The hotel ambience was sleek and stylish. Staff was very professional and treated us as if we were royalty. The room was really spacious with high ceilings. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was fully renovated and the room was very comfortable. For the price, you can't beat this place. Centrally located near everything. A block from Macy's. Amazing hotel and location. Highly recommend.
Mr. Kelly and his team are some the most welcoming staff I've had the pleasure to work with in the hotel industry. Sharp, generous, always smiling, always asking what they can do to enhance my stay. Silversmith Chicago, two thumbs up and I give it 5 stars!
Wonderful experience! Top notch - easy walk to ever there we wanted to go! Expensive car babysitting, but seems similar to all the others! Employees were amazing!
We travel to Chicago regularly and like to try different hotels. This year we chose the Silversmith. What a good choice it was the staff are lovely and eager to please the room was spotless, the bed was really big and comfortable. The addition of a coffee machine was a dream. It is in a ideal position for the shops, park, lake and museums. We will not bother to look any further it will be the Silversmith every trip for us now.
The rooms are nice and full of accommodations. We're talking a fridge, a safe, the simplest a/c. Things have been real quiet especially considering that it's so close to the El railway. People are cool behind the desk. I saw someone withhold a star because the people at the check in desk didn't wave to them everytime they came and went. I get it, but the desk isn't that close to the elevator that it required that level of acknowledgement so frequently. The location is good. Its safe and has so many places to eat. It's also a small block or two away from the best and cheapest parking in the area. It's also close to many hotels like the wit, and some other places.
My review is for the bar/lounge on the ground floor; I was not a guest of the hotel. The ground floor is nice. The bar sits in the middle with the lounge surrounding it. There are TVs on the walls and the ambiance is very relaxing. The hotel sits right at the new Washington/Wabash station which is a good complement.
Spent five nights here while attending a conference. The property was very nice, with a modern, but slightly art deco vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful. AC and plumbing were new and worked great. There are no views from room windows. EL train runs above Wabash Street in front of the hotel, but once inside the hotel you would not know it. This is Chicago.!! Good food just down the street in either direction.
This hotel is quite nice with a lot of space and two televisions. Great service at the front desk. I stayed here with my wife who had it for work. I think they cater to corporate clients and search. Very nice bar but nobody there usually.
Had a very nice stay this week. Big comfortable.room. Great location. Upscale without being too pretentious.
Would give it 5 stars but one of the front desk women we had to deal with a couple of times was unneceasaruly short when we checked in and seemed unhappy every time we walked by her and said hello. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive.
Loved my stay here. I've been away from home on business for weeks and this was my last stop before finally going home. Everything in this place is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is exquisite and beyond accommodating. I travel all the time and I cannot recall the last time I was so impressed with a hotel. Would recommend this place to anyone willing to listen! Thank you for an incredible stay!
I went to the Silversmith Hotel for a few days on vacation to see Hamilton. The location and building itself was perfect for that, within walking distance of most things I wanted to see. The lobby was beautiful, and the staff helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Keycards are required not only for your room but the elevators as well, so security is good. The room we stayed in was clean and beautiful, with high ceilings, plenty of space, and comfortable beds. My only complaint is that the included parking was a bit expensive, and it was impossible to access my car without having to send someone to go get it for me. All in all, a fantastic hotel and area. I'd definitely recommend it.
Great location right downtown. Valet parking was efficient and helpful. Room is nice and pretty big. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom
OUTSTANDING service and experience from 3-19 through 3-22, 2017.
I was in Chicago on business, and it was my first time visiting. Great corner room, clean, and spacious enough for one traveler. The wifi was reliable and easy to access– a big plus that I really appreciated. The front desk and guest services staff were consistently attentive, helpful, and professional, despite the fact that I was a bit frazzled from other stressful travel issues. I will stay at this hotel again, and would recommend it to others in a heartbeat. The cleaning staff did an impeccable job each day, and everyone was courteous and warm. They seemed genuinely concerned not only with doing their job, but with doing it flawlessly.
Seriously: All hotels hoping to compete with a establishment like The Silversmith need to understand that a professional, competent staff is what will set your business apart every time. And no, no one asked me to write this. I'm not really a review-writing person in general. But when a business is truly one of a kind, a little public praise is the least I can do.
Enjoyed our stay here a lot. The hotel is updated and very nice. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. Great location close to the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park and the bean, within walking distance and also close to the train. The staff here was great. Very attentive and helpful. The restaurant and the bar area looked nice but we didn't have the opportunity to visit either one.
Service service and more excellent service. The food is good Josie does an absolutely Splendid job behind the bar. The front desk staff and the door staff are also excellent basically customer service at this hotel is just plain awesome. I will most definitely stay there again. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the construction in front and the lack of any really Stellar Chicago scenery from your room. The food is also pretty good I definitely recommend the sliders
