My husband and I have been going to salmon run campground for years with our friends and we LOVE it. We took our daughter this year and we had a BLAST. Clean grounds, clean bathrooms, clean pool and extremely friendly people/workers. Love this place! Two thumbs up.

I stayed at Salmon Run this past weekend with a group of 12 people. In the morning, the owner marched over and demanded to speak to the girl who booked our site. She pulled her aside and scolded her for things that were not done by our group. She specifically called out the men, making inappropriate statements and assuming they were out of control (which they were not). After threatening multiple times that she is the owner, can do what she wants, and can kick anyone off she sees fit she told us to stay. We had a tubing trip planned for the day and wanted to finished our long-time planned weekend. I have never been treated so poorly as I had from her, yet alone as a paying customer. If we would have been there for longer than 1 day, we would have absolutely left. This is an adult campground and speaking to us as we are at boot camp and very disrespectful is so inappropriate. We will never return to this site and I would highly recommend second guessing before you book here.

Had a wonderful time with friends. Clean grounds and sites bathrooms were kept up and the store is stocked with just in case items. Wouldn't mind a bigger selection at the store but it is what you would expect. The guys who drive bus to the launch point are always nice.

We enjoyed our long 4th of July weekend here. We found that the staff was courteous and professional. In regards to the review from Zach Ficklin about his dogs. Your dogs were left in your camper and were barking for almost 7 hours straight, that's why you were asked to leave. I feel bad for your dogs trapped in your camper while you were out having fun. We were camping at the spot behind you and never smelled or witnessed any drug usejust constant barking from your site. Please provide the full story before giving this campground a bad review.

These guys helped us out. We couldn't find a tubing company open past 4 until one of Vic's Canoe vans swung by. The driver kindly ushered us to Salmon Run campground where we got equipped with tubes AND and tagalong tube for our cooler. We were driven to the drop off by a very sweet and energetic young man. And of course the Muskegon river course was beautiful-- I highly recommend working with this organization.

We rented the "island" and had an amazing time. Went tubing down the river, drank a bunch of cocktails and gathered around the campfire. Everything you would want in a camping adventure.

Right on the river, calm, full amenities, pool, store, arcade. Nice walk, boat launch, close to Hess lake. Kind of nice they have a "quiet time" at 11pm.

I have visited this campground twice in the past two years, but I wish I had time to visit more often.

As for the sites with electricity - eh, they're definitely smaller and right next to each other, BUT, the best part about Salmon Run is the Rustic Sites. Although you have to go without water and electricity (big deal), you really get a lot of space and privacy with your site.

There is a small store located on the premises that sells almost anything you could need (minus alcohol of any kind). Also, Vic's Canoe's is one of my favorite parts about this campground. You sign up in the main office, and they take you on a bus, up the river, with tubes, kayaks, or canoes (your choice). You then float back down the river and arrive right back at the campground. It's so convenient, and so much fun.

The little cabins available for renting are adorable. Small, but adorable. They don't have much privacy, but they're very close to the river, and they're great for those who have problems with camping in tents.

There is a pool and a playground as well, which is great for children.

The one (and probably only) thing that bothers me is that the showers are run by pushing a button, so you have to consistently push the button or the water shuts off. I know this is to conserve water, and I can appreciate that, but it's a pain when you have to keep pressing the button while you're trying to lather your hair or your body. Minor problem. Not a big deal.

Overall, I really recommend Salmon Run Campground, and I plan to return here in years to come!

Salmon Run and Vic's Canoe are the absolute best!! I've been camping and tubing there for my birthday for several years with groups ranging from 8 to 25 people. The staff are helpful, the campground is clean, bathrooms and showers are nice, and the river tubing trip is awesome!!

We stayed here for a couple nights and the spot was amazing and so was the view. We choose the rustic river site. The downside is they only allow one tent per site. Even though the sites were pretty large and had plenty of room. So our friends booked the site next to us. Which was a little bit of a walk. They paid 35 bucks to literally just put their tent there and sleep there. Kind of a racket if you ask me.

The other crazy thing is there is no one manning the front enterance and no one came around the nights we were there. So we could easily had the two tents on one site.

Also, if you were to rent the rustic river site and someone you did not know rented the other one, it would be super weird because one of you would be walking through the others site.

A couple other things. The pool smelled like moth balls and the showers were not at all what was expected being at a 35/night campsite. They were press button and no control over the temp. State campgrounds have better showers then these guys.

All in all it was a beautiful site but I can't imagine how crazy it is when it's busy. We most likely won't return.
