We were very happy about how neat, clean and professional this company was. We shipped 8 large items of furniture to a family member several states away. NY to KY. Everything was done quickly and professionally. We did encounter a small glitch when trying to make payment and had to make a bunch of phone calls and texts. Hopefully when our credit statement comes in there will be no problem.
The office was quick to answer questions. Emails seemed to be best form of communication . Very pleasant and curious. Highly recommend.response / report this review -

I have been very pleased with our experience. Each Customer Service person was very helpful. We knew where we were moving to and included that info in our initial but had to store our things for over a year. The Service rep worked hard to get approval for delivery. It all went smoothly. The drivers called with delivery arrival times. No problems. The move couldn’t go any better. I will love to recommend them!

It is a great relocation company with unique relocation capabilities. Their jobs are awesome. They know how to take care of customers. This relocation team treated my goods and me in such a good way. Unlike the previous relocation encounters, these were more courteous and preferable. Thank you! Couldn’t be more pleased with the entire moving experience! Will use them again anytime soon!

The Dumbo Moving and Storage has some great guys. They are very quick and patient simultaneously. Especially Mason and David were excellent. They came and got ready to work on time with supporting tools. It seemed they were more than happy to help us. It’s not like that they were only happy to work rather they did the move without any incident. I am very eager to hire them for any further move. Recommended!

Service was absolutely great! Movers arrived on time, did a quick walk through of the apartment to check all that had to be moved and then started the moving process promptly. There were no issues during the move and we were done within 3.5 hours which is outstanding given the amount of stuff we had! We have used Dumbo Moving a few times now. The reservation process is simple and quick, always love a flat rate, sales rep's are polite and very helpful. Highly recommended!

Used dumbo three times. The first two were great experiences. The third was HORRIBLE. They overcharged us by $700. Kept our belongings hostage in the truck until we gave them $700. Both prior moves cost $800 this one cost $1400 and we were moving to a smaller apt and had given away 1/2 of the furniture (no couch, chairs, china cabinet or dresser). We tried to call and ask the reasoning and the office was extremely rude. DO NOT USE.

I had a great experience with dumbo. I had a move from New York to South Carolina. They made my move in less than 3 days and handled my items with care. I was not their to receive all my things so my family whom received my shipment did not account for all my boxes leaving one missing. I informed the company and with in less than a day my box was located and on it's way to my location.

Do not use Dumbo moving!! One of their workers, Salvo, dropped my couch on my brand new hardwood floor severely damaging it. It happen right in front of me plus 3 other people and the guy even admitted to it. I immediately took pictures, called Dumbo and followed their drawn out protocol and they refuse to pay me. Now i am out all the repair money. So unprofessional!!! Don’t use them!!!! So many better options out there!

They were quick, worked fine, but weren't careful enough, as they broke some of our valuable items and still expected a tip, even though the damage exceeded the 20% tip. One of them tried to get the tip by showing some sentence in the paperwork mentioning 20% tip. Not obligatory.. Sales rep. didn't inform about insurance options, instead included the one that you only get 60 cents per lb. Also I was asked to sign a contract - after the job was finished.. One mover was great at communications and overall customer service, great impression. The damage was too big though. Movers, be more careful, remember about blankets. If you employ Dumbo, it's fine, just move your valuables yourself and leave the Dumbo less valuable stuff to move. Also supervise them and suggest wrapping your furniture with blankets.

The worst service arrived one hour late the mover insisted I pay a 20% tip before he started moving. After the move I was basically shaken down for the money. I would not recommend this company.

This is really a 4.5 star review, but I am rounding up. The movers were great: they arrived on time, were careful in their handling and moved quickly. The only downside was that there was a mix up with management who told us that they had another job in between picking up and dropping off our stuff. We got an unexpected call from the movers saying that they were already at our new apartment an hour after they left our place. It was quickly resolved however and it worked out better for us timing wise. The company was priced very fairly and they had excellent availability.

We had an excellent experience with Dumbo last week and would highly, highly recommend them. It was a difficult decision to select a moving company but we are happy that we went with them, even though their costs were a little higher than other quotes we received. Alan and his team were FANTASTIC. We loved them from the moment we met them. Very efficient, friendly, and trustworthy. I highly recommend their team of guys if you're able to choose specific movers.

I couldn't be happier with my move this past week from a Cobble Hill brownstone to a Brooklyn Heights elevator building.
I was quoted a price of $785 to move my one bedroom after I filled out the request form online and talked to Alex. And that's what I was charged at the end--$785. There were no extra fees or up-charges. This included all the wrapping, taking apart the bed, packaging the paintings and mirrors, etc. Plus delivery and removal of 20 plastic bins which was so much better than messing with cardboard boxes.
It was tough move the day after the blizzard, and it was super cold and snowy, but the crew was friendly, patient and courteous the entire time. The truck showed up right at the start of my 9 am to 11 am window.
Some of my furniture, including the big piano, was hard to get out of the brownstone, but no one on the crew seemed frustrated.
They worked fast and I was all moved into my new place by 2 pm. They put everything exactly where I wanted it. And they did such a good job wrapping and transporting everything, nothing got broken or even had a scratch on it.
Moving is stressful, but these guys made it a lot easier than I was expecting!response / report this review -

I hired Dumbo to move from NYC to NYC with last minute notice and they did a terrific job. Well organized, very professional, text, emails, answers quickly and they speak english. I worked with Brad who was outstanding and honest. I overpaid and they informed me that I paid twice and refunded me asap. This is extremely honest and impressive. I most definitely will use them next move. I see their trucks all around the city. . They are well insured and very professional. Thank you Brad. .

I highly recommend against anyone using Dumbo. While their staff seemed nice and the process was fine to get the move arranged - as soon as there is any problem they will screw you over. In the process of my move the movers disassembled a number of my items of furniture because they were going into storage for a short time,. But when they completed the move, they had managed to lose the pieces for reassembling my bed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, mistakes happen, and asked them to simply get replacement pieces and finish the job later in the week. Despite several promises to turn up, the staff never showed, and then stopped responding to. The headquarters staff didn't care about the problem and offered me a meager $50 for my bed which is still in pieces in my bedroom and cannot be reassembled. They failed to communicate or respond to my emails and return phone calls, and all in all I can say it was not worth the risk to give these cowboy movers any money or trust them with your moving job.

We had a very good experience with our crew and the move. They moved us from
Brooklyn to a 4th floor walk up across the river in NJ during a very hot weekend.
They packed everything perfectly. Not a wine glass or wine bottle was broken. They even got a solid wood dresser into a loft area. The guys were jovial and polite throughout the day.response / report this review -

This is my second time using Dumbo and they were just as great this time as they were the first - they were reasonably priced, communicative, punctual, professional, and efficient. I got a text the day before confirming time of arrival, and they did in fact arrive on time. They were careful with the items they moved, and with the apartment. They were professional and expertly handled my sometimes fussy father. All in all, a great experience again. William Lindsey was the head of the crew and was awesome!
