I have been a patient for about 3 years. Sonoran Spine is primarily a surgical practice. PA Mara Immediato has been great, and at no time was there a push for surgery as an answer to my pain. She prescribed physical therapy with Bert Bednar at Total Body Physical Therapy, and he was great. Yet my pain persisted. I had three nerve block injections by a pain management practice closer to where I live, and he was very good. Yet, when my pain persisted well past the nerve blocks, I decided to look up the resumes and reviews for all of the pain-management doctors in the valley and, based on Dr. Mosallaie's excellent credentials, decided to visit Sonoran Spine once again. I scheduled an eval appointment with him, but he was "out of the office" when I showed up. I saw a younger, less experienced but still very good "fellow" (Dr. Rojas) in his place. He suggested a different kind of block, which was performed at a nearby surgical center. Dr. Mosallaie was in the O.R., but I think Dr. Rojas performed the procedure. I went for my follow-up appointment with Dr. Mosallaie. Again, Dr. Mosallaie was out of the office, and I saw Dr. Rojas. I requested to see my MRI on the screen. Reluctantly, he showed it to me on a computer outside the patient room. He ordered a block of my sacroiliac joint (had to wait two weeks for that), which was to have been performed yesterday; however, the battery back on this flimsy device (compared to the sophisticated procedure suite where I had my other blocks done) would not charge. I'm sitting in this procedure room, and Dr. Mosallaie is going in and out of the room, not even acknowledging that I am sitting there. After he and his assistants could not get the machine to turn on, he finally looked at me and said, "I'm sorry. We'll have to re-schedule" at which point I stood up and introduced myself. Thus, in the span of 4 scheduled appointments, he said all of six words to me -- nothing about my condition and treatment path. I wrote to a Customer Service representative at Sonoran Spine, and in response for Mr. Mosallaie substituting Dr. Rojas without letting me know, she replied "Most often this can occur when he is tied up with another patient/procedure." OK, fair enough, but that was not communicated to me when I showed up for my appointments. In fact, the staff said "He's out of the office." Meanwhile, my rheumatologist recommended a different pain-management practice, so I'm seeking a second opinion. Bottom line: The reviews for Dr. Crandall and for Dr Chang, who would be my surgeon if I needed one, are great. And I'm sure Dr. Mosallaie is good, too. But I wouldn't know because he hasn't given me a chance. My main complaint with this practice and others is that they don't take a holistic, forensic approach to pain. That's what is missing.
The Doctors, font desk and Xray tech were geat. The MA(Pierre) for Doctor Chang was the most unprofessional person I have dealt with in a long time. I was told by their office and my general Doctors office that they would have the CT scans sent to them. I get there and they do not have them. I am frustrated and in Pain and try to explain to the MA and he tells me I should have called to make surepractically blaming me because they did not do their job. On top of that I heard him in the hall talking to the Doctors I was giving him attitude. I told him he was unprofessional and he said I was unprofessional. Aren't I the patientaren't I the one helping pay his pay check. Worst customer service EVER! The doctor apologize for his behavoirI was in tears after this experience.
Dr Crandall and his entire staff have provided the most excellent care for me. From prompt appointments, questions, and correct information from physical therapy to fast on time refills. He did a major back surgery on me and I would not let any other surgeon touch me. Also, when I was sent out for a second opinion from another surgeon he agreed 100% with the treatment plan. You have to remember every persons body reacts differently than others. BUT, if you do exactly what he asks of you, the best achievable results will be the reward. Lastly, surgeons are extremely busy and are not there to provide your pain management for long periods. That is why there is a separate Dr to handle that portion.
Every single person I have dealt with at Sonoran has been wonderful. I am sorry I can't name them all. As a workers comp patient, I am NOT used to being treated with dignity, care and respect. Dr Crandall And company gave me something I honestly was running short on, HOPE. Thanks to the entire staff!
Very rude staff and they no nothing about what the insurance the coordinate with, never back there
Very bad service
Office is not helpful at all and the Dr and PA's are not hands on. Visits are extremely short. I have been in pain since November and they only provided me with pain medications for 2 weeks. Refused to continue pain management unless I have surgery. I got an epidural injection that did nothing. My experience with this office has been a huge waste of money and time.
