The castle is really cool. There is so much wonderful art in a variety of mediums and a ton of puns! It's definitely worth the trip. We did both tours, and the workshop was kinda interesting, but if you're on a budget and don't care about cool old cars (1935 and older), save your money. Also, the restaurant is really neat, but we thought it was too expensive and went to Giovanni's instead (delicious).

This was truly a unique place to visit and very interesting artwork/museum. Mr. Solomon was a true genius! Do yourself a favor and take a drive to Ona, Florida to visit Solomon's Castle.

We love this artist Howard Solomon because of his humorous puns. He also had a seriousness in his recyclable art and love his leo the lion art piece! We bring friends and family here who appreciate corkiness!

This was a really unique place. My husband watched a documentary on it. So while we were in the area we decided to visit. It was awesome.
But be sure you bring cash or check. They do not accept credit or debit. They have an atm but it is down alot due to the weather and them being out in the middle of NO Where.
But the staff is really awesome. Friendly and knowledgeable.
And they have a gift shop and restaurant. Unfortunately we did not get to eat with them but it smelled really good.

    So thumbs up.

Quirky art by an interesting and talented man. The tour is entertaining and essential to the experince -- the script was written by the artist!
Its location is remote, but a relaxing drive in the countryside.
There's a restaurant named The Boat in the Moat that serves hot and cold dishes.
Worth the trip, but more enjoyable on a cooler day.

It's a great place to inspire kids to be more creative. And to learn to be more resourceful. The food is great as well.

An absolutely fantastic place to visit. We have been going there for years. The owner (who just passed recently) was an artist and built the entire place. It's a "got to see" kind of place. Family owned and operated.

Solomon's Castle is a rare treasure in a place you wouldn't expect. Like the winding drive leading to a grand country estate, such is the reveal of the late Howard Solomon's majestic castle home. As you enter the gates and turn the corner, you'll swear you've entered a fairy-tale as the trees give way to a grassy clearing adorned by a glistening (literally) castle. Situated next to the castle in the moat is a life-size wooden ship complete with cannons and a helm atop.

Aesthetics aside, Solomon's castle offers a full day experience complete with guided tours of Howard Solomon's artwork and sculptures (housed in the castle), a beautiful scenic trail by the river, a guided tour of Howard Solomon's private antique car collection, an eclectic gift shop, and last but far from least, a full restaurant housed in the boat! Additional outdoor seating is available which boasts live music in the busy season!
As if all of that isn't enough to lure you to check out this unique experience, if you're looking for something a little extra special, you can actually stay the night in the castle! The Blue Moon room is available to book (B&B style) by visiting the website.

Solomon's Castle gets 5-Stars for Uniqueness, Delicious Food, Friendly Staff, and Length of Stay Options. It's also definitely a repeatable experience. The food & atmosphere alone are worth the trip, but if you're an art lover, there is so much here, you're going to notice new things or hear new facts (different tour guides) each time you come. Me, I like bringing family and friends to my favorite spots to enjoy them through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the first time. This is definitely one of those places!

We took two grandchildren the the castle. We all found it fascinating. The tour guide regaled us with the "puns" associated with each individual piece of art. Solomon's wit and originality are evident everywhere. This is a delightful tourist site. We ate in the attached restaurant and enjoyed that too.

Absolutely worth the drive. The castle itself is gorgeous, the tour is worth it even if the art weren't good. However, it is! Beautiful pieces with lovely grounds dotted with surprise whimsy. The antique car collection is just as much fun. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for strolling the outdoor trails. The restaurant is rather good as well. Bring cash, they do not accept checks or credit cards, though there is an ATM in the gift shop.
