The Ocean Flame buffet restaurant at Shephard's is top notch. Had brunch there with family Christmas Eve day.
All you can eat prime rib, brisket, chicken, sausage, oysters on the half shell, snow crab clusters, jumbo peel 'n eat shrimp, sushi, breakfast items, soups, salads, desserts, and I know I haven't mentioned dozens of other items. You can cut the prime rib with a fork. It melts in your mouth. Everything is top quality.
When you consider that you could pay $25 or more in a steakhouse or seafood restaurant for just one of these items, it's quite reasonably priced.
In case you wanted to know, there is inside and beachside (outside) dining, and a full bar.response / report this review -

Everything and more! Sweet private beach with views of the boats traveling out to the gulf. Fun, live music, pool, water sports rentals and friendly staff. Walking distance to restaurants and shops but they have three wonderful restaurants on property. Rooms are so nice, clean, fresh tropical decor.

Loved it! Had a 2 bdrm, 2 bath "apartment" with a corner balcony right on the beach. Restaurants, bar, pool, beach, all just an elevator ride away! Totally recommend this place. Valet only. Pool and beach are semi-private. Public can pay for access. Also, good tip! Be sure to check your towels back in, even if the towel guy is gone for the day. Front desk will mark them received.

Hotel was actually nice. Rooms were very spacious, with good views. When researching the hotel it said it was good for drinks and relaxing. They also said it was "close" to entertainment. When they said close they should've really said that you are above three clubs and bars on the first floor of the hotel. You can hear the music and guests well into the night. The walls are paper thin, so don't be surprised if you hear things at all hours. Overall, I wouldn't personally stay here again because of the clubs and bars.

Went to the tiki bar one night late and the place was still open and it was a great find!! Bartender was friendly, the vibe was awesome, they have a stage with a band, they have a huge LED screen playing music videos when the band is not performing. Music selection was great, private access to a small beach to have drinks. Prices were reasonable for a vacation destination. Will definitely be back to this place when in Clearwater Beach again!!

Beautiful Resort. The beach alongside the property made the stay ideal for my beach enjoying family. Staff professional and kind, the rooms ample and elegantly decorated. We'll be back!

Clean, modern, nice pool and actually on the beech as accurately described on Trip adviser. On TripAdvisor it has beach with an umbrella icon, as with most things these are not free and owned by a third party ($20 as of 2017). Very relaxed experience compared to our stay in Orlando but that's going to be another review.

This was our second stay at Shepard's. We love the location with the semi private beach area with calm water. The pool area is great and spacious. We enjoy the live music. We have two kids it's never bothersome to us. Room accommodation are clean, comfortable, and very spacious. We love Clearwater and our stays at Shepard's!

This place is great. Housekeepers and valet do a great job. Location is alright because you face the next island and not the gulf. The private beach, pool, and bars make for a comfortable, relaxing, fun day. The room is beautiful, large, and comfy even though we do not face the gulf. As a young couple we do not mind the music played until about 2 am but be aware that you may still be able to hear it. Good place for large 21+ groups.Otherwise definitely recommend!

Sunday at Ocean Flame's buffet was unforgettable. We're excited about returning with friends. We especially like free valet service, the friendly bartenders and hostesses. The food was exceptional. We just arrived a little too close to closing time. And owe it to ourselves to return soon. The bathrooms are shared among nearby clubs and bars on first level of the resort bathrooms were high traffic areas and not well kept. Change this and your rating could be 5 star. A dinning experience as Ocean Flame offers should have their own set of restrooms, or at the least a staff attendant, if it remains shared facilities.

Pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere decent prices and awesome service. We will definitely be back. Without the kids! A band plays until 2am every night. Not a rambunctious crowd, but still a little too loud for the kids. Other than that awesome town and resort.

Terrible service for mediocre buffet food. The crab legs were old, with little meat in them. Most of the other dishes were hot but low on flavour. The waitress staff was horrible. Too busy laughing and joking in the kitchen to do their jobs. Staff slipping out the back door to stand on the deck. Staff serving other staff alcohol in their water glasses. Yes. Out in the open. No manager to be seen. You're better off going to a Chinese buffet and saving yourself the 40 dollars per plate.

Good resort but every night the music don't stop till exactly 3am. You gotta watch they try to say you don't return the pool towels and charge you $20 per towel after you check out. Same with the $9 bottled water in your room. We brought our own water with us and they charged my credit card after we checked out anyways. Said they would take the water off and never did!

Bar tenders were all nice and fast! Atmosphere was amazing! A bar, another bar with a live band and an awesome night club with a great DJ and two floors all on the beach. There is something for everyone here. $10 dollar cover worth every penny. Cheers to a great night out.

This place is worth staying at!!! My wife and I got married here and it was awesome!!! Couldn't ask for a better place!!! The lady named Sharon there is a really nice lady! The live concerts are awesome since you can stay on your balcony and watch them. The pool area is nice and you can order food there or get some drinks at the bar down from the pool. In general, this place is an awesome place for adults to get away for a couple days and it really is worth the money!!!!
