Great quiet vacation spot. The bay is beautiful. People are friendly. Great restaurants nearby. Very casual vibe. Just wear your cutoffs and flip flops. Pool area nice but venture out to the bay and check out the wild life.
The location is excellent. You can walk down the Pier to rent a boat, eat Midway at a restaurant/bar, or keep going down to the end to the beach. The staff were excellent in customer service. We arrived earlier than expected and when asked if we could check in early they said yes. The next day when the rest of our family got there they let us get the room beside theirs in a different building with no questions asked. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be going back.
The amenities at this resort are what makes it great. We loved spending time at the small private beach they have and watching football at the bar and grill in the lagoon. My only complaint is the room was not as clean as expected (carpet seemed dirty and more attention should have been paid to the toilet and shower).
Awesome experience. Their beach on the bay out on the island is only accessible by an awesome walk across the pier. It is not crowded and the restaurant out on the water is very affordable. Room was really nice and everything was very affordable. Also, the fitness room is actually a real weight room which is a rarity for hotels. Highly recommend.
Overall unimpressed with the resort. Location, pools, boardwalk, and ambience are the only redeeming values here. Food was subpar at Pelicans and the walls/doors are pretty thin. You can clearly hear doors opening down the hall. Bathtub was not cleaned and there was hair in the drain.
Very friendly staff and could be a great spot to enjoy a relaxing getaway. But this resort is lacking a lot of basic amenities that keep my mind away from the vacation mindset, especially for the premium nightly rate that we paid.
I have been there for multiple events as well as a guest for night stay. The outdoor pools are heated and have a nice bar and food area with nice staff. The rooms after recent renovation are very nice and comfortable. For events they have great staff and a lot of spaceseemed to handle different events nicely.
Definitely worth staying a little far from the beach! We were conveniently upgraded to a beautiful suite with no extra cost. Two hours past check out a nice man with a clip board came and knocked gently and ASKED when we planned to leave, gave us an additional hour to get ready for free. Never had a better experience with ANY hotel.
The hotel was beautifully renovated and the pool was was lovely. The dockside restaurant was fantastic and the service was great. I do believe the hotel staff needs some training, however. My reservation was for adjoining rooms, when we checked in at the front desk they assured us our rooms would be adjoining, they were not. When we called the front desk our accommodations could not be changed. The next problem we had was the ice maker on the second floor of building 3 did not work, we alerted the staff immediately. This was not taken care of the duration of our 2 night stay, the least they could have done was put an out of order sign on the machine so other guest could be aware and it makes the problem look like it's been acknowledged. The elevator in building 3 smelled of urine and really needed to be clean and the bathroom floor of our room was covered in grime and needed to be cleaned as well. I really feel like this hotel has the potential to be great but is either short staffed or lacking training, it's unfortunate.
We recently stayed at this resort for one night on our way further south in Florida. The resort was great outside of the fact that the staff seemed really unorganized. I had booked a room with two queen beds since it was myself, my daughter and a friend of mine on the trip. When we got there they did not have the room that I had already booked and paid for with two queen beds so we were stuck getting a room with a single king size bed which was not a huge deal but it is always annoying when you make a reservation that is not honored. We asked for extra blankets for the room so my friend could sleep on the couch in the room and they were never delivered. Later that night my friend went to the front desk to ask again for the blankets and this time the person working at the front desk was not even sure who to contact to get blankets but said they would try to work on it. We ended up splitting the blankets on the bed so he could stay warm and we are glad we did because blankets never showed up at the room. Outside of the two queen beds and no blankets issues the resort was great. While we did not go swimming they had a great looking pool we passed on the way out to Pelicans, which is a restaurant located on the resorts property at the end of a long boardwalk. The room was fairly cozy and before bed we ordered a movie that was still in theaters for my daughter to watch and even though we were light on blankets for all of us we all managed to get a good nights sleep.
I would stay at this resort again and could see it being much more pleasant if the staff is better prepared and/or better trained to effectively do their jobs.
Lost and Found - My brother recently stayed at the Sheraton Bay Point and when he checked out, he unfortunately left some cords plugged into the wall socket that went to his electronic media devices. He also left his cologne. When we called the front desk the next day, Amanda was very helpful and told us that housekeeping had found the cologne. She actually went back to the room herself to check for the cords but didn't find them. Later she learned that the cords had been placed in the safe at the hotel. We were told then that Devin at the front desk would hold them in safekeeping until we picked them up. Since I live here in Panama City, I went out and picked them up for my brother. So here's a big THANK YOU TO THE FRONT DESK STAFF AND TO HOUSEKEEPING!
Very chic and modern resort. This resort has been newly renovated and it definitely shows. The staff is very friendly and parking is in abundance. The rooms are well kept offering a mini fridge in every room. The resort offers an outdoor pool and a bar outdoors as well as indoors. Valet parking is offered and room service. This resort offers portable cribs for families traveling with their little ones. The ambiance of the facility offers for a very vibrant experience and the boardwalk leading to recreational water vehicles is a very nice addition.
The Sheraton Resort offers a great location near some of Panama City's most notable beaches and a ferry ride to Shell Isand. Many restaurants and malls are within a 5 minute drive. There is a fireworks display here on Friday nights which is quite spectacular. Cable TV is offered and free WiFi for guest.
I had a horrible experience here. Starting from the reception desk to the waiter in dining room. We are supposed to give us a different card for breakfast as it's complementary with the room. But what happens is that the reception forgot and I feel embarrassed standing in the dining room , have them explaining it after we got our table. And they don't have any buffet which they should have and we are limited to take only one item from the menu. Waiters were rude. The hotel itself is located in a nice place which I guess that's why they did not put much effort in making it more comfortable. The small lake in front of the property stinks. Summing up all these, it was a very unpleasant experience.
I am soo loving this resort! Pit walk bar is the best, love the golf courses, the pools, and even though they were handling a large group that was checking out, they still managed to check me in early for me and my husband anniversary so we can make it to our event. Thank you. What can I say about our room? It was completely renovated and clean, sit down balcony with a bay view. They are very helpful with me surprising my husband. From the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to our room after dinner. You have a favorite returning guest.
This is a great spot! If you are looking for a relaxing weekend near the excitement of Panama City Beach look no further! My fiance and I loved the quiet location that was a short Uber (recently legalized again) to great clubs and bars. The hotel itself is quite special. It has its own private beach out on the bay that is spectacular. There is a little bar near it and I really can't speak highly enough about cold drinks and food near a nice beach. Only downside is the water is pretty shallow. Good for wading and cooling off but not really for swimming.
