The condos at Long Beach are individually owned. They are rented through a management company. The unit we stayed in was in Tower 1, Unit 1203.
You can tell the owners love their property. They've added little extras that make unit 1203 feel a little bit like home. Simple things such as an area rug under the dining room table and a crock pot.
The bedspreads & pillow shams in the guest room (where I stayed) were so soft & comfortable (ladies, it's that yummy material we all enjoy), even reversible if you want to change designs during your stay.
I would definitely stay in this unit if it's available the next time I'm over this way.
All in all it wasn't a bad stay. Pool bar was really fun, great staff there. However during our stay, the fire alarm went off about 6 times at around 2-3am. No one from the hotel offered any form of reimbursement for the inconvenience.
Awesome pool. Everything maintained well around the complex. Beach is really nice. PCB is is crowded, but not overcrowded in October. Really nice the have food and drink at the pool area. A bit of a walk to and from the parking garage, but this is a big complex. Good that there is reserved parking on the same floor you stay on. I would for sure stay here again.
We were looking to book a place to stay for our anniversary, and once i showed pictures to my wife she LOVED the condo. From the first contact made with Drew, he went above and beyond to work with us to make the trip perfect. He was very thorough, and he was very professional. He was always available to answer any questions at all, and was very speedy in his response time. That alone is excellent in itself, but when we got there we were completely amazed with how incredible the condo actually was clean, spacious, great decor, and the view was WONDERFUL! The condo is situated in the best part of town as well, right in the middle of restaurants and shopping. We had a very memorable anniversary trip, and look forward to going back the same time next year! Thank you again, Drew, for being such a great host! #1008
The parking and elevators are terrible. One if not two elevators are down at a time! No matter what you will wait 10-15 to get on. Parking is always a mess. Your spots are always taken and only 5 parking spots of over sized trucks. Well usually family's take a bigger vehicle on vacation. Needless to say we didn't fit in the parking deck and were told we would have to park down the road. Other than those to things, it's a beautiful spot on the beach with a huge pool, great bar, and lunch spot. Although we will not be staying again due to the elevator and parking issues.
Since last year they have improved, staff is friendlier, it's overall a bit cleaner. The location is great it's close to most thing and not at all far away. The pool is lovely. I'd give it a 4.5 but I can't so a 5 it is.
But I must add I stayed during late August, therefore that might be why I didn't experience all the elevator problems and such.
Beautiful suites, lovely pool. The view from our balcony was awesome. I would recommend that you leave an extra roll of bathroom tissue in all bathrooms.
We enjoyed our short thank.
Front desk clerk was very kind.
I'm not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Just got back from a 4-day vacation there and we loved it! Everything was perfect. No summer crowds or long elevator wait times. I will be back!
The condo we stayed in and the owner of the condo was very nice and helpful. No complaints on the condo. BUT we pay money to stay here and the pool closes at 10PM. We wanna swim! Keep the pool open later. Families were getting kicked out and we got kicked out. Let them swim. Cmon. As long as people are being quiet it should be allowed. Most places let you stay out and swim.
Stayed at Shores of Panama Resort from Friday until Sunday this past week. Overall, the hotel was clean and nice and our condo was clean. Besides the dishes were a little dirty but that wasn't a problem. But the parking was literally the worst part. We had no idea where the main entrance was, there were two entrances side by side and there was no sign or anything telling us which way to enter. Tried calling them to ask, was on hold for ten minutes, and when the lady answered she gave a quick response and hung up on me. The parking garage overall was a mess, very small and cramped and barely any parking available that wasn't reserved. I understand they have a lot of rules because of spring break, but this was not during spring break and just a weekend trip. Some of staff were really nice but some were totally rude. Maybe new management would work? And also we were promised a king, a queen and pull out sofa bed but instead got a queen bed and two bunk beds and a couch, with 7 of us. 3 guys had to sleep on the floor, which was totally ridiculous.
The advertised "Free Wifi" is a straight joke!!!! We could not even work on our computers the entire time of our stay. Once we arrived, we were told that our $250 deposit would be mailed instead of credited back to our card. The elevator service is the worst I have seen in my entire life. Be prepared to wait at least 5-8 minutes for one; that's at any of them!!! The security guards are more concern about who is trying to enter the facility, instead of the loud parties these highschooler were throwing. Our 2 bedroom condo had no head board and needs a major renovation. Now, let get to the parking/garage. If you drive anything bigger than a compact car, you are screwed. Your vehicle might leave with a few scratches. I understand they are under "New Management", but to pay $245 a night and deal with these issues, WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!!
Pros - It's cheap. Easy access to the beach. When the patio door is closed you can't hear everyone yelling back and forth to each other from patio to patio.
Cons - Dated. Elevator situation is horrible. There can be long wait times to get up and down. Wifi and cell service is slow and spotty. Hot tub is disgusting.
If you need cell phone service or internet this is not the place for you. Or if you're driving anything bigger than a compact car, then this is definitely not wear you want to go because it's underground parking, and all the parking spots are barely big enough to fit a car. Other then that it's alright, if you plan on walking everywhere and going to the beach it's not bad.
Our specific unit was beauitful, clean, and spacious. No complaints there.
Our biggest disappointment was that this resort was overcrowded and not family friendly. Lots of waiting everywhere. The parking garage, the elevators, the WiFi, the beach were always crowded, slow, and loud. Lots of young Spring Breakers who were not supervised, which was fun for them I'm sure, but just not the atmosphere we were looking for for our family with 3 young children.
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing place for you and your young family, Shores of Panama is probably not the place for you.
Overall, we had a great week, but will look for something more family friendly next year.
