This is the place to be for certain futbol (soccer) ambiance! They have the most screens Ive seen in a sports bar in Manhattan. People usually come in groups to watch their teams play. They play all mayor Leagues (Germany, England, Italy, Spain) and maybe others, if they have the channel available.
Food is as expected, Bar Food; however, the chicken burger/sandwich is very tasty, good sauce!
Great small venue to see up and coming stars. If you get a chance to see someone here, and then the next time you have to to to MSG - You feel like part of the family. LOL
Great bar to watch football (the one you play with your feet). This seems to be the go to place for the FCB supporters, both of them, FC Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. Was glad to find the home of the FC Bayern München Fan Club New York to watch Bundesliga football.
The place serves a good selection of beers including German Bitburger (in a can) and more importantly Paulaner Hefeweizen among a couple of local beers.
The food is pretty decent ~ but we just popped in for a quick visit to watch a ball game and grab some beer and munchies. The beer selection was decent, but predictable. Being from Florida, I wanted to try some local brews on draught, and while they have a good top selection (quantity-wise), they only had two local beers. The staff here was top-notch. Very friendly!
This isn’t our first time coming here. The first time we went to the bar and the bartender was really nice. Second time we came in we sat at the table. No waitress came to us until we said something to the bartender. So when the waitress finally came in. The tune of her voice was really rude and she doesn’t give no eye contact. She seem like she was in the hunger even thought it was fairly dead. (She is short long hair and somewhat chubby, big eyes) we went there yesterday 7/19 at 5:30pm. I feel like customer service is very important specially if you work as a waitress. The food was good, we got fries and pizza but less ketchup.
This is where I come to watch the soccer games. It gets super crowded and the bartenders are a bit rude. They are pretty much the only bar playing the games from my country so I still come here.
Came here to catch a Barcelona game and I'm definitely coming back. The environment was lively and energetic. Plenty of TVs and space to move around. Great atmosphere overall and good selection of beers.
Great sports bar in Chelsea. Lots of TVs and cool atmosphere. Best place to catch a soccer match.
I eat here at least two or three times a month. Great drinks, happy hour, bratwurst is my favorite. Lots of tvs and great for watching all sports.
A great sports bar and the "go to" for soccer. Great drinks. Great people. I am here at least a few times a month. Prices are okay for what you get. Good lunch time vibe.
Great place to watch a european soccer game! Watched Olympic Lyon vs Ajax last May 2017. Enought space, a lot of televisions, great vibe.
The soccer Mecca in NYC, can feel overwhelming when a big game occurs. Come early to get a good spot
Perfect for watching sports. The happy hours are great and drinks are fairly priced. The bartenders are old school and awesome.
Though it's fashioned as a sports bar, Smithfield accommodates many different types of situations. In addition to sports, I've gone for birthdays, parties, dates, dinner, and sometimes just a drink.
They serve more than just bar food. My personal favorite is the bao bun appetizer. I'm yet to have a bad meal there.
What a Great Sports Bar!
Electric atmosphere when the games are on. We watched the MU vs Everton game. It was a fantastic experience doing so at Smithfield Hall! Fans egging both sides on amid happy hour beers and wines, as well as $10 lunch specials was excellent!
If you're looking for good food / drinks only, this might not be it. But if you're looking for a sports bar to watch a game, this is it. There are so many screens! Wherever you're sitting, you'll probably get a good view of the game.
Food was good; 4-star. Calamari was crispy and light, tofu stir-fry was yummy albeit a little on the sweet side.
Overall - a great experience.
One of the best places to catch soccer games in NYC. They have friendly bartenders and good service. Try catching a Barcelona v/s Real Madrid game (El Clasico) here if you are a Barcelona fan, but come early for the game if you want to get in as it fills up atleast 20mins before the game. The crowd makes you feel at Camp Nou.
This is the go to happy hour bar for my friends and I. Staff is always attentive and the happy hour prices are great for NYC. They also have their own Smithfield Hall beers which I have very much enjoyed. It's a great place to watch soccer no matter what league you follow.
Love watching sports here. Big open room in the back along a long bar. Good food too.
The small plates were great! We had a group of 7 and ordered a couple at a time, and they came out quickly. Even on a Saturday night they had all night happy hour with $5 well drinks and $4 select beers. Waitress was very nice.
I love coming here all the time! The food is amazing and the crew is great! Lunch or dinner or just meeting up for a few drinks and to watch some soccer, this place rocks
