  I have to agree 100% with the prior review. He is there to catch fish and boy does he know where they are. Great experience. I've been on a lot of charter boats on both Lake Michigan and Lake Superior and I've never had a captain get on fish so quick and stay on them. He also isn't afraid to let a guy help out if he sees you know what your doing.excellent clean professional business

  Captain Mitch is a true pro. He wont talk your ear off, but he will find the fish and take care of business. We had a perfect time and caught more lake trout than we could keep so we released fish for the last hour on a half day trip and Capt. Mitch was not watching the clock, I had mentioned we would probably start heading back well after the four hour mark. I researched a few competitors and talked to locals before deciding on Shelter Bay Charters and glad I did. His dock is onsite and he literally has the entire bay to himself. Next time, I would go for the day trip out about 30 miles or so north of Marquette where there is a reef of some sort and they actually jig for 20-40# lake trout. Check his sight for the details, but this is one of Capt. Mitchs' specialties We did the close to shore half day trip and was still amazing. He cleaned the fish for us and was perfectly pleasant with me, my wife and two boys, 15 and 11. This was an experience we will not forget.
