at starved rock for two nights. The area around the lodge is amazing, and the hikes are beautiful. The cabins don't have a TV, but if you're looking to spend quality time with others then it's a great option

My parents took me there for brunch for my birthday, and while the lodge itself is beautiful the food on the buffet was just average. Tables were too closely clustered to allow for free movement to the buffet. It's an ok place but not somewhere I would go out of my way to eat unless I was attending a special occasion, such as a wedding.

Awesome venue for wedding, and very nice laid back lounge. The whole lodge is gorgeous, very rustic like a giant log cabin. Nice bar in the back. Attended a family wedding there and everyone had a great time, no complaints about the rooms. Would definitely recommend. Also serve some the better weddiing food I've had.

We met up with family at the restaurant. One of our family members uses a wheel chair and found the restaurant to be accessible --a big plus for us. The restaurant was clean; the service was good. It took little time between us sitting down and our orders taken. The waitress was kind and good at her job. Our food came quickly. The waitress kept our coffee and water filled. The food was good and reasonably priced . The restaurant has a pleasant, rustic feel. We liked it there and plan to return.

The location was perfect for a conference. It has a beautiful view and atmosphere, which is a nice change from the typical stuffy hotel/conference center. The food was amazing..breakfast, lunch, snacks. Restrooms were located conveniently nearby.

Really beautiful anytime of year. Another wonderful trip, all staff were amazing. Food, drinks, and set up were exceptional and kept in tidy condition. Only complaint is wishing there was a sound reduction/ proof barrier instead of the cloth to deter the noise from other guests during function.

Nice getaway that's not too far from Chicago suburbs. Hiking trails are right next to the lodge for easy access into the park. The rooms inside the lodge are nice and have that woodsy/ cabin feel to them. Actual cabins are also available. Overall had a nice experience!

Took an easy 1.5 hour drive to visit the park for the first time. Hiking was great and paths lead right from the lodge. Veranda cafe food choice is small but the pizza was delicious and we got to sit out and watch the sunset. Breakfast in the lodge dining room was lovely and relaxed. You have to try the fudge and ice cream from the gift shop. It is locally made and very delicious. The lodge and rooms were all clean. I will certainly come back.

Wow this place is the real deal, a traditional log lodge rustic and cozy. Staff was very friendly, so much to do and see just at the lodge. Free DVD in rooms, great food, views that are jaw dropping just to name a few of the things that made this stay a great time. Nice to have a place to rest and shower after or between hikes in the park.

I went here for the trolley and boat tour. Lunch was included in the price of the tour. I enjoyed hearing about the history of the area and seeing the sights. This was especially important as I was with people who have limited mobility. Younger and older people were on the tour. I highly recommend the whole experience. Book early!

We enjoyed the "Golden Years" night at the lodge. Clean, comfy and a good night's rest. We had a problems with one of the beds. Maintenance was there immediately to remedy the problem. We ate twice at the Main Dining Room and the food was fantastic! We also took part in the Land & Water Cruise. Keith our shuttle driver was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Starved Rock history. There is a lot more to do since we did not take the canyon tour or hike. It was a wonderful get a way!

Starved Rock lodge is the perfect location for any type of school, business, or organization retreat. It's the perfect place to get out outside and enjoy nature and not be tempted to stay in your room. The rooms are spacious and quiant with only a small TV which once again, doesn't tempt you to stay in your room all day. I also really appreciate the lighting in the rooms at night. Most hotels has the worst lighting but I loved the set up in the lodge. If you are lucky to stay when the weather is nice then you'll probably find yourself sitting on the rocking chairs, enjoying their outside patio/restaurant, or hiking to the water fall. This was my third time going for a retreat and the service, as always, was kind, quick to respond, and very helpful. Definitely would stay again and I am looking forward to my organizations annual retreat next year!
