We stayed here for a week and it was wonderful. Definitely a good way to go if you are on a small budget as far as lodging goes. The beach is directly across the street so you can wake up and walk right to the beach! There are multiple bathrooms and pools and a place to do laundry if you need to. The staff is also friendly and willing to help you find places to eat, things to do, etc.

Great place for the family! Easy walk to the beach, clean bath houses, nice pools, level camping areas, great community feel. Employees are helpful and polite! Highly affordable! We have had our annual Scout family weekend here for 9 years and counting!

We just spent a week there and everyone loved it! Convenient location to most things people go to the beach for! It was always kept clean and maintained well. All of the facilities looked great and actually had hot water for showers (a lot of places are a little slack in that department)!!!!! The office staff are so kind and friendly and willing to help if you need it! Had a flat on my tow vehicle and was a little shaken up about it, it was the day before I was to leave. Steer tire on a dually, not a regular tire. They fixed me up with connections to get it fixed rather fast and convenient! Just a great place to spend a week with the granddaughters! Thank you, Raccoon River Campground hosts, great job!!!!! Will tell everyone that camps, this is the place to go!!!

We have camped every year at Raccoon River for probably 20 years. We consider it our home away from home. We love the quite family atmosphere. We feel safe here . The steps for the most part are big enough so that your owning can be opened over your patio. You have to go across the road to the beach but for the money we do not mind this. We love it here and hope to spend many more years camping here.

I love this campground. The spaces are a tad too small for my liking (especially since the group next to us set up a canopy in our area) and they have a minimum charge for using your card at the convenience store. Other than that, they have a nice pool with a smaller pool on the other side of the campground. The bathrooms were unexpectedly nice; reclaimed wood used throughout, but very clean and nice looking. This campground is about a nice 10 minute walk through a mostly shaded path to the beach, which was absolutely amazing! They let us use an adapter for our camper and even let us borrow some cards from their game stash so we could use it in our camper. All-in-all, very pleased with this campground. Definitely plan on coming back here soon!

The people are rude and when we left and came back they said we couldnt rent there we stayed to our selfs did nothing wrong the bathrooms where nasty the pools where gross and the owner is a stuck up jerk never agian my family is most of bay county so I will let peaple know

Worse camping experience ever. Grass cutters decided to cut the dirt while we were there. Look like a dust storm from zero turn mower.I had to wash both truck and camper after the dirt cutter finished. Wife and I went to beach and returned and the weed eater operator had everything covered with dirt again. Went to office and complained with no remedy. Had to clean camper and everything outside again.These people want your money then good luck.To top off matters the last day they were going to turn off water for repairs.We left a day early.They did not offer any refund.The advertised fishing area is a joke.concrete slabs are small and our rv site was just room for camper and awning.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pools, playground, quiet! Is an excellent place to make you feel like you're secluded in the woods even though you're right across from the beach! Managers are super nice. We were able to compromise for our vacation by being able to go to the beach AND go camping! Walking distance from the pier, but no shower rooms. If they built bath houses with showers, it would be 5☆'s! Pets allowed, but not on tent sites. That ridiculous. Our german shepherd would easily stayed on a leash or tie out and in the tent with us. But he had to be left behind. :(

Nice place to camp. I found the people friendly. It was cold the week we went so not much swimming. The camp sites seemed a little tight. Backing in to some spots was little bit tricky. Shower houses by the tents was nasty and the ones up front was better but could use some work. Beside that. The location is great. You can go out the back way and you will be right at the beach.

Moved our rv 3 times as our spot was terrible due to neighbours. Fires are permitted but some campers abuse and have 24 hrs a day and the smoke is terrible. Slabs are tiny and mostly broken. Pool is not heated and cold. Bathrooms in bad need of updating. Showers have warm water at bestno hot! The grounds needs a major cleanup. Yes you can walk to the beach though. I will not stay there again. I feel owners and staff just. Do Not Care.
